Entertainment / Re: GENERAL COMIC BOOK THREAD (MANGA NOT ALLOWED)
« on: March 16, 2011, 02:21:07 AM »
Why is Hawk Man dubbed the most useless hero? And how can tell my friends that Aqua Man can do stuff besides calling fish?
Because the dubbers and your friend have never read a worthy comic in their whole damn lives.

Hawkman is a victim of constant retcons, but he's pretty damn badass.

And Aquaman? Aquaman is just A GIGANTIC [chameleon sting]er.

Okay, so who rules over the Earth? Humanity?

NO. AQUAMAN DOES. HE RULES OVER THE SEAS. He once said to a villain propositioning him partnership: "I already rule over seventy five percent of the Earth. Why would I settle for less?"

Dude's also hella strong. HELLA STRONG. Can withstand deep sea pressures like a boss. You're under pressure, with Queen & David Bowie blowing your head to bits? Aquaman is just chillin'.

As for calling fish? DUDE'S GOT TELEKINETIC CONTROL OVER ALL SEA LIFE. EVER. Imagine all armies on Earth put together. You think you can face every single whale on Earth on top of you? Hell no.

Dude's also lost a hand already. Twice. What does he do? Go [sonic slicer] to the JLA to make him a new robot one? Prosthetic maybe? HELL NO. HE PUTS A HOOK IN ITS PLACE. MOFOS BE DAMNED, AQUAMAN IS COMING.

So you got like one hero per city, right? A hero protects the city. AQUAMAN PROTECTS ALL OF THE OCEANS. He is the most useful out of all of the heroes in terms of keeping the Earth safe, because HE ENDS UP DOING MOST OF THE WORK.

...also he doesn't need to fawn over some plastic man's wife because he's married to a thing of pure hotness who can control the oceans themselves. THE WATER ITSELF. You jelly? Course you are. Because Aquaman is here to stay.

And that's hella OUTRAAAAAAAAAGEOUS.

Too late. 8D Blasting houses with my robo-dino already. But I'll go into Witcher now. I love this RPG. Can't wait for the sequel. After Dragon Age 2 was the shitpile it was, hope Witcher 2 doesn't disappoint.

I got waaaaaay too used to the arcade. To the point of being bothered by the 360 controls.

It is the kind of game you just can't do without two sticks.

Okay, help me out here, guys. Should I try and raise my Bulletstorm score, or go play some Witcher to advance a few missing sidequests?

Glad to hear you liked both the movie and your first TRUE IMAX experience!  8)

And yeah, I really don't know what people were expecting from a Tron sequel? I mean, it's TRON. It's a cult classic & visually stunning for its time, but the movie is fun even with it's flaws. I thought Legacy was a fantastic sequel, and the soundtrack is easily one of the best soundtracks in a long long time. Also, snow is fun!   8D

So is the 3DS!  8B
Oscar fucks should have nominated it. Honestly, I hated The Social Network's soundtrack... But I hate the oscars anyway, so meh.

I really don't know what was wrong with the movie. Aside from being a sequel that people who haven't watched the original would be a bit confused watching, but still... it had everything I wanted, really. Amazing visuals, lots of callbacks, pretty much everything made sense (yes, even the food and the city. It's pretty much explained Flynn redesigned the grid so programs would be a civilization instead of worker bees) so what was the problem?

........I just realized........Sega COULD make a Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram 3D game for the 3DS.....

Only if they had a huge add-on for the 3DS which plugged in the bottom and was two huge joysticks.

This isn't of me, just a pic I took when I went to London with my girlfriend around Christmas. We went there because we honestly wanted to watch Tron: Legacy on its premiere instead of when it came out two months later in Portugal. We basically saw our first IMAX movie ever. We weren't disappointed. (honestly, what is it about the hatred for the movie? I might be a hopeless and obcessed fan, but I didn't really see anything bad about it)

It was when a HUGE snowstorm came to London, probably the biggest in over ten years. We were stuck in the airport for a BIG while, but seeing snow like this for the first time ever was absolutely beautiful.

Hmmmmm well I only had a limited time with the demo, and like I said, if I can use my thumb for the touch screen instead of the stylus, it could work. We'll see though. I'm glad someone liked it!  8)

Very nice indeed!  8D
There's always a way to use your thumb, like there was in Metroid Prime: Hunters and Mario 64 DS. I actually found using the stylus was better when playing those games, but still massively uncomfortable.

Nintendo 3DS Lite with dual analogs please. ;_;

Also, I think the first game I truly want from this is DOA. I always found it was the one fighting franchise which was really easy to learn and have fun with friends. Man, I miss the times on DOA Ultimate. I might just go play it.

Only because it'd be ridiculous for Samus to be attacked by a tiny little Metroid. They couldn't make it just like the others too. So they just made it bigger in order to make it special-looking. Problem solved.

I almost want to delete this post because it doesn't contribute to anything more than a terrible perception of what it means to be religious (being happy because an earthquake hit and potentially ruined a lot of things for the human beings living there because it shows that "He's real?" I didn't see one ounce of remorse from this woman for the people affected as she said that, and that is truly scary) but at the same time, it's just one of many crowning examples of modern day ignorance and agenda pushing that makes me hate to say I'm religious to some people out of fear of being lumped in the same category as this. :|

[/rant]

Edit: Ishi is a tool. Nuff said.
Why the hell would you delete a post like this? I am religious myself, and I actually want to show how stupid people can get.

Extremism in any belief, idea or subject leads to people like this. Why the hell would you feel any shame on being religious? There are just as many atheist fucks in the world. Let's not insult the intelligence of people around here, shall we?

Yeah.

And considering she WAS whining about something I didn't agree with earlier, I can't help but think it could be a freudian slip.

Do people really forget that The baby was stolen by Ridley?

If he was talen by pirates, then one can assume that not only did Mother Brain control him, but they experimented on him, making him aggressive. After he nearly kills her, he regains his senses and stops. In fact, he sorta lingers there, almost as if confused.

And then yadda yadda, comes to save Samus.
Again, Nintendo doesn't think that much.

If they has HONESTLY never thought on giving Samus a personality before Other M, you can be damn sure they weren't thinking that hard.

This [parasitic bomb] only happens to me.

Instead of wishing my girlfriend, who's visiting her parents, a "Happy Birthday", I accidentally pressed "tc" instead of "rt".

Yeah, that's right. (slams head on desk at the speed of light)

I seriously loved those moves. I loved the game in terms of gameplay and animations. It was fluid, moved like butter, the combat was awesome...

Hated the graphics, though. First game without ambiance. BRING BACK RETRO.

Mother brain was not made an evil entity, a clone of her would not be evil either.
Cloning is cloning. The act of creating a genetically identical copy of the original. That is the definition of cloning. MB has the same technology behind Mother Brain, she is basically a clone of her. Mother brain was never made as evil, therefore, MB had no prior risk of being evil.
See how well that worked. Again, cloning evil entities and making big, intelligent computers which turn out betraying you is one of sci-fi's most obvious plots. In this game, it was made horribly.

Quote
I think somebody's just upset that Nintendo got sum emotions and animu in their Ripley and Alien.
I'm not even a Metroid fan, and I LIKED Other M, gameplay-wise. I just thought the story was the stupidest thing I've ever seen, and it seriously didn't fit well at all with the tone of the game. I don't mind things going animu, unless it's too much of a change. But the EMOTIONS were handled in a very awful way, completely ruining anything good this story might have ever had left to offer.

Quote
The baby Metroid immediately bonded with Samus like it's mother. Which means apparently, that works. So, they made MB with the sole purpose of being able to interact and control those metroids like their mother. She would bond with them, and they would obey her. I mean come on, she is even BLONDE like Samus is. I cant see how it's so hard to see that they were basically emulating Samus for use with the Metroids.
Sure, that might've been a story point. It's a damn stupid one, though. Since the relationship wasn't entirely beneficial for Samus either, having had the baby suck her health to 1HP before recognizing her. No experiment would ever be tried with such a stupid logic. Furthermore actually having Mother Brain in control of the Metroids, a cloned and reprogrammed Mother Brain, but Mother Brain neverthless, might've been the dumbest thing they've ever done.

Quote
I love also, how many people complain about Samus' relationship with the baby as "nothing special" when back in Super, at the end of the game, they would have interpreted it quite the opposite. The baby came to rescue it's "mother" and got killed. Samus, having regained her strength, takes down Mother brain in an emotionally intense curbstomp. (which the opening cinematic represents awesomely too)
Might've been special for the baby. Not for Samus, though. She knew the thing for hours at the most, and even though it saved her life, she couldn't have bonded with it so fast.

...hahahahaha, hey, ironic thing. The baby did the EXACT same thing Anthony did. Only the baby fed on her like cattle, and Anthony was nice to her the whole way, having known her in the past. With the baby, she was traumatized. With a good colleague of her who was consistingly nice and probably the only person who helped her fit in properly in the past, she didn't give it a second thought.

Man, that's one hell of an emotion, huh?

I almost got excited in parts like protecting the wagon and fighting the dudes on warthogs. But those parts turned out to be not just too easy, but over too fast. And not epic enough.

...I did fall in love with the western town part and would love an entire game based on a Western Zelda.
