Eh, Loeb is hit or miss... well, mainly miss nowadays.

As for characters aging, it really depends on how it's handled. While it's good to keep characters timeless in some cases (ie. Mario), in others it can really limit options.

I went and saw Avatar in IMAX today.  The story is pretty standard, predictable, but I still thought it was pretty good for what it was.

...However, the visuals....they really are fuckawesome & mindblowing.  Cameron did what he set out to do and brought 3-D Movie Technology to a whole new level.  I've never seen anything like Avatar before.  It was absolutely incredible to watch.  I mean, unless TV's eventually get 3-D Technology incorporated into them, this movie will never look as good as it did in the theater.
My issue with the 3D was that the movie was a little too long for it. By the end my eyes were tired out.

Also, Colonel Miles Quaritch is awesome.

Sparky does indeed come here still, he just doesn't post all over the place. He isn't the only one that's like that, either. Leave Sparkvenia as it is. Make your own damn land if you want it so badly :P

Well, I'll give it a shot. I always wanted to try FFXI someday, but paying monthly for something I might now enjoy didn't really appeal to me.

Oh well, their waste of money. Although, I'm sure many others would find better uses for it than that...

I hope that, like with the "Okami IGN boxart" debacle, they'll apologize and rectify this.
Maybe... except they never really rectify the Okami Wii boxart. I still laugh each time I pass that game in a store.

People are surprised that Capcom is using art from places other than themselves? Don't you guys remember that they most likely got art from various sites for R20? Or, for that matter, the Okami Wii boxart?

Return of the Menuless weapon switching as well. Dont forget that. Personally, I like how they handeled that. Since the 8 bit games didnt have the detailed icon and ammo like the complete works and 8 had, they have the icon pop up above Rock's head when he switches it.

Also, no mention of that "mysterious" 3d character. Blues looks sexy to play as. If we want to get technical, this is the first time he's been playable as a main character. in 9 he was just DLC with no actual story.
He had a story in Rockman Rockman.

X / Re: Sigma Virus question
« on: December 17, 2009, 01:30:22 AM »
While X's viral immunity is a very hazy topic, I can't imagine possessing him, even if possible at all, would be remotely as easy as Sigma thinks during X3's ending.  I would chalk it up to sheer ignorance of X's ability, as even by X3 many baddies are still surprised by his power.  This includes Doppler and Byte.  X may have won the respect of his fellow Hunters after X1 but I don't think his enemies really acknowledged his abilities until X4/Xtreme2.  Up until X3 X still carried the negative stigma of being "ancient".
This. Although, Cyber Peacock is surprised that his potential is limitless in X4, so his analyzing of X might have something to do with his enemies acknowledging his abilities afterward.

Yeah, if you look at most publications, most can't/don't care to tell the difference between the different protagonists. Just the way it is.

Well, here's to hoping they've learned their lesson. Aonuma's direction could have so much potential... as long as he stops trying to be Miyamoto. He should just do his own thing, fully bring his own flair into it.

Well, the concept of DLC isn't really a problem for me... it's more the fact that most devs use it as an excuse to be lazy and not put everything in the game at once. That and profiteering from stuff that should be in there in the first place.

Or maybe you could lift your friend and throw it to the boss.

(I wonder who got the reference)  XD
"[tornado fang] YOU DALE!" is my only comment to that reference.

Now that my excitement has somewhat lowered to regular levels, I have some things I hope they address. Namely, the difficulty should be based more upon skill, not as much memorization. While MM games usually have memorization bits (disappearing platforms being the number one thing that comes to mind), MM9 took it a bit too far. I hope they tone it down this time.

Not even gonna touch the X9 debate. My stance has already been established in that case. Although, the graphics debate is weak, especially considering that the SNES controls are superior in every manner. Isn't that what matters? The gameplay?

So I got further in PH, and instead of getting used to the controls, I grew to dislike them even more. Things that shouldn't be a problem suddenly are due to cruddy controls that get in the way. I'm glad I waited until the game was cheap to get it because I wold honestly feel robbed if I got it at full price, mainly because I'm not having any fun. A large portion of why I'm not having fun is that most of the time something goes wrong, it's because I'm trying to do something but it's not bloody working. It's too bad too, because there's good ideas here, it's just... horribly executed. PH has become my least favourite Zelda by a mile.

I think it's safe to say that ST is a no go for me, as well, since it's largely based upon the same ideas (and blasted controls).

So I got around to Phantom Hourglass finally and... the controls. I can't stand them. A mix of button and stylus would have worked so much better than what was given.
