You know how people who love original voices cringe so much at regular, professional dubs and stuff?

Those guys are PROFESSIONAL, do what's pretty much an amazing job with small tones, sounds and fluidity, and still they get quite alot of criticism for their voices.

Any amateur, no matter how close the voice is to this or that, can not compare to anything regarding quality. Specially with home recording equipment, crappy headsets and stuff like that.

But I say keep doing it. You're putting good work into it, and that's what matters.

This.

But, I'm not so sure if it's actually dead. I know a buddy...
(click to show/hide)

They might not do it in Europe and such, but the US might be eager to try it...
Very few people actually get that. A few just to be made an example of, but not really alot. If not, half the net population would be arrested or fined.

General rule with all fandubs. I've actually never seen a good one in my whole life.

Not the fans' fault. I do congratulate them in their efforts, but the problem is, they're not voice actors. So the result is never good.

Yesterday:

- Hearty breakfast, with home-made waffles
- Jog in the park, ending up with me hitting the halfway mark of the Illiad while sitting in the bench under my favorite tree

- Going to a nearby meat restaurant to eat my favoritest of meals, brazillian Picanha with black beans and fried banana

- On the afternoon, go to my buddy MP's house and play some muthafuckan co-op Metal Slug 3 there.
- Jam on the guitar before the clock rings to four, at which time I gotta leave for my date.
- Meet up with my girlfriend at The Regency for a drink

- Go watch Inception for the third time, still [tornado fang]ing awesome
- Take her home, make out at entrance before saying goodbye
- Get myself some awesome burgers on the way home
- Make myself a jawlicious salad, throw a rare burger on top, get myself some rice and chips, and eat that stomach orgasm
- Go have a dozen Sangrias with friends, get home a little happy drunk
- Watch a set of old M.A.S.H. episodes while eating a tasty bowl of baby tomatoes

- Try to find that last goddamn Coffee Thermos Collectible in Alan Wake
- Go on Skype at 3am, people are still up, have a hearty chat
- Go to bed at 4am
- Smile

I love summer. Can't wait to go a week to Algarve with my girlfriend at her uncle's beach house. [parasitic bomb] gonna be so cash.

Actually, I think you're all making a bit of a fuss out of something which would never escalate to Skynet proportions.

Imagine this. You're worried somebody will be watching YOU. YOU personally, that people will be watching you to see if you do anything.

What's so [tornado fang]ing special about you? Why would the government want to watch every single person who is online all the time? They'll probably monitor your activity if you go on extremist political websites, or watch pedophile porn, but otherwise, why would they even take up their precious time to check what you're doing? Sure, they may make what's pretty much a profile of you, and everytime your name comes up, your online activity will be known. But besides that? People are placing too much importance on themselves.

i am going to hurt you
I dunno what was so bad about it. I remember watching other Indy movies and going "You know what? This nazi-face-melting business is kinda bullshit. And this Temple of Doom parts are kinda dull. But they're INDY! Indy movies are supposed to be entertaining, not taken seriously." So, yeah. I simply laughed and was entertained at the fridge and Tarzan parts. Loved the movie. Actually think it's better than Temple of Doom, but worse than Raiders and Crusade.

I have a friend who's got one of those. I think they work to kill off a smoking addiction, because I haven't seen him smoke in a while.
I can tell you they do NOT work like that. But they're a bit like pills or a nicotine patch, feeding the body nicotine, and not smoke. You throw out water vapor instead of gas. And you can basically take a whiff, put it in your pocket, then take another hours later. You don't have to smoke it all on the spot like regular ones. The only thing bad for you with them, is the nicotine, which you still get addicted to. But it's the closest thing to a cigarette there is, without actually being one in any way. Heck, it's pretty much 90% close to the taste of a cigarette, and you can buy special charges for it to taste like certain brands of cigs, like Lucky Strike or Camel.

I SMELL TOO MUCH SMOKE
I THINK I'M GONNA DIE FROM SECONDHAND SMOKE

No, seriously. My house REEKS of smoke.
Convince your folks to switch to these:

Taste fairly the same, no cancer, no smoke, and about 3 to 4 times cheaper than regular cigs.

I can understand that. X2's one of the best clone wars-based characters in my opinion (has played the battlefront games for awhile). He's (Lucas) the guy that doesn't like to stick to canon, but has a thirst for special effects. It's a big world out there, and someone could get hurt.
Lucas is pretty much the prototype of "creator who used to be good at this, but now completely sucks and is trying to destroy the good works that people have done in his saga". Guy should just stick to non-Star Wars stuff.

(and this may not be the general opinion, but I REALLY liked Crystal Skull. Thought it was Indy all the way)

But bad things happening on the internet are GOOD.

I'm not letting ACTA ruin my TF2chan.
I mean like pedos and dat kinda stuff. That would pretty much end.

And they'd give some dumbass reason to watch over people, like "cyber-bullying". That one thing where people can get the hell away from it all by simply turning off their computers instead of feeding the trolls more crap and ending up complete wrecks because they were dumb enough to keep listening to the trollmind.

You mean the recent Star Wars canon or the old canon? I'm pretty sure Tano gets killed off sometime later in the clone wars, and was never spoken of again. Either that or an Order 66 survivor, killed by her own master. Bleh. I'm not a hardcore because that my friend, is too much of a hassle. Pretty much the new canon is messy these days.
I follow the books, comics and games. Just not the Lucas-related stuff. I'm guessing the girl gets thrown into the canon by Lucas because he can't stand to kill her, so all the material with Jedi survivors like Force Unleashed probably gets retconned as canon for the sake of Lucas' complete disregard for everything.

Wait what? how? Wasn't Surrogates more about Fatass humans living through robots from their rooms whom can look however they want them to? (such as the obligatory fat guy who lives through a hot young girl robot)
Movie, or comic?

And honestly, the MOMENT the net starts being policed, we get two things happening.

- Bad things stop happening online
- Good things start happening online

The fact that the net isn't policed, makes it a kind of rogue world where anything goes. Problem is, there isn't a way of policing it without making privacy null. So it's either the land of the free and creative, or Big Brotherville.

I'm a Star Wars fan (since before Special Edition), but not a die hard. I even laughed when people bitched about Tano's design. XD
I'm a hardcore fan, and I think I only checked out one or two episodes. >_>;;; I kinda stay the HELL away from everything Star Wars-related that Lucas makes, and count it out of my personal canon. Everything else is fine for me.

When given a choice of gender in protagonists in a Videogame, I usually pick the Female.
So do I.

DAT ASS

Also Mass Effect male bland Shepard cannot compare to the awesomeness of Jennifer Hale.

I keep my sexual organs where they are when it comes to stuff like Elder Scrolls and Fallout, though.

I meant the concept of a quick character, who has a gun also.
Concept-wise, it would be good. But it can't be implemented easily. Ever heard of any good story of a really fast guy with a gun? (and I do mean really fast, ala Shadow/Sonic. Not just the usual samurai dashing guy from whatever anime/game).

The hero does seem to have quite a big resistance to damage, though. Either that, or he's a really good dodger.

I alphabitize my Game collection. And its ordered GCN, Wii, PS2, DS (Only the cases), PSX (Only one game in that collection lol.) I keep my N64 and SNES Games in my nightstand. Its easier to access. My GB Games are in a box on a shelf in my room.

I also own a number of GCN Store Kiosk discs I recieved from my uncle when he worked at Sam's Club. They are all out of order, most of the cases are incorrect, but I appear to have #10, #11, #12, #13, #16, #18, and #19. There aren't that many good demos on them. All of the cases have an image of a Violet Gamecube on a white background, with the exception of #18 which uses a platinum gamecube on a Black Background, meaning it must've been released around the time of the Platinum GCN.
i pretty much just organize my +400 games according to system, date I've bought them in, and when there are sequels to previous games, I place them next to each other.

When there are franchises or games that pretty much manage to have enough titles to stand up for themselves, I give them their own shelf.

Pic's old, though. Collection's a bit better organized today.

Without wanting to go on heavy debate on the how or why, I'm actually surprised it's still an issue. I thought there was enough evidence already.

I always thought the guns were a cool addition to the gameplay, and seemed to flow well in concept. However, it being a "Sonic" game kinda made it a little big of a departure most people were not willing to accept.
Since it was built up to be a Sonic game in the first place, and the guns were a tacked-on thing with the worst aiming I have ever seen in ANY game in my whole life, I really can't see that. Only if you're talking about in concept. I'd definetly take a game where Shadow throws away his sneakers and has a slower third-person shooter gameplay with occasional bursts of speed.

Yeah, but for Castlevania to suck, we need the context of Metroid rocking hard. =P

And I actually really like Castlevania. But against a Team Ninja Metroid... well... no.

I am half-expecting a Flying Bird Leap with mid-air Morph Ball+Bombs everywhere.

1. LoS stands for Lords of Shadow, which is the Kojima-supervised next gen game in production.
2. The downloadable mashup game on XBLA is called Harmony of Despair.
3. We have a friggin Castlevania thread for this stuff.

Any more mention of Castlevania in this thread, good or bad, will result in a thousand daggers in the face.
What's the matter with it? We're discussing it in regard to Metroid: Other M being chosen as the best game released in August, and comparing it.

Plus, this is a Metroid thread. Castlevania discussion will come about sooner or later, since both games have been pretty much the only noteable ones of its type for years (sorry Shadow Complex).

Killing off a well known character like Eggman isn't a very good way to show how badass you are as is shooting a down a beloved childhood hero just to say, "I am cooler than Sonic and I use guns!"  -AC
The guns could have been an excellent mechanic if they didn't just pick the Heroes engine, smeared some [parasitic bomb] all over it and released it as a game.

At least ShTHH's cut scenes, (the CG ones) were beautifully done.
Sega always does good CG movies. It's the games that we worry about.

What, LoS? LoS looks great to me.
Especially when past 3D Castlevanias rate from bad to "decent".
But yeah. Other M. Team ninja aside, its simply the way it is such a departure from Prime, both visually, storywise and in gameplay that make it so amazing.
It's still a recycled-backgrounds-from-a-DS Castlevania inserted into an HD setting with co-op, which really doesn't bode well from what the previews say. That, against the option of putting a Castlevania with a hand by Hideo Kojima, and that really does seem like it's trying to break the mold, seems fine.

...only the poll says AUGUST releases, so they couldn't do that.

And Metroid still is the best option. Although Mafia II's looking pretty damn sweet. Anyone around here played the first one?
