I probably would too if Lou & I didn't have our Cap/Spidey rivalry going.

And by rivalry, I mean Cap constantly kicking my Spider Ass!  8D
Spidey's probably not gonna be in it, so just SUCCUMB TO THE CAP SIDE.

I know this made old news and not surprising but what do you think of this:

http://www.watchmencomicmovie.com/072110-watchmen-rights-alan-moore.php
I kinda agree with the guy on one thing. Watchmen doesn't need a sequel. It's probably the one comic book that needs a sequel THE LEAST. It was made during the Cold War, with a Cold War message. It's meant to stay in that time, and still be relevant today. A sequel would [tornado fang] it up. That, and Alan Moore just plain HATES DC.

Also, what would he do with the Watchmen rights? Prevent them from making sequels? OH RIGHT, he would have had to make a sequel to obtain them in the first place. Alan doesn't even like Watchmen anymore, due to the importance DC placed upon it, and the way it's been popularized as a movie. So let the cranky old man in the woods be alone with his Glycon worship.

MAYBE THERE'S STILL HOPE?

*looks for Blue Ring* Maybe....
It's a movie property. No matter how good it is, it'll still be Tron outfit Hal Jordan, with Deadpool's face. I'll be waiting for an actual good game adaptation of GL, seeing as his comic is rising in popularity. Maybe we'll get it someday.

Ameratsu's long range attacks look awesome, although a bit all-powerful. Thor seems to kick an amazing amount of ass. I just know I'm gonna main the Avenger trio.

Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions Voice Actors

All I can say is WOW! That's fan-[tornado fang]ing-tastic, and I mean that literally.  Getting all the previous voice actors of Spidey together for one game?  This might have sold me! (I'll probably still borrow Lou's and try it out first though!)
Great on NPH's Spidey. And when it comes to WB Interactive Studios games, what's their track record with games? Track record of a company says EVERYTHING about how something turns out. Let's see...

There has yet to be a Super fight in a Sonic game which actually does what it's supposed to.

Make you FEEL all-powerful, instead of changing the gameplay to a few simple imputs.

You're missing the point, in my eyes. The basic thing that made Smash so good in the past was because it DID allow you to play in any style you wanted. Wanted to go for the ultimate in silliness? Go right ahead. Wanted to make it so that it actually became more about individual skill, and less on luck of the draw? Also great! It only really became a problem, in Brawl's case, because Sakurai pretty did everything to shut-out those who wanted to play in the style they wanted to play on the technical end. Removing the likes of WD-ing and etc. is fair, but then they added in completely random things like tripping and what-not. So, in that light, that's what caused people to actually actively seek out ways of making the game in the way they want to. Some of the results are truly a sight to behold. Now we've even got people making their own stages and character skins, among so many others. I've got my precious Roy back, among others!  8D

But in any case, what's it to you if people get enjoyment out of playing the game a certain way? There's no "wrong way" to play the game, and being so insistent on what you consider the "right way" makes you just as bad as the "snobs" on the other side. Just sayin'.  8D

ANY WAY. Back on topic. Tomorrow shall be the day of reckoning. Ono's twitter talks about "more than 2 announcements" to be made at the fighting game panel tomorrow. Could stand to be a very good time to be a fighting game fan...
Allowed you to play in any style you wanted, of course. One style was using the whole game, and the other style was being limited to three to four characters, turning off items, just using Final Destination and stock lives. That's as if people found some kinda really cool level in a game to constantly speedrun in, and in the game's sequel, that level, or the abilities they used in certain characters within the level, were gone. It pissed me off when people hogged the console at the game store simply playing the same level, with the same characters, over and over and over again. I say screw those dudes. Sakurai made the game, he's got the right to turn it into anything he wants to it.

Because thats always how they are labeled? o.o
Labeled, yeah. But it's kinda... "It's not a toy, it's a COLLECTABLE FIGURINE!" or "It's not a racing video game, it's a SIMULATOR!"

It's a title to get people to take it more seriously. A stupid title. It's like when they called every single FPS of the early 00's "A Halo-killer". It's a way to sell it, but it's still a damn stupid name.

I'd just like the name Rock if the series was about two buddy cops, Rock and Roll. And they solved crimes and stuff by doing big shoot-outs while ranting about their ex-wives and whining about being too old for this [parasitic bomb].

It was already posted in this topic.

All it's describing is the format, not the quality or type of reading material x3  And I was jus curious what he meant by "hard-cover"
But why call it that? It's a hardcover comic. It's a paperback comic. It's a trade comic. There, three separate distinctions for the three separate kinds of comics.

Why "graphic novel"? Sounds like pretentious drivel.

2312
Lol what.
Whats that got to do with anything.
All because its land of the free doesnt mean you get to steal things. reading manga online IS pirating, after all.
And while we might not give a [parasitic bomb], publishers and mangakas who want money do.
Exactly. Just because a bunch of idealists think all intellectual property should be free and information should be accessed by everyone freely, that doesn't mean people want their work going all over the net to others who haven't paid for it. So, yeah. Realistically, there isn't any kind of market for most manga in the US. Let's just be happy the popular ones get here at all, and rely on pirating to read the rest. We're doing something wrong, but it is because we want it. Simple as that.

This is a big crossover game, and I think Inafune wants to make it something international. Megaman was more popular than Rockman (he says) so I guess it's just a way to standardize the game all over. Only western players care about that boxart thing, for example.

Entertainment / Re: GENERAL COMIC BOOK THREAD (MANGA NOT ALLOWED)

So it's a-okay to pirate?
I pirate pretty much every single comic I read. And if I enjoy it ALOT, and consider it something awesome, I buy it on trades and later on paperback to fit on the shelf. If I think it's good and integral to this or that storyline, I wait for the paperback edition to come out and get it.

...if I don't like it, I don't buy it. =P Thing is, this makes me buy a TON of comics, seeing as having them in your hand is a completely different experience than reading them on your PC. I love to experience both on every single comic I read. Reading them carefully on your hand is that one ritual I repeat with every single comic book, but reading them on a .cbr format on your computer, gets you to locate tiny details, and appreciate the art a whole lot more in a bigger format. Basically, I follow what I like, and still have all my main series pre-ordered in the store as soon as they come out. Most people who follow comics do this, because comic stores can't always keep all of the recent trades in and many times end up selling everything.

It's a good way to read comics without being spoiled just because you obtain your comic a week later when it comes out.

2316
Graphic Novel?
That reminds me of a story when Neil Gaiman once went to this one author convention...

"Comics are the lowest form of crap there is."
"You know... I write a comic."
"Oh? Which one?"
"Sandman."
"Sandman?! But that's not a comic! That's a GRAPHIC NOVEL!"

Basically, the distinction is bullshit. =P I don't care if it's printed in a prettier format. It's a [chameleon sting]ing comic.

2317
Dunno if any of you actually READ the Twilight mango, but what I read, the dude who made the narrative transition actually tried to make an effort so it wouldn't go to complete [parasitic bomb]. The art is Deviantart-grade stuff, but the script itself isn't amazingly bad. It's just Twilight, but they made a decent transition. You also get to see how ridiculous the whole thing is, since it's based of the book rather than the movie. So, yeah. Mary-Sue Bella at her whole potencial, and Eddy with a skin that glows like Las Vegas at night. All in all, it was a fairly entertaining half an hour. (and I'm sad to say, but still better than quite alot of the comics/manga I sometimes find).

But yeah. There's not enough demand for unpopular manga around here for it to be profiteable. A store only orders a few copies of whatever [parasitic bomb] we're into, if they can be sure that [parasitic bomb]'s gonna sell. And your corner store in the middle of the town you live is not gonna have it waiting for YOU.

A good solution would be a net subscription. Problem is, what would you pay, and would you pay for more, or less manga every week? Not everyone likes every manga the japanese magazines offer. And the service being currently used for comics is still very much an experiment, to see if the audience accepts it. Manga authors don't want to go through all that [parasitic bomb] just to provide to the small number of people who read this or that manga, so they just sue so they don't get their material outside.

What I don't understand, is the need for companies to sue over small-time manga that few people read and which is never gonna get published here, like Otaku no Musume-San, which was taken off OneManga awhile ago due to copyright enfringement. It's a kind of manga very much in tune with japanese culture, and really not something that'd sell. WHY sue over that, and not over Naruto, Bleach or One Piece?

It's just kinda stupid.

Every game after S3K has tried to copy Doomsday Zone, and they all failed. It's about damn time SS gets to flex his muscles outside of final bosses.
I liked the Super battles of Adventure 1 and 2. But everything after that failed redundantly.

...hell, for all I absolutely loved of Rush, I really didn't like its final battle.

They should chill with the classic series for now.

By the way, shouldn't this topic be on one of the Megaman forums? 'Cause... you know... there's plenty of them around here. >_>;;;

This. seriously, this. theres no reason they should just make manga sites close. just make them pay per read. you pay a monthly or so fee, and get manga or something like that.
Official sites would be something pretty sweet. Get a license for each manga's net editions, then sell them individually online. Or sell a quickly translated version of Shonen Jump/whatever other mag a day later, online.

Toss in Super Tails as well, and i'm game. Seriously, i always enjoyed watching those flickies attacking enemies in my path.

Fond, fond memories... 8D
I loved torturing those bastards in Sonic 3D. (I was one of the few people who liked that game for what it was instead of complaining that it wasn't like the others)

But I think super forms should be a bit grounded. Sure, throw in Super Sonic, but I'm kinda tired of seeing Sonic go Super on every single game, on every single final boss. It lost its sense of surprise and awe.

I went from hating you when I first met you, to liking you over time.

But after this....

YOU ARE MY GODDAMN HERO!
Thank you. Look forward to me making you rage about a topic you're slightly passionate about.

To be fair I'm modding the hell out of the game's soundtrack, but even I have to laugh when game mods are created for the FULL AND SOLE PURPOSE of altering the physics engine.

There are only 400 billion different modes one can come up with in Smash and half the internet has to make it NO ITEMS FOX ONLY FINAL DESTINATION.  My favorite Brawl moment was taking an FD engine of destruction into Yoshi's Island Melee, where he found out that he doesn't know how to fight on a slope.  A freaking SLOPE.  That's one hell of an unbalanced stage hazard, right?
Modding game soundtracks is fair and square on any game that doesn't allow for custom soundtracks. I ALWAYS like to keep my own soundtracks to listen to when playing pretty much anything. No idea why only 360 games do that nowadays.

And Jesus. Honestly, why do people care about tourneying in Brawl? It's a friggin' party game! Wow, Melee had tournament potencial. Big friggin' deal, the game was awesome, but it's meant to be played for fun, not with tons of limits. The actual spirit of a Smash Bros game is the way anyone can pick it up, throw items, beat others up, and just have plenty of fun. When I see some dude complaining about wavedashing and crap like that, I feel like puking.

The Kotaku article said that "fans began shouting for Legends 3" before Inafune said "Thank you". I dunno if they'd make two big Megaman games in a year, but maybe.
