Or ya know, just make your opinion.
I did make my opinion.

Just because I agree with an article that pinpoints most problems with the game's story, does it mean I don't have my own opinion? That's one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.

Lesse, in the past few weeks:

Spider-Man 2 (GameCube)
One of the better licensed games out there. Beat the story in a few days. My controller completely broke shortly after. Go figure.

Medal of Honour Frontline

Was testing the new GameCube controller I bought about a week after my last one broke. Haven't touched this one in ages. Playing it again, I really wish there was the option to increase sensitivity.

Star Wars: Dark Forces
Got around to configuring it to start-up windowed. Game is now lag-free and damn good fun. Though there's no option to change the controls whatsoever, so I have to get all old school and aim with the Numpad (but it is a DOS game, so that's a given really).

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith
Beat the original Jedi Knight some time ago. This one seems to add a fair bit in the way of Force Powers... not that I'll really use anything other than Heal and Jump. Lightsabre kinda sucks due to the random input lag it seems to get.

Unreal Tournament 2004
Bought this back in mid-January. I love everything about it.

Left 4 Dead 2
I get a pretty bad framerate that's barely playable, so I think I'll be saving this along with UT3 for when I get a newer machine.

Painkiller: Black Edition
Picked this up after reading about Bulletstorm and how it's apparently a spiritual successor to this game. It's pretty mindless, but incredibly satisfying. Also one of few Shooters I've played where the Melee/Starting weapon remains useful throughout the whole thing.
In other words, your past few weeks have been GODLY.

Play Serious Sam and Bulletstorm, You'll love them.

Bumping because it's a sticky and therefore no one should care.

So a few weeks ago, my friend let me borrow his copy of Batman: The Movie (1966)

This is pretty much the most hilarious thing ever. About 10 minutes in, Batman and Robin are in the Batcopter trying to stop a yacht carrying a valuable item from being captured. As Batman is being lowered on the Batladder towards the boat, he's suddenly attacked by a (very rubbery) shark which clings to his leg. After hitting it a few times, he shouts to Robin to hand him the Shark Repellent Batspray (which was conveniently in the Batcopter along with a variety of other aquatic animal repellents). Well, upon being sprayed, the shark falls back into the water and explodes on contact (and according the The Penguin, was supposed to, just like his exploding octopus). After a press conference, Batman, Robin, Gordon and some stereotypically Irish cop try to deduct the culprits, and after going over the current criminals at large, this is their logic:

Batman: Pretty fishy what happened to me on that ladder.
Gordon: You mean, where there's a fish, there could be a Penguin.
Robin: But wait! It happened at sea! See? "C" for Catwoman!
Batman: Yet — that exploding shark was pulling my leg!
Gordon: The Joker!
O'Hara: It all adds up to a sinister riddle... Riddle-er. Riddler?

After some other events and investigating, a missle is sent into the air and somehow writes a message in the sky as a clue. And of course they're in riddles. One of them is "What sits in a tree, weighs six ounces, and is very dangerous?" Robin is quick to answer "A sparrow with machine gun!" And he's right. There's other things I could go on about but I'll just finish here.

tl;dr this is the greatest movie ever made
ADAM WEST BATMAN IS ALWAYS GLORIOUS.

Check the character art for the game. Hell, Sheena's character portrait in that screen is in the same style.

I think this game has plenty of wow factor. Maybe not quite as much as CHC, but it's on par with the majority of the series.

In retrospect, Uprising isn't very much like the first Hard Corps. The only things they share are some of the characters and the life bar. Otherwise, it takes more from Contra 3 and Shattered Soldier, while introducing a lot of it own unique stuff.

Oh, and about the lack of manliness, CHC is less manly than HCU. Unless you're into Fang. Otherwise, Harley has him beat. DAT POMPADOUR.
Character art = NOT GAME.

Hard Corps looks the same as all Contras to me. Only more hardcore. Heck, it seems more manly due to the use of stuff like ruined cities, metal enemies with angry faces, explosions everywhere...

Uprising looks like a [tornado fang]ing rainbow. The characters are all nice and neat, all of the levels take place in widely colorful and bright scenarios, and I'm very annoyed about the needless designs they have.

I get ignored quite often. >3>
Huh? Did anyone say anything?

Same. But I've taught myself to not care if anyone acknowledges me and just do my own thing.

I frequently wash my hands from fear of germs, which is caused by fear of illness. But by washing my hands excessively, I'm only weakening my immunity, and thus get sick easier. It's an endless cycle and since I haven't managed to break out of it despite knowing this, I'm gonna guess it's OCD or something.
It's not OCD. If you had OCD, you'd know about it, because it would be much more serious than "wash your hands alot".

Honestly, I'm kind of sick of when people go "Oh I can't stand to leave things like this and always go to organize them! IT MUST BE OCD!" OCD is not something you take lightly, and it's a serious condition which you need to treat.

Maybe one day I'll upload them all to a tracker or something.

I'll say this. Best Superman anime of all time. (Powerful hero with classic "I stand for justice!" phrases, cowardly secret identity nobody respects Give him a red cape and there'd be no difference)

Are those jocks leaving you alone?

Seriously, if they're leaving you alone, aside from that "be quiet" thing, and not doing any physical or psychological harm to you, you should honestly just let them be. Why all of the hatred? I'm sure they've got the right to be like that, just like you've got the right to be like you are.

Don't forget. Geeks can be JUST as obnoxious, or even WORSE than jocks. Honestly, if all you have to deal with is the typical dumbness of people around you, I'd say you're getting it pretty easy over there.

Yep. It was cancelled. And it's a GOOD THING too. Because it would only succeed if it would have the same treatment as Brave and the Bold, which was pretty much a huge love letter to the fans, restoring forgotten characters and plotlines and doing stuff only fans would care about, cleverly disguised as a kids' show.

I love Link too, but that doesn't mean he has ANY personality to begin with. =P

Maybe one day we'll get a fully voiced Zelda game with Link voiced by Gilbert Gottfried.

What are you talking about? Hard Corps was anime through and through. And it's only slow if you're not running the entire time.
The original game could be fast all the time without a damn run button. Your character moves like molasses otherwise.

And I'm sorry, but i don't see any anime in this.

I do however, see PLENTY of anime in this:

The environments look bland and unimaginative and the levels themselves don't seem as fun. The original Hard Corps had tons of HOLY [parasitic bomb] moments happening all the time. Not this one.

Got Beyond Good & Evil HD.

Still as good as it's always been.

...still has that amusing bug where you can fall through the scenery and into infinity if you crawl through the outer part of a certain railing. GOOD TIMES.

After Hard Corps was one of the fastest games I've ever played, this game seems so cumbersome and slow, it annoys me to no end.

I wasn't very pleased by it either. The character designs kinda frustrated me, and it seemed too anime-ish for what Hard Corps used to be. All of the manly mood is gone.

I watched Kaikatsu Zorro all through my childhood. It was called Legend of Zorro where I live.

...and all that I have to say, is that it RULES. Seriously, it remains one of the best anime I've ever seen, for both nostalgia factor and classic goodness. It's unbelievably western, seeming a bit like a classic comic book at times, and that "transformation" sequence is only shown when he's changing outfits, and it's not that flashy to begin with. Zorro's alter-ego, Diego, is the Vash the Stampede before there was a Vash the Stampede, and plays the bumbling fool so damn well that the whole thing is amazing.

I own the whole thing on DVD. It rocks so damn much. ;_;

PROPER opening, if you please.

I'm just gonna have to say I am REALLY DAMN HAPPY that Batman INC is exactly what I expected it to be.

Batman as James Bond. Being sexy and cool all throughout the world, in exotic locations, with villanous villains plotting villanous schemes.

McDuffie was an amazing man. The All-Star Superman managed to have some of the amazing spark the comic had. Only that guy to make such a fantastic adaptation. We'll miss you, dude. Say hello to Jack Kirby for me.

That music reminds me of Sonic about ten years ago. Which is a very good sign. If they're able to keep the same kind of mood the series used to have, I'm all over this game.

That, and I'm a hopeless bastard for all that is flying games.
