What does Disney even WANT with Marvel? These two worlds couldn't be more apart from one another.
I'd say the potential for more cash. Also, something to reel in boys, since most of their stuff nowadays is decidedly geared towards the female demographic.

You know, considering that The Incredibles was basically a better Fantastic Four Movie than... well, the Fantastic Four movies, it's true that that sounds so very tempting. A tad unlikely, mind you, but the image in my head is awesome XD

Also,

I couldn't help but post this when I saw it.

Huh... didn't see the other topic. I blame lack of sleep and constant distractions due to my dad's situation :P

Anywho, it has potential for some interesting crossovers, both in a good and very very bad way. Here's to hoping Disney lets Marvel do it's thing.

Like I said, I played the version that apparently lagged itself to do slowmotion on my PSP, and it didn't lag.

Almost necroposting here, but some fun facts.

Megaman Legends 2(PSX):
Runs at 60 FPS on very few menus.
Runs at 30 FPS during normal play.
Runs slightly slower sometimes for, what seems to be, dramatic effect.
Under water, it runs 20 FPS.

Megaman Legends 2(PSP):
Seems to run at 30 FPS both on land and under water.

Some fun speculation.

The PSX could probably handle 30 FPS, but the FPS was lowered for effect.
The PSP version runs at 30 FPS underwater due to complaints.

If anybody has a gameshark and would be willing to test a code on the real PSX to force 30 FPS, let me know.

PS: Thanks for the warning. I'll set my GPU plugin's manual speed to 30 FPS and manual override when I go underwater.
I played the PSX version on my PSP, and there was no lag whatsoever on the PSP, so I'm pretty sure the PSX couldn't handle it properly.

ZX / Re: Do you think ZX series would sell more if it was on Wii?
« on: August 29, 2009, 10:36:45 PM »

It's called alternate paths.  If you don't have what you need to clear them, it's your own fault for entering them in the first place.  If you want to take a gamble with being ill-equipped, fine, but then you face the consequences.

The only "impass" that is not an alternate is Gate's Lab, which is the game's final stretch.  And even that is a lot easier to clear than most players believe; I can't tell you how many fans to this day still think that an air-dash is necessary.  By this point there is no excuse to not be properly equipped.

Generally, X6 is to the X-series what Lost Levels is to Mario.  Low production value, highly challenging level design.  Approachable, it ain't, but it's a great service for the hardcore fans.  The game's level design is severely underrated by people who simply aren't up to the task of properly exploring it.  There are tons of power-ups scattered, and rather than the brainless "use weapon x to destroy otherwise indestructible block y", a great deal of them require some good thought to reach, despite never once requiring a boss weapon.  That is damn good level design that the series otherwise doesn't see, and it's a great and satisfying challenge to nab it all (without beating any bosses).  The same can be said for the "impass" areas.  You have to use your head, and pull out all the tricks for manipulating the engine that you know, and then you can find quite a few solutions to any given obstacle, and go with the one that suits you.
So not being able to get by as unarmoured X without any powerups whatsoever is good stage design to you? Also, I bring up the randomly generated museum stage that can very easily screw you over if you happen to go there first. That's not the only place either. It's not good level design when you need an optional upgrade to advance normally, point final. I'm all for difficulty, as you should clearly know by now, but there's a difference between being challenging and not being able to advance without a freaking optional upgrade. I'm repeating myself, yes, but apparently that's needed.

ZX / Re: Do you think ZX series would sell more if it was on Wii?

Anything past X4 doesn't interest me all that much. X5 is of questionable quality in plenty of areas. X6 has horrible level design in several places; requiring a part to advance isn't good in any sense. If they actually did it right, you should be able to get through the damn game without needing anything whatsoever. The enemy placements aren't all that good in many places, either. X7 had it's moments, but the wall jumps felt really weird, and unlocking X was awkward. X8's level design could have been better as well. It was better than some of the other installments in the series, but it doesn't touch anything in X1-X4. MHX was awesome, but that's because it was based off of X1. XCM... well, I can't really get back to it, myself. I finished it once and I can't bring myself to restart it. Xtreme 2 was alright for a GBC game, and the parts were awesome. That said, considering it's a GBC game, the controls felt a little off from time to time, but that's more of a limitation of the system itself.

Not to say the earlier X games are perfect (I've been known to point out X3's... issues), but I find they're more enjoyable overall.

I have, actually. Now it seems easier to flow into certain attacks than it was before. I haven't played as everyone yet, mind you, but there are a few changes I've noticed so far.

I'm giving it another go in English this time. Zidane's still my top choice of the bunch, and will probably remain so.

Like I'm sure I've repeated a million times, LttP is the only Zelda I can replay on a regular basis without getting bored partway through.

As for MM, the most common complaint I hear about it is the countdown. I never really understood why, considering you always have plenty of time to finish anything, especially once you've slowed down time. I guess the pressure does it's job.

I think it's time Capcom brings the X Series back  XD
The X series should die. Despite the earlier games being dear to me, most of the later ones are for the most part forgettable.

MM was always the best 3D Zelda they've made so far, in my opinion. OoT and TP both felt kind of bland in retrospect. As for WW, the sailing aspect definitely needed some tweaking. Otherwise, I like WW a good deal.

I don't see how you get any clearer than having to watch Ciel cry through the whole damn credits.
I thought it was pretty damn clear too, but it obviously somehow managed to not be clear enough >_>'

Do keep in mind that Zero survived being at the top of an orbital elevator as it exploded in Z1, as ridiculous as that was. That kinda makes his survival more likely in the minds of anyone who was keeping up with the series, and those that really wanted him to survive have ammunition to work with. Having a blurry shadow in the background probably wasn't a good idea either if they really wanted to be clear about it. Showing the helmet only was also a strike against Inti, since if the Helmet survived, so could the rest of him (in the minds of those that wanted him to remain alive, do keep in mind).

The only way it would have been perfectly clear, really, was if they showed him dying. That, however, was probably not an option in this case, so they just tried to beat it into the player's head through other means... means that could easily be discounted if a person tried hard enough, mind you.

I'm not saying that Zero should have lived, I'm just saying it wasn't all that good of a job of making his death crystal clear to everyone.

I read somewhere that OSC probably isn't even getting any royalties from it. While his views are indeed... questionable... it would be a shame to miss out on a good game over someone's outdated views.

I'm honestly surprised this game didn't come up yet. The general gist of the gameplay is that it plays like an homage to Super Metroid, and apparently it's quite fun.

Review here.

And, last but not least, Inti did in one attempt what Capcom failed to do twice: They actually did a good job of killing Zero.
Not nearly good enough if you ask me, considering people still think to this day that he survived.

« on: August 23, 2009, 12:31:02 AM »
If you read back a bit in this very thread, you'll see what I mean. The ones that go nuts over Symphonia tend to not have played any other Tales games, which is somewhat understandable. One thing I will give Symphonia is that it's localization was excellent, and certainly set the bar for quality localizations on Tales games. I personally am rather unable to go back and replay it though. I blame this on the faux-3D battlefields, where your party members get in your way more often than not.

My dad was the one that got me into gaming, with an intellivision I do believe. I'm not positive though, since whatever system it was broke, and my father's memory isn't reliable enough to yield the actual console name. That said, the first games I fully remember playing are on the NES, with the likes of Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, The 2 Zeldas and the Castlevanias (3 in particular).
