I know I'm just being a pedantic dicknose, but I'll just say it anyway:It's a phobia. I got over the panic attacks when being splashed, regular bathing, and even partial swimming over the years though therapy since I was 6 or so. I can't stick my head underwater without a panic attack or passing out, though. And I get shivers when I go near a pool.
It's not really a "phobia" until it reaches a point where the fear becomes irrational and interferes with normal living.
I'm talking "that humidifier will drown me" kind of irrational.
Lol, that was a lengthy response to me being silly. That's good. You seem to be in a decent shape from your pics. Swimming's always a problem without a public pool nearby or something. It is considered one of the best (if not the best) physical activity there is, mostly because it works on all of your muscles, it gets you used to a good posture, and it's good for your breathing in general. All of this would fit to a tee to me, having several breathing problems and living in one of the most coastal beachy countries ever. >_> But I'm too much of a [sonic slicer] to get over my hydrophobia.
Actually, I have been meaning to work on my upper body a bit, but I have been eating a lot healthier lately and have gone down two pants size, and I feel great. What sucks is that it is really hard for me to do my favorite exercise; swimming.
I definitely do not get to swim enough.
I play all of them ^^;Just asking what was your favorite style of the games. =P
And I'll play this too, because it's RE. I jus dunno what my opinion is on all this is what I meant

To be perfectly honest, the reason I personally don't exercise is due to 2 reasons:Got nothing to do with either, really. The Adonis bod is something so ridiculously hard to achieve. I know a guy who went all the way, spent a horrible amount of money in proteins and weights, completely got obcessed with his body, and exercised an amazing amount of hours every single day. This went on for years. His arms certainly got a bit bigger, but he didn't look different at all. When he flexed, I went "Oh, he's not that skinny anymore", but after that, he might have been the most physically fit person I knew, but he didn't look a wee bit different. Most stuff about your body is sadly genetic. You won't become Flex Mentallo if you start doing a daily exercise. The objective isn't that, and was never that. The amount of training to achieve a status you're talking about is ridiculous.
One, I don't care.![]()
Two, because my ego is pretty insane as it is, but still kept somewhat in moderate control. If I had a glorious six-pack, bulging biceps, and essentially a bod like an Adonis, there'd really be no stopping my ego. The flexing, the kissing of the biceps, and so on. The double sterotypical whammy of the Black & Italian in me would just have a tank top field day with it.
They work perfectly fine for me.Probably not. =P But let's just agree on different tastes of art and fluidity, since it's what it goes down to.
But arguing whether it works or not is moot, considering that at the moment, I cannot see your point without evidence.
(That, and is it really okay to be arguing about this in here? >_>a)

I find that when I exercise I get sweaty and tired, not relaxed, not happy, just sweaty and tired. I can get sweaty from just playing any sort of game in my room. And I also have my main source of frustration there too.You know when you try and sprint, but you're not used to running, so you get a pain on your side? Same thing. You're not really used to it. Effort's gonna make you tired and feeling like crap. It's important to follow a good scheme according to your weight, stature, body muscle/fat, and everything. And you know what's awesome? No source of frustration when you're running or weightlifting, unlike games. It's just you and the body, total control.
If it's not one still, then there are panel transitions. And that's what we're discussing, right? >_>aEVERYTHING depends on the montage. If a panel fits directly the panel that comes after. My point is that some panels in Trigun and Hellsing do not. Things like changing a small stance don't bother me, but completely different actions that don't flow one towards the other, do. The art also makes it a bit hard to see what type of movement is being made on the single frame sometimes. That's pretty much the whole gist of it.
Each panel is a still of something, but the space between panels is a transition. A transition can be of several classifications, the most popular in everything, being a action-to-action transition.
I'm using Scott McCloud's comic terminology for the record, as there isn't actually much else of a standard in the comic industry.
You have to think during exposition, but comic or manga, you don't think during action scenes, I believe we both understand this.
Now for me, if panel transitions in action scenes miss a small detail like a character shifting their stance or position, it really doesn't contribute much to me being confused. Frantic is frantic, we all miss little details when things move fast, I don't let it bother me.
If you leave out an important detail though, then yeah maybe one could get confused, like "where in the world did he get that BFG?" (Unless it's hammerspace played for laughs)
I don't like it when they show me everything that happens because I get bored.
Alright, so lazers and explody things aren't violent, got it.Watch almost any kids' cartoon. The logic follows that guns will always follow lasers, and that while explosives and missiles are okay, guns, rifles and machine guns are bad.
As the biggest Resident Evil fan here let me jus say:Depends on what kind of Resi fan you are. The classic 0, 1, 2, 3, Code Veronica, Outbreak 1 and Outbreak 2 horror titles? Or a fan of 4, 5 and light gun games?
I dunno
I did. And I ask you this: if characters with guns aren't allowed to be in the same game as Mario, explain the Star Fox team Smash Bros.Pew pew pew lasers. Not bullets.
Oh, wait those are fictional guns, so they don't count!
You heard it here, folks. Nintendo doesn't publish games that have/involve/imply the use of realistic firearms.Because all of them star Mario, right?
... of course, this is if you don't acknowledge the existence of Hogan's Alley, Duck Hunt,AdvanceNintendo Wars, Super Scope 6, various arcade cabinets, Geist...
1 still = 1 battle? Reeeeally?I never said that. Ever.
'This kind of choreography' = Action-to-action.It's always action-to-action, every comic and manga is. The difference is making it clear how many of the actions are actually put in there.
Also, I'm not too sure about you, perhaps it's a personal thing, perhaps it's a cultural thing, or maybe it's just the difference between how people go about with life, but I never have to pause or think whilst reading either comics or manga. It's more likely a personal thing, but actually, thinking is a way of understanding. You cannot possibly fully understand Watchmen without stopping to think at certain points, and exploring other words and panels. Decoding certain things is also a way to figure out what's going on. But action should never be stopped. And I think that manga like Trigun and Hellsing has some problems when it comes to transition-to-transition. It's probably my own problem with the really rushed art, but some stuff doesn't really seem to connect fully into the rest at the proper speed. How some characters got from one position to another don't really make full sense.
And that is me.
But I prefer it when things work out more like the way it does for me irl. You know, immersion and all that?
That, and technically, a story is a metaphor for real life >_>
My brother has an exercise routine and it turns him into an uptight [dark hold]. I prefer my walking routine. Keeps my mood respectable, keeps my legs looking good, gets me where I need to go, and I don't end up acting like a pretentious jerk afterward. So basically you think exercising turns people into assholes, and changes people's moods to worse.
What's funny about that is the fact that with Fantasy Sports, as well as stuff like Sabremetrics, sports fans are NERDS. Fantasy Sports is damn near close to an RPG.It's more about the subject matter than anything else.
The thing is, I'm aware that exercise is good (which is why I'm still sour about the fact that my folks offed my gym membership), but there are so many [Top Spin]s that think sports is the only way to get exercise.
The thing is, I'm aware that exercise is good (which is why I'm still sour about the fact that my folks offed my gym membership), but there are so many [Top Spin]s that think sports is the only way to get exercise.Only way? No. Best and most entertaining way? Yes.
( ´_ゝ`)フーンExercise is required to live a healthy life. I'm cutting back on alot of time just to have that hour or two at the gym everyday, because it's the most relaxing part of my day.
Such is the problem with being a man.
Also, if you're not gonna to the gym or do a sport, how else are you gonna get some exercise? Jog around the block? =w=a
I walk home from school, can that count as dropping some pounds? I have lost a few after doing so in a few months, and I am happy in my current weight.I have to walk 3.5 Kilometers every day forward and back in order to get to work. And honestly, I don't think that's exercise at all. People walk. People have always walked to one place or another. Want to get exercise? Lift some weights. Do some cardio. An actual exercise routine. Eat healthy (varied meals). Drink LOTS of water.
People is just too paranoid about their weight these days, I say people should just get over it, ya know?
>_o I don't find either of those difficult to understand...at all.Comics rarely have action-to-action panels. Mostly, they have stills of battles, and sometimes, they have this kind of coreography which I'm showing you. But reading comics, you can see the whole thing animate in your head. Which is harder to do in all-over-the-place manga. See, it's easy to make comics heavily detailed and still with a crapload of frantic action, always moving.
To be honest, I find relying solely on action-to-action panels in action comics to feel a bit stiff and slow. Which is why I prefer manga better. There are a lot more aspect-to-aspect panels in Asian comics which can make the scene feel a lot more frantic.
In real life you don't watch things like a fly on a wall, right? The eye travels, and manga capitalises on this to shift the audience's focus in order to imply some things rather than show it. There are moments that are crystal clear, still.
Well...I don't really get your problem \(^o^)/Of course then there's Nihei.
