People have a misunderstanding about what is "mature" or "adult". Most people seem to think it involves needless violence and substance use, when the real mature stories doesn't focus on that stuff. It might be there or implied, but the main focus it needs not be. It's how the people (characters, whatever) react to whatever circumstances are thrown at them, not what they use to deal with the circumstances.

Fxeni woke up in a daze. As his eyes readjusted, he looked around the room. He groans as he holds his head with one hand.
"I'm here again, huh?" Fxeni asked, bracing himself for the impending sarcasm.
"Well of course you are. You keep doing stupid things that invariably land you here." Emma responded.
"Heh... well, if I didn't do this stupid thing, this station wouldn't be here. Neither would you." Fxeni answered.
"Perhaps... but I can be replaced. You, on the other hand, are not quite as lucky." Emma replied with her usual snide tone.
"I've had worse... ugh..." Fxeni said as he sat up.
"I'd advise you to lie down, before it does get worse. I'd also advise you to get some psychiatric help, before you do something that I can't cure." Emma said bluntly.
"Uhh... Duly noted." Fxeni responded while rubbing his head with his left hand.
"Now please, lie back down and get some rest. You'll be needing it for when that Bunny girl drags you away." Emma said sarcastically.
"Fine, whatever Doc." Fxeni said with a sigh as he plopped back to where he awoke, ignoring Emma's sarcasm.
What will we do now? I wrecked my Gundam, the SexStation's security still needs updating... and I still need a crew, Fxeni thought to himself as he covered his eyes with his right arm. Can't afford to rest for too long. I'll have to have a talk with Peebs about getting to the SexStation ASAP next chance I get.

Higurashi: "Command Mission" is technically a spin-off, so even though it takes place in 22XX, it's not necessarily the same "22XX" during which the "Zero" series takes place. Still, we didn't want to cut it off completely just because it's a spin-off. Our goal was to incorporate some of the "Zero" series' flavor in order to make it feel like "Command Mission" is still connected to the other games, like it is part of the same family. So it might be easier if you regard "Command Mission" not as "a story that takes place between X7 and the Zero series", but rather as "one of many potential futures that exists independently from the Zero series".

"I know! These blasted things are annoying as hell though!" Fxeni thought to himself as he fired at the harpoon missiles with his Vulcans. He swiftly turns and shoots the harpoon heading towards the Ardjet, and in one fell swoop slashes through another that was nearby. He boosts around to the front, but is assaulted with a wall of harpoons. He closes the Active Cloak, which shields against the blasts but propels the Fxescythe away. He continues firing his Vulcans at the harpoons while trying to approach the Yamato.
"YE SHAN'T GET H'RE IN TIME, LANDLUBBER!" PirateMan yells out over the comm. "FIRE THE WAVE CANNON AT THE ONE THAT ISN'T MOVING!"
"B-But sir! That would-" the RPM starts to say with a stutter.
"DO IT!" PirateMan growls menacingly at the RPM.
"Aye sir..." the RPM says, prepping the Wave Cannon to fire.
I have to make it in time! Fxeni thinks as he boosts off towards the Yamato head on, dodging and destroying the harpoons that are assaulting him. He sees that the Cannon is done charging, and swears under his breath.
"FIIIIIREEEEEEEE!" PirateMan yells out, and the RPM complies. A hum is heard from the Cannon as it starts to channel the energy. Suddenly, the Fxescythe's Beam Scythe bursts through the Cannon, but the Cannon has enough time to fire the shot. It blows off the legs, an arm and part of the body of the Fxescythe, which is sent flying away in a sparking heap.
"YARRRR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR!" PirateMan bellows in victory, when suddenly a chain reaction occurs in the Yamato. A combination of the damage already received and the Beam Scythe's final attack causes the Wave Cannon to erupt in an explosion, causing a chain of explosions throughout the ship.
"Heh... take that... you... bas..." Fxeni says over the comm, but passes out mid sentence.

"Right!" Fxeni said as he boosted towards the Yamato. The Fxescythe was now able to keep up with Fxeni's senses, as he easily dodged the plasma shots that were incoming.
"Incoming, Sir!" the RPM yelped frantically as he fired as many shots as possible at the Fxescythe.
"WELL SHOOT 'IM DOWN, YE GIT!" PirateMan shouted, pointing at the Fxescythe on the viewscreen.
"RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!" Fxeni yells as he fires the Buster Shield at the Yamato. It punctures the shield and begins digging into the hull. The Fxescythe then starts to fly around the Yamato, slashing at the plasma cannons.
"We're quickly losing our cannons, sir!" the RPM exclaimed as he watched one cannon after the other turn red on his display.
I must keep my focus... Fxeni thought as he continued whipping around the Yamato. His vision started to blur again slowly but surely, as he begins to feel the pain from his open wound on his head.
