There's this game being made in the west called Relics of Nature's Fury. It's really awesome. [/shameless-plug]

Ahem. I think it's because the markets of each culture. Americans like the violence of FPS games and GTA clones. Europe likes the creativity in sandbox-type games. And Japan likes the intellectual strategies required to solve puzzles and battles in RPGs. So there. That's why.

Then we'd be used to it and wonder what if the world had normal faces.

What if I had 100,000 dollars?

You can't possibly have something without having it's opposite as well. There must be disease for there to be health, there must be shadow for there to be light, there must be death for there to be life, there must be despair for there to be hope, there must be ugliness for there to be beauty, there must be evil for there to be good. As RMX said, we need contrast. Everything has it's opposite; if it didn't, we wouldn't have anything to compare and contrast with. How could we know what healthy was if there was no disease, or darkness with no light, or thing with no antonym of said thing. Fill that last one in with your own examples. The reason these bad guys are the way they are is so they can be the opposite of the good guys.

The only strange exception I can think of is in Golden Sun. That's only because the Wise One's motives are confusing, so one can never be sure if he's helping or hurting.

Fun fact: The original plan was to release The Simpsons Movie after the show's series finale. That obviously won't be happening any time soon.

Meh. Just examples of how retconning shouldn't be done. Also, I didn't say to look that ep up because it was good. I said to look it up because it was, as you said, a travesty.

see 12-21-2012; Mayan apocalypse theory...

Seriously though, it's just a way to incorporate the "BEAT THIS GUY AND YOU'LL BE THE SAVIOR OF THE ENTIRE WORLD" plotline.

Rockman Series / Re: What was the first Megaman game you played?
« on: January 28, 2010, 01:22:21 AM »
Mega Man 2. My grandpa gave my brother and I a bunch of old NES games way back when (Clinton was still president). Among them were all four Dragon Warrior games (didn't like them that much then), Pinball Quest, both Startropics games (sadly I lost Zoda's Revenge), and Mega Man 2, among others. Great fun.

Or maybe it was Mega Man X (my uncle gave it to my brother and I when I was like 5). It's a bit too close to call, actually. Damn my memory lapses.

Don't instigate, BoMF (damn, one letter away...). Necroposting is not cool, unless you have something highly relevant to post.

Dr. Light is the ultimate evil.
That son of a [sonic slicer].

This is why I voted "Other". It is true.

Sure the quote's old, but you can't really sum it up better than that.

Glad to see a new member who actually posts in the intro topic instead of making their own. Kevin Smith, eh? I agree with that. Enjoy your stay! And learn who the members that you don't mess with are.

And spikes didn't do anything to you in either of them! Used Gaea Armor to beat Rangda Bangda in X5, Shadow Armor to get through Gate's Castle in X6. Also beat Sigma with it; it's super effective!

I honestly don't see how a single track can make the entire soundtrack complete crap.
