Ok so, I watched the Metroid trailer again, and I'm pretty sure the part with Mother Brain is a flashback to Super Metroid. Mother Brain looks like it's shooting through the Metroid that's right above Samus. Take a look, you'll see what I mean.

I rented Sonic Unleashed recently, and I've been playing it finally. I love the daytime stages, they're nice and fast, and play rather well too. The nighttime stages... well... they can go burn in a fire. Some of the platforming segments in there are rendered far more difficult than they have to be because of crappy camera angles we can't control. God I hate Sonic Team's inability to make a proper [tornado fang]ing camera sometimes.

One of the problems I see when they make video game movies is that they're just flat out taking the wrong material to work with from the base games. Not to say that they should be exactly alike, mind you, but they certainly tend to wander off into areas they really shouldn't.

Also, the premise for the PoP movie hurts my brain.

I'm sure it would, but the surprise stems more from the fact that SquEnix seems to care about it.

A: It's up to the community themselves. We envision users that will hopefully play XI one day and XIV another. They will be independent, but users are free to play both.

I'm still surprised they're supporting both... for now, at least.

Majora's Mask's final boss was fun to fight against and was definitely harder than most... except when you pull out the fierce deity mask. Without that mask, though, it's harder

Very nice analysis there, PB. Each company sure did have their own moments where they shone. That said, Ninjaroid still got the most of my attention, either way.

What Zelda needs is another "Majora's Mask"esque entry. I find a Zelda game can stand strong on it's own two feet without having to have Ganon yet again pulling the strings. Not to mention, taking some risks would be appreciated. TP just felt the same, and aside from the clawshot almost all the equipment was absolutely useless out of the dungeon you found them in. Now that is badly thought out.

My beef with FF14 is that FF13 isn't even out yet... plus they're using another number for another MMO. Just make it an offshoot, Square.

So, although lots of people are bitching about a lack of Zelda, I'm pleased with some of the stuff they had. Golden Sun 3, NSMBW, Mario Galaxy 2 and that Team Ninja made Metroid all sound good to me.
