I'll admit I copped out and sharked infinite Double Jumps to script that, but nevertheless, witnessing the text in gameplay was done ages ago.

And yeah, the legit method is pretty old too.  More insane than that is getting Grizzly Slash's heart tank as Zero, which requires utterly inhuman timing to the point of still being unrealistic, but nevertheless possible.
You want utterly inhuman, unrealistic timing? In X6, try getting the capsule in Turtloid's stage with Zero. I can do it, but it took me weeks upon weeks of practice to be able to pull it off consistently, and it STILL needs a bit of luck trying to correctly lure the bat near the place.

Yeah, go play X6. Easily the most challenging of the X series up to that point, and my favorite game in the timeline. :D

Given what we know about a certain series that involves improbably-shaped glasses, face-chested mecha and bowling with whole galaxies, is it just me who finds it kinda lulz and ironic the fact that this NPC is the clerk of the Weapon Shop in the hidden city in MegaTen?

Click for the full version and the name (in green) of the NPC.

My roster has increased by a couple of images, thanks to the awesome funny of Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka, both the anime and the eroge. :P

If it's not from DA or an image hosting site, it needs to be copied to one.
Basically this. And the issue isn't just with me; I'm just the most vocal and loudmouthed about it.

460
Actually, no. Since DA DOES give you the embed code to remote link images, it's perfectly fine to post them here. The rule restricts itself to sites that do NOT publicly give embed codes for their images.

461
Alright, this is getting to my nerves.

As of today, the FORUM RULES officially hereby REQUIRE you that if you are going to post any images, you upload them ELSEWHERE and don't use the original link. Failure to do this several times in a row nets you a nice 3-day pass to Bansville.

Lemme just quote one of our veterans' sig:

Let's just sit down, chant and summon Zan. Maybe he'll hear our plea and enlighten us with his neverending knowledge.

Can you get with Kyon's Sister in the dating sim
...I like how you think.

And in other news, I wish I [tornado fang]ing knew how to do the moves in Gekitou and unlock all the (potential) secret characters, since I'm SURE the default people can't be the whole cast in the game.

Gaming / Re: What are your Favorite Individual Levels in Gaming?
« on: April 22, 2009, 08:38:17 AM »
Favorite levels? Hm, let's see...

- Levels 1, 5 and 7 in the original Contra
- The unforgettable 7-4, the maze dungeon, in the original Mario Bros. :D
- Mission 2 (the Desert mission) in Top Gun: The Second Mission -- dodging those trees IS a test of endurance
- The opening MMX level -- come on, do I really need to say why?
- An unorthodox entry: the Bonus Stages in Super Street Fighter II, especially the brick wall one :D

Those are all I can think of for the time being. :P

Please, God, say it ain't so.

Also, new technology with webcam face tracking from a pervert game maker hailing from, you guessed it, the Land of the Rising Sun. The technology's supposed to work like this:

Meaning, where you position your head is the point of view focus for the in-game camera. Pretty interesting, and on the whole, pretty innocent, right?

Wrong. This is the actual use the game company plans to give it:

I have to admit, pretty damn creative. And relevant to my interests too.

In that case, you might wanna try investigating more deeply.

1. Run firefox -safe-mode, and open with the screwed profile.
2. In the dialog box, pick to Disable ALL add-on components.
3. Run the screwed profile, and enable the add-ons backwards in time one by one, i.e. enable the oldest one, try the browser.
4. If no crash happens, enable the next oldest one, restart and try the browser again.
5. Repeat step 4 ad-infinitum until the last add-on you enable crashes the system.

You can either do that, or simply load the screwed profile in Safe Mode, export your bookmarks, and import them on the new profile. I'd go with the longer solution, since it ensures your sessions and history remain safe. It's a bit more tedious, but it's worth it.
