Actually, I now feel bad for the guy and I retract my statement about him deserving the harsh media coming his way.  If anything, I now think the harsh media should go to MLB in general for not having some form of instant replay system, which would've prevented such a travesty.  Human error is forgivable.
No instant replay? That's kinda strange. o_o

Gaming / Free Doctor Who game is out!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/theadventuregames/cityofthedaleks

Here you go. Game's pretty good, but I wasn't able to play much. It's by the creator of Broken Sword, so witty dialogue is at least a given.

Now, the download won't work for anyone outside the UK, so just use this:
http://www.daveproxy.co.uk/index.php?e=unique_mismatch&p=YToxOntpOjA7YjowO30=
Just paste the first link I gave there, and use it to download the game. I know, I know, if this counts as piracy, just gimme a warning and I'll remove the link. Because BBC plans to eventually SELL us the game, for us, in other areas, in JULY, MAYBE, I guess this was pretty much an early response to highway robbery the way fansubs are. Anyway, any kind of problem with this, and I'll remove it immediately. Just say the word, I don't want any trouble.

I don't think you fully understand what just happened though, so I'll calmly explain...

In baseball, a pitchers goal is to shut the offense of the opponents team down, to try and keep them from scoring runs so that your team can win.  This is not an easy task because baseball is full of great hitters that are trying their hardest to win.  In fact, a perfect game is probably the hardest achievement for a pitcher to get.  A Perfect Game means that you did not allow a hit or a runner on the base at all.  The pitcher has to get 27 straight outs.  To put things into perspective, over the 100+ year span of Baseball, with over 100+ games being played by over 25-30+ teams a YEAR, it has only been done 20 times in Baseball history.  20.  That's it.  Just 20 pitchers have done it.  I'm stressing this point so you can grasp how great, extremely hard, and impressive an achievement this is for a pitcher in baseball.

Well, today a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers named Armando Galarraga was 1 out away from pitching a Perfect Game.  On what should have been the final out, the umpire called the base runner safe.

This was what should have been the final out of Galarraga's perfect game.  As you can clearly see, the runner is out.  He is CLEARLY out.  95% of the time, closer plays at 1st base like this are still called out, but this was not a close play.  The runner was clearly out.  Galarraga was robbed of what is known as "baseball immortality" because of one of the worst blown ump calls in baseball history.  I'm not even a Detroit Tigers fans but when it comes to Perfect Games, pretty much all baseball fans, even fans of the team that is getting shutout, will pull together and root for that pitcher to get his perfect game.  So this whole thing infuriated me and made me sick to my stomach.  To have your perfect game taken away by a call like this is just unbelievable.

That's why I flew off the handle.
Not a baseball fan at all, but holy crap, the umpire actually did that? That doesn't just go against simple fair play morality, but to get him like that? OBVIOUS payroll.

Maybe we are wrong here flash. It might not just be unleashed

These scans are from Sonic Retro. I did not make them.

WHY. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY am I SUCH a sucker for beautiful levels. Because those levels DO look damn beautiful, and if the gameplay isn't just running forward and actually has powerup imput to conquer obstacles... they might GET IT RIGHT. But I won't get my hopes up. Nope, won't get fooled again until I watch some damn gameplay.

Rush 3 is still Rush 3 so far. 8D

He didn't just play a big part in making Wally awesome, but he made the Rogues so much more bad-ass than ever before.  I love what Wally tells Bruce after Capt. Boomerang kills Drake's father. "Your villains are crazy.  Mine are organized."  What I'm really happy with was that he didn't kill Kyle Rayner, my personal fav. GL.
Yep. And fully fleshed out origins for the Rogues in their own issues. That was awesome. And while Kyle was deemed to a less stand-off role, he's as awesome as ever in GLC. The Ion thing suited him for awhile, but now he's back to being a good ol' Green Lantern, leaving the tougher tasks to Sodam Yat. Who I still don't know what state is in, but grinned maliciously when his planet got doomed after he was plucked from the sun by who looks like Krona.

My personal favorite GL has got to be Guy Gardner, though. He was absolute GOLD back in the JLI, and still is. Not only does he seem like the most powerful of Lanterns (along with Kyle), honor guard and pretty much boss, kicking the Guardians' door down every couple of days, but he truly seems like the best damn guy on the force, maintaining a cool relationship with Kyle and Kilowog, while still chilling out and being friendly all over. His [dark hold] days are over and he evolved quite alot. I just hope this new Max Lord thing doesn't last long, he was so happy with Ice... ;_;

Hopefully thats only a portion of a few stages. I would like to see some fast paced, but not insanely fast platforming stages myself. Sonic doesn't always have to use the boost does he? Is the boost function really that necessary to make a good Sonic game?
Nope. I actually think that making SLOWER Sonic games would save the character. But Sonic Team won't hear it. "HE'S FAST, SO HE NEEDS TO BE FAST. SINGLEDIMENSIONAL CHARACTER TRAIT"

Heh, you're right.  Curse you Geoff, I'm all excited again.
I love and hate Geoff Johns so much. I hate it how he basically disregards all of the DC Universe's newer heroes in favor of their counterparts from the Silver Age. And how he killed Kal-L. ;________;

But in retrospect, I LOVE IT how he makes everything so awesome. He basically turns comic plots into anime, wish huge superpower wars between each other and final moves and transformations. =P Green Lantern: Rebirth was genius (although Flash: Rebirth's last issue just plain sucked compared to the rest) and I hope he continues to do stuff like this for a long time. Both him and Grant Morrison are into bringing back Golden/Silver age stuff and making it interesting again. So it's all good. Plus, Geoff made Guy a lantern again. Although I liked SOME of Warrior's hijinx (so how did it feel to get in touch with your feminine side, Guy? 8D) the comic just reeked of 90's "X-TREEEME" and I'm glad to see Hal back in the leading role, with Emerald Warriors and GLC as the comics of totally bro GLs kicking ass. And to be radically frank, all naysayers of Geoff replacing Wally with Barry should look at the fact that JOHNS PLAYED A BIG PART IN MAKING WALLY AWESOME. He wrote most of the 90's comic arcs, along with Waid, that got Wally to be a respected character we love. But Wally's grown too much. He got his wife, his kids, and his happy ending. Let's leave him to "end" as a main character who keeps suffering like all heroes do, and keep building on Barry, who could use a TON of quality character development.

*backs away slowly*

No offense but this is why I'm not into sports the fans get too hyped up and angry and the players act like they are the best people in everything when they don't realize that not one human can posses every skill possible not even in a single subject.  There will always be stronger, faster, and wiser people who can bring each other down, it is why a person can't fully support themselves whether it's a game or life.  Only when people work together in harmony with thier different streghts, styles, and perception can they be a force to be reckoned with.
Yeah that makes sense seeing how PB just blew up.
Sports, just like following a kind of fiction, or getting addicted to a series or something, is a passion. And seeing these players perform is unbelievably good. It sucks when stuff's unfair, and the whole rage is just part of the experience. There's no sports without rage and friends to share that rage with. It's mostly about getting a bunch of friends, a ton of beers, and watching the game.

Is Elite Beat Agents recent enough?
Sure. And I kinda meant I preferred recent games, but nothing wrong with any game really.

- (in my opinion) Agents get less stylish the more difficult the game gets.
- NO. JUST NO. To the selection of songs.
- No unlockable Ouendan team? For shame.
- Cool song. Yay! Cover version. BOO.
- No chance we'll ever, ever see a sequel.

Anyone expecting a better, more suited to the game level design this time? Fewer pitfalls and such. Talking about Unleashed 2.

Well if GL's or Lanterns of any kind aren't a class, then I'm probably definitely not getting it.  Don't get me wrong, Super Speed is my absolute favorite superpower, but I wanna be a Green Lantern!

LoL, and I believe it's called Flashpoint!   8D
No, Flashpoint is the Zoom Corps War. Look at the preview page again.

I know that I've constanly disiplined myself with that for most of my life, and I know there is a hell of a lot of room for improvement.  For example my rythms are not very stable and I take a slower approch to learning music, that's the main reason I didn't make it so I have to work on that.
Good! Now wax on, wax off, Daniel-San! Get to stabilizing your rythm, improving your overall tone and try to get more control over quick pitch changes, for example.

Just don't get the "I know I'm better than them even though I didn't make it in!" attitude. No matter how good you are, you're not good ENOUGH. So practice everyday, keep training, and eventually, you'll get there. And never stop improving. Ever. Because there are always ways to improve. Be firm with yourself, not overly tough, but also not overly lenient. If you're told you're not as good as them, you need to practice harder. That's all there is to it.

It IS a win button though, in that you can spam it with no real penalty/recoil time in the least. You press the button over and over, while Sonic does things automatically until there's no more targets in his immediate range. 8D

At least with the various things that occurred in the 3D Marios, it wasn't so much a "free pass". Melee attacks in 64 required you to get up close and personal, with danger to yourself still present, since Mario didn't have invincibility frames on his moves. FLUDD had, fundamentally speaking, "limited ammunition". The Galaxies had the spin attack which had a "reload" time before you could use it again.

For Homing Attack to be a base ability available to the central character of a platformer without upgrades/power-ups, it's a pretty busted ability, admittedly. And if the best that Sega could do to "account" for the ability is integrate "enemy bridges" as a part of the level design, then that's just another facet that represents something's not quite right with the overall design of the game/games.

If Super Castlevania's "limp whip" isn't immune from this type of critique (and I love that game to pieces), then the Homing Attack certainly is not something that can be ignored either, in my eyes.
Sega got around this by placing stuff like the electric shielded enemies and the robots that had shields and needed a summersault to the legs to die. It's not like the homing attack is invincible either. If you use it without aim just to get velocity, you might lose control and fall off whatever platform you're in. If you have any other idea of how to control speedy spin jumps to kill enemies with precision, you have my attention. But as far as I'm concerned, the homing attack is simply a means to play the game, just like the other attacks. SA1 and 2 had levels adapted for the homing attack and Sonic's other abilities. They worked.

Strangely, Sega is one of the few companies who can actually make money on the Wii besides Nintendo. I guess that's why this game won't have a PS3/360 version.
