Finished reading through The Long Halloween again. I had forgotten just how well written it was.

Croire - Believe
Charite - Charity (simple enough to deduce that one :P)
Variable - Uh... same thing in both languages >_>'
Progress - Well... yeah.
Nouvelle - They probably meant "New" with this one.
Recrue - Recruit

Inti seems to like using French names. I suppose it's supposed to sound exotic or something, but to me it's just regular words (having to speak French on a regular basis and all >_>')

The same thing happened with SE and Chrono Trigger. Hell, that was probably the worst one of them all since they C&D'd the game I believe a week before it was completed, and the people behind it were working on it for four years.
Difference with that one was that SE didn't know up until that point. Apparently, at least the Nintendo dev group does know about this, which is already a step up from that whole SE situation.

It also seems like they don't care about F-Zero a whole lot, since the last release was on game cube (and before that the SNES, note I'm talking about console games)
uhh... F-Zero X?

I see what you mean, by the way, but they're just making what sells. One other thing about the rest of that list you gave though... Fire Emblem is getting a decent amount of releases, so I don't know what the hell you're talking about with that one.

I'm sorry, but in the X games you rarely ever need anything more than your buster to get by. The whole reason Chameleon Sting and Rolling Shield were so awesome was their granting of basically invincibility for a short period of time, and I doubt there's really any way you could top those in sheer usefulness. Speed Burner was handy at times, yeah, but even then that still wasn't good enough to even get close to the weapons mentioned earlier.

Y'know, that's exactly what I meant, but I was being nice to everyone else that might use other weapons XD

Would that be such a bad thing?
It would get to the point that people would only use weapons from the earlier games, defeating the purpose of the later weapons.

Don't give Cuthbert too much credit there, it was probably his idea to have Command turn out the way it did. Basically all that game's elements are from SF2, which of course he was (and still is) annoyed that it was never officially released. He let his own sense of what he wanted to finally show interfere with what people actually wanted.

Short cutscenes are just fine and dandy, but anything beyond that is unacceptable. The problem is that they try to overcomplicate it too much now, when honestly it needs to be kept freaking simple. Take SF64's cutscenes; those were great. The Star Wolf intros were awesome, and the end of MacBeth was also awesome, and the latter had all of two lines of dialogue.

Shadows of Lylat's been in development for a while. Technically, the game engine is built off of the one from Freespace 2, so it's not exactly original. I'm a bit worried about this one, since it looks like it might not have corridor gameplay, which would seem odd in a Star Fox game (just like it did it Command, for the most part).

Nintendo has had years to take this one down, but they haven't done it yet. Considering it's one of the more well known fan projects when it comes to Star Fox, I'd be surprised if Nintendo didn't hear about it already. I guess we'll see.

As for why does Nintendo not make their own Star Fox... who the heck knows. More concentrated on making games that are sure to sell (ie. Mario and Zelda, all those Casual games too) rather than Star Fox, which is probably wouldn't sell as much.

For the Lifesaver thing, it has to do with the dialogue before the fight. It has a set ID in X's sprite frames which is used for the conversaion, but a programming error calls it up when the player cancels out his attack. Little glitch they let by.

it's not original songs; the songs were all remixes.
Huh... they are remixes, now that I relisten a few times and pay close attention. Still sucks though >_>'

also, anyone think the $15 price point is a bit much?
I'm starting to think so... unless they add something new that's actually good. Not getting my hopes up there though, that's for sure.

I'd honestly just presumed the water slowdown to be the way it was supposed to be.  *shrugs*  Nino Island ruins are still hell regardless of lag, seeings how you're forced to backtrack the whole damn way.  They couldn't just cutscene/hidden elevator your way between the key and Claymoore...
Yeah, it's kinda annoying having to go through the whole thing again... although it isn't at 1/3 speed of what it should be anymore, though.

Pretty sure... it's most noticeable in the "Four Player Gameplay" video, where the music switches a few times. The boss music itself is the same between both times a boss is shown as well.

Also, in past videos they just slapped in the SNES music, since that was before they had any music. Now we have something completely original, which I don't exactly like the sound of.

Hey, I could be wrong, and for the sake of the game I sure hope I am.

I reiterate what I posted on GT about these videos... I'm not impressed with the music. At all. I sure hope for them that that isn't the final version of the music, because man that's bland. Half the fun of Turtles in Time was kicking ass to the kickass music. If the music isn't kickass anymore, then that's half the kickassness of the game gone in the wind. Doesn't help that it's based on the Arcade version, either. Couldn't they have made a port of the SNES version but with the ability to have 4 players? Now that would be worth it. I dunno, I'm more tempted to just stick with the SNES version as it stands... I'll make my decision once it comes out, though.

The recession sure doesn't help. Companies are playing it even safer than they usually do, that much I can tell you.

A kickass remix of
Koopa's Road
would be awesome. It's inclusion in Galaxy made me so happy, but I need more dammit.
