I used free version of swift shader to make everything visible(because I COULD run it, it's just that everything was blaaack) and on a very low res, it was running quite good... in the menu, because when it came to game it never loaded me the actual gameplay. ;_;
also, that [tornado fang]ing swift shader thumbnail... fffff.
Runs as smoothly as it can on the menu for me... gameplay is slow as hell with one frame per second.

Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
Right oooon!

Tatsunoko vs Capcom:
- Why are we still being forced to make teams? Why can't we just fight one-on-one?
- Viewtiful Joe ain't as awesome as he should be.
- JAP soundtrack should be available in the US version. It ain't.
- I don't care what anyone says. Without move spamming and using a tired strategy, that damn ball is the most frustrating, cheapest boss I ever fought against in any fighting game.
- Why no EVA 01, Tatsunoko? I wanna kick Shinji's ass.

So very true. Also, Final Smashes are just ass. Some are broken to the point of no return and some are utterly useless.

Was Portal done?
Nope! I'll get right to it.

Portal:
- It's basically a Half-Life 2 mod.
- Very short.
- Spurred annoying net memes that weren't very funny, and are still out today.
- Jonathan Coulton isn't a very good musician. And no, he is not the alpha and omega of all musical creation.
- Confusing ending.

Dammit, I was gonna make this topic... eventually. =P

Anyway, are you gonna go by the standard 5 good things to say, or some other? And can we take requests too?

I'll put on a few requests of my own.

- Vampire Rain.

- Sonic the Hedgehog 2006

- Castlevania: Judgement.

Let's see you find good stuff in these. =P

Well, it does require a pixel shader.
Too bad for me.
Shame the music is in such low quality. : <

Still ,gonna give it a listen.

Also, APPARENTLY, installer connects with the internet.
Go figure.
I've made it able to run, but it still runs slow as hell. It doesn't help that the options only make you able to change the resolution and the graphics from low, standard, high and very high. Come on, where are the textures option? Shadows? Other stuff!

I don't know, it still looks like Unleashed 2 to me.  And Unleashed wasn't a bad formula in theory, Sega just cocked it up like they do everything else.

The same thing'll probably happen here.  The gameplay mechanics will actually be decent, but the level design and execution of certain features will be so bad as to make the game frustrating to play at best.

There's nothing that says Sonic isn't running 300 miles per hour like in Unleashed either.
Unleashed was just "running forward". If they take out the boost and make it so the game plays something like Secret Rings, it might be halfway decent.

You guys think you might want to take that discussion to a separate thread?
Sorry, I guess the comic thread deserves this a bit more.

Anyway, confirmed cities are Gotham and Metropolis. I'm guessing Gotham will always have nighttime, and Metropolis, daytime. And a ton of people will probably be brooding silent Batmen standing in Gotham's gargoyles as huge groups, going "NO, I AM THE DARK VIGILANTE OF GOTHAM!"

So I'm going Metropolis. =P Can't wait to go villain and topple the Daily Planet globe.

What are the system requirements?
Just tell me if it expects from a card to have pixel shader.
The site has a requirement checker. It doesn't run on my incredibly old Pentium 4, that's for sure.

That's the thing, though. The way that Sonic was designed in 2D was what made it so that it became even more of a challenge to try and convert him into the 3D realm. What they've been trying to do for the last decade is basically just take some aspects of the 2D formula, focus on the speed portion of that and take into the 3D realm. It hasn't worked nearly as well as it could have, and the Homing Attack, much like every thing else, comes off as a half-assed mechanic that has been allowed to fester for too long.

To me, the simple answer would have been to take advantage of a model that works: any where from Mario's 3D outings, to Dante in DMC, you get a a good idea of how to adequately control a character in 3D space, with precision AND speed (especially in Dante's case, where going between a multitude of foes, killing them in a speedy fashion is actually part of the game itself).

Since they seem to have a love for making Sonic do things beyond just running and jumping now-a-days any way, I would have thought a well done, easy to grasp melee aspect would have been a part of the mix long before even the likes of the Werehog or Sword-wielding reared its head (and doing it poorly, no less). The way Sonic performs in Brawl is pretty much how I could have imagined some thing of this sort employed in the actual games a long time ago. Bonus points if they could have integrated Sonic's some what playful/daredevil nature into such a thing, like the anime-cuts in Sonic CD seemed to hint at.

If they really wanted 3D/new-style Sonic to be different beast altogether (much like 3D Mario is to its 2D counter-part), they should have taken advantage of the new medium as a way for Sonic to do things he couldn't do in the 2D space, and furthermore, things that could ONLY work in the 3D realm. But more than a decade after Sonic has "officially" come into the 3D reality, and he's STILL trying to do a lot of the exact same things as before.

So, I can't stress it enough: Sega has done a lot to undermine the potential that Sonic could have had in the 3D arena. But it is what it is, at this point.
The melee attack wouldn't work well from a gameplay perspective. Remember how most people who can't direct Sonic when playing Brawl, just spin him all over the place, and many times fall off platforms. The homing attack is necessary, because Sonic games have never been about very tough enemies. They've been about straight progression. And no, Sonic is trying to do much more than before. It's the very notion that they haven't been able to make him do more than before, that makes the games bad in the first place. They tried to work weapons into Shadow, sword attacks into Black Knight, and even psychic attacks into Silver's gameplay in 06. But it failed, because Sonic works better as a character of straight progression, and the homing attacks make sense. They've basically like a lock-on mechanism, doesn't mean instant win. He uses it for progression, mostly. You gave an example of Mario and Dante. But it's much different. They don't move at the speed Sonic does, to which would be much difficult to implement a straight combat mechanic that isn't locked on.

Haha, I think Ganthet is going to honor Sayd's request......for now!  XD

I think they've been trying to humanize Sinestro since the 80's and Emerald Dawn.  But yeah, he's still clearly an ass.  Hell, he always has been.  He's always had my respect as a villain.

As I was discussing with Quickie at the end of Blackest Night, I'm not convinced the Indigo Tribe are all that good.  Like what was stated earlier, the further the light is away from the green, the more the power has control over the wielder.  From what it looks like to me, Indigo-1 is not entirely good, and is similar to Larfleeze.  Whereas Larfleeze kills and steals their identity for his Corps, Indigo-1 could possibly take people's free will away, forcing them to join her tribe.  It looked like some of the members of the Indigo Tribe have a mental communication with one another, and were trapped and asking for help.
Not to say Sayd can't handle herself, but Larfleeze will have his own problems to face on Earth soon enough. If he starts rampaging, he'll have not just GL, but Superman, Flash and the others to deal with.
Sinestro is one of the few respectable villains DC has. Like Hal says, he IS a big glowing fascist, but that doesn't stop him from having reasons to do it. =P

And I'm still not sure. The Atom didn't seem mind-controlled, although he could suddenly speak their language. And the Indigos played an essencial part in the Blackest Night, essencially saving the world by gathering everyone.

Larfleeze also seems to be in big trouble due to the upcoming Lex Luthor-centered series. Where he steals Lois for himself and goes on a quest to get the orange ring back. XD

I'm not mad, or yelling. And I think it's meant that you can't argue my opinion. Not that we can't argue period. The topic said to post things we hate about a game, I did. Then you got upset and tried to argue it. I'm saying that I thought we where not supposed to do that, that's all.

tl;dr Whats wrong about hating a game and everything about it anyways? Isn't that what this tread is for? Bitching about games??
You CAN nitpick about things that are your opinion. But you have to at least build in it. If not, this entire thread would be:

- GAMEPLAY SUCKS
- LEVEL DESIGN SUCKS
- VISUAL DESIGN SUCKS
- AUDIO SUCKS
- WEAPONS SUCK

My reason is the best reason. I just like free [parasitic bomb]. And I hate paying money for games that are only "okay." I can buy food and gas with my money.
Me too. But whenever I download or pirate a game, unless I'm REALLY REALLY achin' to play it, even if it's a good game, I just don't feel motivated to do it. Feels like playing a borrowed game. Doesn't feel like I "own" it, unless there's no other way to get it.

Culture lives on. And you replied with the train thing and local violence to replies which were basically glorifying 80's culture.

I doubt Sinestro knows fully.  If there's one GL he hates close to Hal level, I think it would be Kyle.  That's just me though.  Also, I don't think Sora's getting fridged anytime soon, cause she's too good of a character.  I love the whole Medic Lantern aspect to her.  Also I don't think Jade is going to cause any Kyle Sora friction.  That issue seemed to already be resolved in another comic.

Well we've already seen what has become of poor Sayd.  Also, in regards to Sinestro, I don't think this is his redemption at all.  Like you said, his personality is still the same, and I think so are his beliefs.  He truly believes fear to be a more effective way to bring order to the universe, cause he proved that it worked in his sector.  In regards to Abin Sur, I don't think we're done with his story yet due to the Indigo Tribe.  They are still a mystery in all of this, and Abin Sur is tied to them somehow.
I think Sinestro just doesn't care. But time will tell. He doesn't seem to HATE Kyle as much, but yeah, has quite alot of friction there. And generally enjoys being cruel to everyone and tearing up Ferris Air property. =P And we've already seen SOME amount of friction in Brightest Day so far. We'll just have to bide our time to see if it follows.

And Sayd? Look at Ganthet in GLC. Dude looks like Midget Hercules. Fulla manliness, making his own ring manually. Being AWESOME generally. You think he's gonna let anything bad happen to his woman? =P And although Sinestro has his beliefs, you see how Secret Origin and the whole Blackest Night arc have been trying to humanize him? I'm not saying his acts are justified or that his attitude will change, BY FAR, but heck, I'm all for his ideals regarding not letting the stuck-up Guardians decree how the universe should be ran. Arin Sur as a lover served to make people see him as someone with feelings, with a justified hatred of injustice. And being the first White Lantern, fulfilling his mission, not for himself, but for Abin Sur, made me respect him alot. I'm guessing people are gonna start looking at him differently, no matter how much of an ass he still might be. =P

And yeah, you're right about the Indigo Tribe and Abin Sur. I kinda forgot about that for a moment. Geoff said in today's interview that we can expect to see them and William Hand as a new recruit later this year. So far, they seem friendly. So maybe they'll help after the Predator mess is taken care of. Let's get ready for the 90's-influenced beast that's gonna be the Star Sapphire's very own villainous entity, in his comic with a cover full of bondage. =P

Marvel HAS announced its version. And then cancelled it. And then replaced it with that chibi-looking mini superheroes MMO thing. Sucks to be awaiting that right now.

If you see a photo of an MTA subway train from the 80s and compare it to one of today, you'll see what I mean.
MTA subway trains = world. 8D

The 80's were more awesome as a whole. In terms of culture, music, and ideals overall. Just because you had a few problems, don't bring the rest of us down.

My bad... Anywho... lessee...

Garfield: Caught in the Act (I know it's old, but still)

If you haven't played that one then... Animal Crossing.
Animal Crossing then.

- No straight objectives.
- It's basically a Facebook game. You get in, do stuff for 5 minutes, then get out.
- It's a very small world after all.
- NOOK. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK!
- The villagers are really, REALLY annoying.

Did someone already request SSBB (Er, Brawl)?
Nope. Not that I can remember.

- Some games are just TOO big.
- Subspace Emissary is confusing as hell.
- What the hell? Why has Samus and others been gimped this much?
- Such potencial... and such incredibly crappy online. LLLLLLAAAAAAAAAGGGG.
- Franklin badges are too hard to see. I don't know when a character has them or not.

YES. Look at it. Beautiful levels. AMAZING colors. The way everything just seems to be a siren song for us who love big fantasy worlds to play around in with bouncy stuff.

...still gonna pirate it in the most illegal way I can guess. >____> If I am happy with it, then I'll GLADLY give away my money for it. For both, even. But I'm NOT risking it.

80s aren't as great as you think they are. We wouldn't be able to go to Herald Square by ourselves without getting shot/mugged if it were still the 80s.

Also: The news anchors were ugly.
Speak for yourself. the 80's were a great time in other parts of the world. Fantastic games, INCREDIBLE music, movies and shows, there was LESS violence over here, and fashion and culture in general was colorful and happy. No emo.

- look at me, i'm a stupid little bastard with a net
- catching monkeys
- horrible soundtrack
- the camera sucks
- the gameplay is stupid
You could be a bit more constructive with your criticism.

- Stun plus net gets a bit frustrating to do at times.
- Although it's a novel approach to the second analog stick, the R/C car doesn't always handle well.
- While we're on that, few people had the controller with the analog sticks required for this game. =P Some games had it bundled, but were more expensive.
- Last level brings forth some parts that seem more like tightropes to walk through. This isn't very fun in a platformer.
- Fights themselves are nothing special.

I love the fact that Kyle is dating Soranik.  Heh, I can only imagine how Sinestro is going to react to that once he finds out!  XD

And yeah, my first guess was Krona as well.  It just makes the most sense, but who knows.  Geoff is good at surprises!  As for Guy, seems like he's going to have his own trouble to worry about in his new comic.  I think Stewart is taking over his Honor Guard status.  BTW, I think Ganthet as a GL is BAD-FUCKIN'-ASS!
Sinestro probably already knows. I don't think he cares much about who she dates, as long as she's safe, and taking care of Korugar. So far, she seems to be doing a good job. Although Sinestro got the Korugar job back in the Blackest Night. (hoping Mongul doesn't get out of that battery soon, since I'm tired of him coming back constantly in recent GL arcs) I really like Sora, and I seriously hope she doesn't get fridged like the others. Although I'm expecting Jade's return to create some unwanted tensions within the Rayner household. =P

Ganthet, taking over as a GL and actually having an active duty makes me wonder what's going to happen to the Blue Lantern Corps. (and to poor Sayd) Saint Walker is more than capable of leading the pack, but they had few members as it was. I'm kinda expecting all the Corps to be maintained, since the main members can actually form these "New Guardians" we've already seen on two different covers. It's a no-brainer who they are, but WHY would Hal and Sinestro join forces indefinetly? They're pretty much mortal enemies. Sinestro CAUSED all of Parallax's stuff to happen. That pretty much ruined all of Hal's life, plus caused Zero Hour. So far, Sinestro's trying to be redeemed without changing his personality, but even so, I can't believe they would join forces just like this. After all that's happened. And is Abin Sur's mission been led to a close? Has the last of his legacy been truly revealed?
