That means I have to wait for someone mentioning a game that I really play.

Which is not a lot.
Say it yourself and nitpick it. We just don't want people filling this with their own nitpickings and not paying any attention to others'. Just have fun.

Never really cared for television, I am one of those that would watch western television rarely, alongside the jap ones.

'Sides, MASH was a bloody 1900(?)'s flick.

Talking about the show, not the movie.

I must've missed the Sega man-fan thing back in the thread somewhere, but that's understandable.  I'm just more shocked cause you seem like a adventure/platformer kinda lover.

And wait, you're a Sega man-gasm but NEVER played Virtual On: Oratonio Tangram, one of their best games ever? Not even in the arcade?  :(

Haha, but since you're a Sega man-toy, and even though you said recent, how about some Sonic CD lovin?  If not that, thennnnnn how about some Halo: Reach beta!
I am in PORTUGAL. I get few classically-loved games here, AT ALL, and specially not good arcade titles. And yes, I am an adventure/platformer/action lover. Pretty much every single game that has some sort of plot, as simplistic as it may be, and a set progression, from beginning to the end, with which I go forth with a character, through levels, areas or a world, and do objectives or things in order to reach my final destination.

Sonic CD:
- Time-travel IN-LINEAR-LEVEL-PROGRESSION to get the best ending? Chaos Emeralds were one thing, but call Doctor Who, man.
- Bonus racetrack levels, as good as they were, don't play as well as the previous games'.
- Bosses were awesome-looking, but way too easy.
- Heck, levels were easy.
- Last race against Metal Sonic, I expected him to go a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit faster.

Halo: Reach Beta (I'm not a multiplayer man, but here goes)
- It's the very same Halo with jetpacks.
- Wait, that's a good thing, not a bad thing.
- Now what can I say of bad about a jetpack add-on...
- They are... um... TOO good? Nah...
- Alright, I give up. Oh, I know. BETA HAS NO SINGLEPLAYER MODE SO WE CAN PLAY AROUND WITH SAID JETPACKS. Whew, there.

The World Ends With You.
Metroid Fusion, or Wario Land 4.

TWEWY/It's a Wonderful World
- Incredible story, but time doesn't really serve any purpose, when it could have been used for some awesome gameplay mechanics.
- Certain pins are absolutely useless.
- You have to get rid of your favorite attacks and trade them for new ones sooner or later due to more powerful enemies.
- Rare drops are hard to get.
- Final boss is too damn hard after a steady difficulty.

Metroid Fusion
- A bit slow, Zero Mission fixed that.
- Not as much freedom as the other Metroids.
- Suit is UGLY.
- Having to recover every single enemy's goo gets annoying.
- Unanswered questions.

Wario Land 4
- NOT a worthy successor to Wario Land 2 and 3 BY FAR.
- Sprites much uglier than previous games.
- Why is the life bar back? Wario's been about puzzles for years, not progression.
- All levels have a time race back to the beginning? WHY BACKTRACKING
- Short as heck.
- Minigames really aren't very fun, except for Wario Hop.
- The charm is gone.

Lol but I never played Bowser's inside stories...  -_-
Then someone else take it. My post is pretty damn full at the moment.

Not with Uncle either.

WHY NOT? What Uncle do to you dat's so bad, hmmmm? You disgrace famiry.

Okay, now this is dissapointing. Not a single show on TV Tokyo yet (as far as I concerned, they are all too "meh" to be considered one). Oh well, at least I can hunt for good shows on the web. :?
Go watch some MANLY WESTERN SHOWS then. Grow some chest hair. There's always that one episode of Macgyver or M.A.S.H. which you've never watched. GO NOW.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade

Also, did I read correctly that you've never played Donkey Kong Country 2?
I am a Sega man. I played Nintendo games at friend's houses, but I didn't finish them all, and most stuff I played was later, emulated. Please stop being surprised about this, everyone. I know, I didn't play AMAZINGLY POPULAR games back when they were released, but I played other good and quite popular games that many people nowadays cherish. On with the reviewing!

- Too much scenery, all the same.
- Tries to emulate a Metroidvania without success, should be a straight action game.
- Jumping is VERY annoying, why not use a button?
- Very low number of combos, and you don't get more in the whole game.
- Too many swords, you end up having to switch between them and never really getting VERY used to a single one.

Alright now. Lemme make a review of a few recent titles of my choice, which I loved.

Bayonetta:
- QTEs are rare, but they enter in the worst possible moments. And make you lose a life.
- Whip has few combos.
- Bike level takes a lot of time, so it gets boring.
- Boss design is kinda samey, although cool.
- Space Harrier, the best possible minigame they could ever do has INVERTED CONTROLS. WHY.

Forza 3:
- Too many cars, so little changes.
- For that matter, too little detail on tracks as well. We've seen better than this.
- Tutorial man gets a bit annoying sometimes with what we should and should not do.
- Possibly the most helping game ever for non-followers of the series, but this also means tons of people murdered in online.
- I remember the breaks working alot better in Audis.

Gran Turismo 4.
Sorry, I'm on the Forza side. 8D

Alright, KH2...

- Story-wise, this game basically screwed-up the KH series. Okay, so the bad guys want to... get a heart. That's not evil. And for that, they want us to... kill heartless. Oh that's really evil, ridding the world of heartless and saving the worlds again. Axel turned into a pansy looking for his lover instead of the keikaku master from CoM, and GOOFY is the smart one of the group. GOOFY. Plus, it pretty much has no awesome moments like the ones in KH1. Like the one where Sora gains the keyblade back from Riku, or when he sacrifices himself for Kairi. The story there was so awesome. A little kid thrown into an epic adventure, basically. And they screwed it all up just to make "more drama".
- Double wielding? AWESOME. Only useable in special forms? Screw you, Nomura.
- Cutscenes seem so... out of life and anything. Couldn't they put on a little theme song in most? If not, they coulda just been replaced with text boxes.
- SIMBA CRAWLS IN HIS SKIN AND HIS WOUNDS THEY WILL NOT HEAL
- I have to grind the forms if I want the cool jumps and dashes? Hell no.

Didn't Seth admit that the main reason Meg seems to exist solely to be abused is because nobody on the group knows how to write for a teenage girl?
That explains alot.

Not luck if you're just awesome at hitting buttons, or if you have the item that lets you pick your characters. Now the stage selecting was completely random, but it didn't really matter.

(I usually played as Mighty with Knuckles as my partner, Vector, while awesome is too slow to start, Espio is a good replacement for Knuckles, I hate Charmy, and Bomb and Heavy need no Mention.)
The whole thing just seemed like one big empty place to me. No enemies, no action, no interactible scenery of any sort... Just... racing in this big maze and trying to find a way out. Felt lonely.

Devil May cry 3
Alright, let's do this.

- Jumping in the DMC series pretty much sucks. You jump straight up, and there isn't much control in it.
- For the coolness of Nevan, it could have plenty more combos.
- Normal mode is hard due to stupid japanese mistake "DOSE WACKI WESTARNS LIKE MOAR DIFICULT GAMEZ"
- Camera angles try my patience.
- Dante looks like a cigarette.
- WHY can we only switch weapons before levels or on statues?

LEGO Indiana Jones I+II.
Thanks for a more recent game, but I didn't play that one, sorry.

Earthbound. If that's not recent enough, then hit me with your best shot on Monster Hunter. Any of them.
Monster Hunter then. I've played Earthbound, but dammit, I want RECENT titles.

- As friggin' manly as it is, the caveman look isn't always stylin'.
- Taking care of the state of weapons is NEVER fun in any game. ANY game, it's kind of a stupid feature, as fragile as they want to make the player.
- Grilling beasties takes a bit of time to get used to.
- MINING AND MORE MINING FOR ITEMS
- Boring longtimes. I wish this game was just the big battles. ;_;

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2
I once bought a DW game on the PS2. From the state of evolution, I'd say the game will continue to last me this far for any kind of DW fix I might have. 8D

You ready? Here we go:

(click to show/hide)
Never heard of it. Should I?

And since I don't like to quote too much, I LOVED the black and white graphics. Being a hardcore Sin City fan and all. And lemme just go and have a cup of coffee, I'll do one for KH2 in a moment. God knows I can do of that one, I played the JP version, US version, EU version and then I played it about twice more.

Sonic Unleashed on PS2/Wii didn't suck as much because it limited you more. yes, the bosses weren't as good (which is one thing I can say Unleashed on the 360/PS3 actually did quite averagely decently instead of just badly) And the levels felt a bit better. But they were tiny. And weren't very good either, to be honest.

Rush's music is kind of a touchy subject. The music IS very good, it's only of a genre not everyone likes. I don't like techno, but I can understand why people like the music, because it's just a very good quality sondtrack. Try showing Sonic Adventure 1/2's music to a music fan who doesn't like 80's corny metal and he'll laugh at you quite alot. It's basically one of those things you can chalk up to taste.

(I am a huge fan of 80's corny metal, so... I just hate it when the lyrics include references to the characters like it's some damn cartoon show. I'm looking at you, Team Sonic theme!)

-That's a bad thing... how? It makes the game in question all the better; it's saying something bad about all the more recent ones.
-Never played it until recently, so this one doesn't count.

Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
(Let him do this one, Nova. I want to see what he thinks, not you.)
Alright then.

- Single camera setting with no changes still limits the levels quite alot.
- Collectables in linear platform games required for progression? No-no.
- Game's quite cheap sometimes.
- Played it with a d-pad back then. Frustrating as hell when you're used to an analog stick.
- Why give us a choice on which sub-level to complete when you obviously need to complete all of them to proceed?

Toe Jam and Earl.

=D

- Graphics are a bit primary.
- Levels have a bit of sameyness on the areas.
- Sometimes, it gets a little bit too zany for my taste.
- Earth = Floating islands? What the funk?
- You move sloooowly.

Madworld.
Ah, LOVED this one. There are some obvious faults to it, though.

- The whole game has a time limit of six hours. Can be completed it much less.
- NO difficulty is shown anywhere in the game, at all, except for the last two bosses and a little bit of the sci-fi level.
- Death's one-hit-kill. >_>
- Bike levels are awesome but are kinda simplistic and boring at times.
- No actual REAL conclusion to the story.

Super Mario Bros.

"It gets repetitive" or "you can't save" do not count as flaws.
No go. I don't do staples of systems. That's like reviewing Xevious or Pac-Man. The whole world knows about its gameplay and all of its tiny qualities, and the game's radically simple. Gimme another one. And I kinda recall asking for recent titles. Only one I've seen so far was Madworld.

I played Chaotix on an emu not too long ago and if there any issues then i didn't notice them.
Then... I guess it wasn't issues, I just didn't like the game. XD

Seriously, is Chaotix supposed to be just like that? A bigass labyrinth, you just keep stopping and boosting, no enemies at all, just constant rubber banding? And picking your character through a luck-based setting? O_o

You know what? I just realized something about that little Curve Issue people were talking about quite a while back in the thread, with the curve on the hill that goes straight down. Chaotix had that too, and that game was good, so I don't see why people complain about it so much.
I do remember playing Chaotix and thinking it had quite alot of issues, though. The underpopulated labyrinthic levels, for one. And the fact that you could just pick Charmy and fly around looking for the objective. It was a loooooong time ago, though. Wonder if it was emulation issues.

Sin and Punishment. Make my day. :3

- Released only in Japan, even though it's perfectly localized.
- Horrible voice-acting.
- Bad controls on the N64.
- Even WORSE controls with the Gamecube controller on the Wii VC version.
- A few annoying bosses.

...Why do you guys hate the Wii/PS2 version of Sonic Unleashed so much?

Only part I hated from that version was the 3-4 part Night stages shtick. And of course the first section of the snow level. And I can't say much about the nunchuk controls cause I only played the game with the classic controller.

Edit: And the boss battles (minus the final boss) that were better in the PS3/360 version.

Edit2: And of course the missing two stages, abscence of the moves for the werehog and the lifeless hub worlds in this version.

As for the news, I'm a bit skeptical about it. I'll wait for a video of the gameplay of this game to see if it really handles like SU Wii. Same goes for the DS version.
To be honest, I even liked the Wii/PS2 version of the game a tiny bit more, due to it having less overall bugs and stuff like that. But yeah, it still sucked quite alot. And the daytime levels were really, really short, and rare.

Rush was crazy awesome, but Rush Adventure annoyed me ALOT. You had alot more fluff in there which you didn't need. Gathering items, objectives within levels, going from island to island... while Rush was just level-level-boss, level-level-boss. Like classic games. And while the special stages were more difficult in the first Rush, no way were they more difficult than in Sonic 2.

Overall, it's not hating the PS2/Wii version. It's hating UNLEASHED. There's one one good version of Sonic Unleashed. The java cellphone version.
