I just had the time of my life tounge lashing some ignorant dipshit on Gelbooru, complaining on because I'm not asian, anything I upload and/or edit, must be deleted. Not taking into account the fact that the artist probably wasn't asian either. Thus proving him to be a hypocrite.

Man I feel good, and now I have a headache.
Ah, gotta love internet weeaboo elitists. In their own minds, nobody can ever be as kawaii as them.

I have. There was this one place in Queens that made true, authentic style Italian pizza, as the people were straight from Italy. It was probably the best I've ever had. One day I'll get to Italy just to try some.
Never... ever... EVER the same. =P Trust me, whatever is the restaurant, no matter how the food seems to taste, it ALWAYS tastes different from the original. I've gone to several good italian restaurants abroad, all claiming to have real classic pizza recipe, and although they try, it's never really the same. I also know this because portuguese restaurants abroad (I think there's quite a few in NY) although being ran by portuguese people, NEVER have the food tasting the same as the one I get over here. It's the same with every single restaurant. I have NO idea why. Fresh foreign ingredients maybe? I dunno. But there's always a very different kind of taste to everything. It's this way with every case.

I assume nobody here has tried actual Italian pizza. It's like an orgasm in your mouth. Had it only twice in my life, but DAMN, well worth the trip.

Personally, I don't think this is bad game design. It demands careful playing is all. It could even happen to you in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood if you got too careless. >_>;
How is it not bad level design to have your life bar completely depleted because the game let the enemy attack faster than you can get up? That basically is one-hit kill, only you have to sit there and watch your character slowly die instead of dying outright. And even more recent games have that, which is unexcuseable. A game stops being challenging and starts being BAD when instead of fighting the enemies and challenges in the game, you have to withstand the bullshit provided by the badly coded game engine.

Again though, to me this all seems pretty straight-forward. This is the same guy who's been basically doing everything and including up to pleading to fans of Vampire to hit up Capcom, so that he can get the opportunity to work on a game. For the last two years, no less. He got a chance to sell his idea to Inafune last week, and he "won out". In cases like this, the most straight forward answer is usually the best one.

Also, for the most part, we can say this about Capcom's production studios now-a-days: there's not much in the way of intersection. Ono's team (SF4) and Nitsuma's team (TvC,MvC3) are both fighting game development teams, but they haven't collaborated for any of their past projects and have no plans to do as such in the future. They actually preferred the notion of bringing in outsiders like Dimps (SF4) and Eighting (TvC), as opposed to any "internal" help from other Capcom teams.

That's why Capcom, and hell, a number of Japanese companies has these multiple "Production Studios" for this very reason. The different teams are allowed to govern themselves and work autonomously. And believe it or not, the notion of how there is "competition" amongst these various teams inside such companies is still alive and well, to a good extent. That's why you don't see "big scale collaboration efforts" comprising of several teams at once. If Ono and Niitsuma weren't forced to work together for the sake of MvC3 (which should be a fairly big deal for Capcom), then we're likely never to see them work together on a fighting game together. And maybe, that might be for the best, giving the two's decidedly different approaches on fighting games...
That's some pretty interesting insight. Well, I guess fighting game it is, then. But for him to consider it bigger than SF4, I'm curious about it.

A Captain Commando game would actually be pretty awesome.

...also, does anyone other than me think Captain Commando's an obvious Booster Gold ripoff? =P Design-wise, it reminds me of him ALOT.

I still say the default guy looks way too much like the Dragon Warrior hero.

LOL @ spin-attacking a swarm of chickens.  I knew the game was a Zelda knockoff, but I didn't know it was that shameless.
It's the most shameless knockoff it can be. It cries out its shamelessness many times throughout the whole game, and its loading screens are likenesses of old game covers, replaced with pixelated characters. It's, in a whole, a HUGE homage to 2D Zelda.

Wow.
Fantastic. Benefits?

Not really. Inafune is the current head of Capcom R&D, which basically makes him the designated HNIC amongst all the Executive Producers. If you, as an internal producer, want to get a game proposal to see the light of day, you have to "sell" your idea to him. If Inafking likes it, you can then get something started.

You need not look any further than what happened "last time", really:

- 20: Bettenhausen, Shane. "The Big Comeback". EGM (Ziff Davis): pp. 62–72.
Inafune might want several teams working on this, though. Might be a BIG project Capcom have got going on, and they'd rather not tell.

Alright then.

Where do we stand on Zelda ripoffs? And can someone name them all without looking at the images' source?

2664
But in any case, what Ono is talking is definitely talking about what he did earlier this week, when he had his time with Inafune. And not likely anything else.
Your two reasons are fair, but wouldn't this last point justify the "different thing other than a fighter"?

Hell, maybe it's a new franchise!

It didn't exactly say that everything you did was utterly meaningless... unless that is as far as your mental scope can handle. I suppose that means robots that can think and feel have no souls? There is no humanity in anything but something that is purely human? Are you able to make such decisions yourself and easily deny them existence? Is your understanding that limited? These are the kind of questions it actually asks, as opposed to what it tells you. Your limitation determines what the game is saying.

Also, "typical JRPG plot/dialogue" doesn't spell awful, that is an opinion. But hey, these are all opinions. I just feel my opinion has more merit, I gave it more thought and decided not to dismiss it simply because of limitations of the self or stupid popular opinions.
- Have life

The CONCEPT is good, tell you that. But it's not only Matrix-clichéd, it's also VERY flawed in execution and in actually bringing anything meaningful to the table. The twist, instead of a "whoa, this really is a brave new world", spits in the player's faces instead of actually being anything that matters. I pretty much stopped caring about it from that point on, because it felt unnecessary.

Better yet. This happened to me in The Force Unleashed today.

There is this level on this plant planet, where everything is giant mushrooms and the sort. This game pretty much loves to put little physics effects on everything in order to make it look impressive. The gameplay suffers for it alot, because there are inaccessible areas everywhere, which prefer to bug out instead of having invisible walls for us to know we're not supposed to go there.

I see a holocron in a higher platform, jump into this plant platform that's supposed to help me, it BUGS OUT, rubber-bands somehow, stretching to ridiculously buggy proportions, and it catapults my character to the roof where he gets stuck. I have to restart from the damn checkpoint.

I've always been one level from them for some reason... but then again, Dragon Age was produced by EA. :P
It remains a Bioware product, specially since it's been in development for YEARS before the EA buy.

Well yeah... hence why I specified ones that suck :P (for example Sonic Unleashed)
That kinda reminds me of those games that suddenly have that tiny camera icon that says I can't move my camera here or there whenever I push the right analog. And sometimes, it's in tough parts. I never understood why, but those camera angles always suck in certain games. Devil May Cry, for example, has awful angles for platforming. Heck, awful jumping controls while we're at it. It's stupid that only Bayonetta actually evolved that kind of jumping.

I don't know why, but I notice that I've made a slight improvement controlling the FPS camera while playing Borderlands. By the way, this is still my first time playing an FPS (although the Borderlands case said that the game was a "role-playing shooter" or something like that).
You'll grow to love the control style. Seriously, controlling two analog sticks is incredibly liberating to a character's movement in a console.

That sounds familiar. Oh I know! "And so popular opinion is right?"

Huh. Yeah, something like that.  :\

I think it was written particularly well. But you generally say that about all JRPGs. Incidentally, most fan bases are split by decisions like that, doesn't mean it was bad, just not your cup of tea.
Funny, because you're the one single person I ever talked to who ever said he enjoyed the Star Ocean 3 twist. Seriously, I don't think alot of people like "everything you've done so far is fake and utterly meaningless". And narratively, it had the typical JRPG kind of plot/dialogue. Which pretty much spells "awful".

Well, I think I remember spending DAYS to level up Goofy to Sora's level in Kingdom Hearts, and having all my Pokemon in others to match other's levels longer. Also, I forgot NWN was like that. :P

I consider Dragon Age to be EA property.. unless that was another RPG with "Dragon" within the title. But yeah, it kinda felt long, like both Izuna games. some take waay too long to level and you level in SECONDS.

Plus I felt that way because I didn't have Omega in my party earlier in the game, he's sorta the "Massimo" scenario. Cheap, easy to level up, and effective.
Levelling up in Kingdom Hearts is a non-issue unless you want all of the extra stuff, I think. You just have to take your own time exploring the game instead of rushing through the beautiful scenery like an impatient mofo, and you'll be fine in terms of levelling. Heck, in KH2, Donald and Goofy are always one level ahead of you, something which has bothered me quite alot. =P

As for Dragon Age, it is PURE Bioware. The purest. It's the closest thing to Baldur's Gate they put out, and in a way, possibly their best RPG yet.

But yeah, Neverwinter Nights isn't meant to be a single player RPG, but more of a toolset to build D&D campaigns with all your options. Heck, do you know how Bioware hires writers? They have people send them D&D campaigns written in Neverwinter.

Pretty much only multiplayer games in which I'm playing with friends or online with a team of people, ala Halo. Otherwise nothing.
...I missed what actually bothers you in those games.

I tried to counter multipule times, but I always can't find that damn button. >.>

Areas otherwise inaccessable to lesser skilled players, sometimes that can really [acid burst] me off. Like the time I had to USE A SAVE to get past the gates of the Last Cave nearly drove me nuts to no end.

RPGs are known for grinding, but Bioware's games are infamous for their longer grinding times that most RPGs, it's like you have to take trips back in forth in Sonic Chronicles and/or Neverwinter Nights to a town for an enemy to RESPAWN and touch you to enter a battle. Hhhrgh.
Funnily, I've played a ton of RPGs in all of my life, and I consider Bioware's RPGs the least-grindable ones. Play KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age... All of those games, you never need to grind ONCE. Sonic Chronicles was the only RPG they've done JRPG-style, and it was done by a new team, but although it had its fair share of problems, I didn't do any grinding. And Neverwinter Nights was more meant as a D&D PC playset than an actual game in itself, to be honest.

I do hate grinding in RPGs. It's what turns me off from RPGs in the first place. But Bioware's my favorite company, specially because I think they don't make RPGs like that. Hell, I think it's impossible to grind in some of their games.

Games that manage to still have sections with forced camera angles that suck. How are we supposed to make a proper jump if we can't even judge the jump well in the first place?
Certain camera-angled games actually make those bits easier. It's what Mario Galaxy nailed really well. The perfect angles to do platforming in.
