W...what?! That... they RETCONNED it? They just... made it so we're not free anymore, which was the point of the game? What sense does that even make?Afraid so. I mean, the scene still starts out the same way as it did before, so I guess it's somewhat sensible... aside from the fact that it did kind of defeat the purpose of the whole final act of the game.
...oh, I get it. NEED TO MAKE STORY SUITABLE FOR SEQUEL sense.
They changed it? I played it years ago on the 360. I just remember everything exploded and we were left outside, lying down sideways. No explanation to whether Chell died or not.Ah... well, before they announced Portal 2, they changed it to Chell being dragged back in to the complex, with a robotic voice thanking her for assuming the party escort submission position.
Anyway, any others? Give me games you deem PERFECT. On which you think I can't find one single flaw in.Yeah... this is pretty much why I haven't contributed a title. I don't really deem any game perfect, and whatever might be close enough to my tastes has most likely been mentioned.
LoL, I actually like Spring Mario. Haha, and don't worry, he's only on one level.Thank goodness... I was worried I'd have to do something involving it for the Prankster Comet when it came along. You don't know how relieved I was when I saw it was set in a portion of the level that had nothing to do with that powerup
- Confusing ending.Just a quick question, is this before the slight change they made recently? Not arguing persay, just getting clarification.
- Aeris/Aerith(she's supposed to be named Alice you translator dumbasses) has died... this is the saddest part of any game I have ever pla.... YAAAAAAAY! SNOWBOARDING MINIGAME RIGHT AFTER! Nomura, you are the king of storytelling mood.I call that "the Disney effect" because of the way they tend to handle death. Bambi's probably the best example of this sort of thing. Oh no, Bambi's mom is dead... that was unexpectedly sad and... What the hell? Animals singing happily in the springtime?
Anyway, you guys think we're gonna get some gameplay out of E3?Would be cool to see it in action, but I somehow doubt we'll get much.
The whole point of that was that you were running TOO fast, mostly in automated areas where there wasn't much danger to begin with, and you'd eventually find a spring that would stop you and bring you to a general safezone.I realize the point... I just hope they don't forget to put that safe zone at the end. Being Dimps, there's a few points in Rush that I seem to recall being like that (been a while since I've played it, mind you, so my memory of it may be a tad flawed). It wasn't always safe in the older games either, as far as the automated sections go. Hydrocity Zone comes to mind. I'm just saying I hope they didn't forget that little detail, and I hope the "camera" follows properly for the most part. Again, I wouldn't put it past them to find a way to mess it up
With Sonic 4, all they have to do is work within the same principles of the old Sonic games. Sonic is fast, but the game doesn't run on his speed, it runs on platforming through irregular grounds. His speed is used so that some cool sections can be mixed with the platforming, so we have a good challenge, and you can still see everything in front of you. While games like Unleashed and Secret Rings focused more on him always running, the normal formula used through the first game up to Adventure 2 has never been that. It's good, stable platforming action.Yeah, but it also depends how they limit the speed. Even in the older games, sometimes the game had a hard time keeping up with Sonic if he was going especially fast, particularly if he was Super/Hyper Sonic. I just hope it isn't an issue here.
These two pictures intrigue me, if that's an NPC (Zobek judging by the picture filename) I sure hope they get his AI down right.
Montreal didn't even show up against the Flyers; that was pretty lackluster. Philly's gonna capitalize on that like a mother[watermelon] on Tuesday. That was one of the most disappointing games I've seen in a long time
For some people, having fun is WINNING and BEING COMPETITIVE. If anything stands in the way of absolute imparciality in the way their skill comes into play within the game and ends up being judged on luck, suddenly they feel less "teh hardcorez". So they do that. I kinda feel like Street Fighter 2 is the perfect, finely-tuned, absolutely measued in every single way competitive game when it comes to 1-on-1 fights. The rest? Just have fun and worry less about losing.I just find it odd that they would go out of their way to change so many rules and regulations that are integral to the game. I suppose that's a good mark in favour of the game though, considering how much effort they put into it. I do understand how they might dislike the factor of luck though. I don't find it's so bad in Melee/Brawl since you still need skill to use/dodge them properly. When it's something like say Mario Kart Wii though, where the items are a bit on the broken side, I admittedly get frustrated when I can go from 1-3 to 8-12 in no time flat, and all I get is like... a single mushroom to catch up
