Of course, same thing as Fake man going on, No weapon after beating him. Seems its just for fun.

Actually, I've got the Mirror Buster and am loving it!  Unfortunately, only Megaman can use it, but at least it applies to Hard Mode as well.  I haven't checked to see if it works in challenge mode or not.

Well worth it though, he's actually really fun to play as.

Dash-jumping in an 8-bit title feels so...great!  You know that little alcove in Chill Man's stage (right before the boss room) with the energy capsules?  I shot right out of there and made if much further than I expected to.  Dash-jumping over Chill Man's head felt pretty awesome too!

They made Enker a bit more challenging this time.

Now he can stand at the center of the boss room, and he doesn't stand still so much compare to the original fight. ^^;
And here I was beginning to wonder if that had been there all along.  I lost a couple of times because I was beginning to doubt that shooting him during his charge was actually doing any real damage.  The formula for beating him's pretty much the same (sans the ability to stand still in the center), so it wasn't too troublesome.  I wonder what his actual weakness is?

I think the MM Killers are going to get harder from here on out; they were originally fought when you had a charge shot and slide, so beating them without either one will prove to be quite challenging.  I wonder if we get to fight both forms of Ballade?

Special Stage 1's a surprisingly accurate re-creation of Wily Stage 1 from Dr. Wily's Revenge, so it was naturally short.  I kinda like how Capcom tried to alleviate the cheap deaths in the stage with those time-bombs.  It was far worse on the GB, as the small screen size had you killed if you jumped down the wrong way.  And wow, I forgot how annoying Enker was without the Mega Arm & slide.  :o

Can I have my name changed back to Aqua?  Thanks in advance!

Oh please. your not the one named water.

You know, they could've just had us switch names; the result would be pretty much the same anyway.   XD

Not in the least. 8)  I may axe the bike entirely from my shortcuts once I get GB Sound (Dowsing gets the touch icon).

There's no real point to adding the GB sounds to your shortcuts menu, though.  It stays on as long as your DS' power is on (unlike the radio), so it wouldn't be all too practical.

Who would ever turn off the Running Shoes?

It helps in caves or in other situations where you may want to lower the encounter rate.  Pokemon appear more often while running, so I've done it when I need to avoid that.  Of course, the same thing can be accomplished with Repels.  :\

Anywho, I've got 16 badges and am now training/catching before I go off to fight Red.  I must say, this game has the absolute best Safari Zone in the franchise.  Customizable areas, placeable items with instant effects, no time limit; this place has it all!

It's a shame they didn't use him with the RM Killers in MM10.  :(

You realize now that I'll never be able to fight Solar man with a straight face again!

Not to mention contradictory and counterproductive.

Don't you find it strange when someone orders something fattening at a fast food joint and proceeds to choose Diet Coke (or the like) as their drink.  At that point it doesn't even make a difference; they'd be better off just getting water.

Also, is it just me, or do Mc Griddles give an odd sensation in your throat, at the base, like a burning? Theyre good, but that's terrible...

My mom brought home Popeye's chicken today, and that's exactly what I felt after eating.  I had to down a rather large amount of water just to make it go away.  That cannot be healthy...

Wait, scratch that.  I just looked into the matter, and apparently that whole thing about Mighty leaving was a hoax.  He was more or less scrapped because Sonic Heroes' teams are made of 3 characters.  That said, I agree that he's long overdue for a return, along with Ray the Squirrel!

What we need is MIGHTY! I've been saying this since frickin' Sonic and the Black Knight. WE NEED MIGHTY BACK!

But that's not going to happen as the guy who designed him ragequit.  :\  I still say that it'd be very sweet to get playable Metal Sonic (or at least have him as a boss).

Fooling oneself seems to catch on a lot these days.

On that note, I think Diet Soda is one of the most pointless things I've ever heard of.

If you didn't moonwalk into Chill Man's boss room, something is seriously wrong with you.

For me, fast food's one of those "once or twice a week" things.  Fast food isn't inherently bad on it's own, though, as it all depends on what you order.  I pick up an Egg McMuffin for breakfast on those mornings that I outright oversleep; it makes a for a quick, healthy source of protein to help start the day.  I generally prefer to do all of my own cooking, though.  It's cheaper and healthier that way, plus I like knowing exactly what goes into my food!

Original / MM10's Arsenal?
« on: March 08, 2010, 05:30:53 AM »
What's your opinion of it?

I'm tempted to call this my favorite one in the Classic series so far.  The weapons are useful, but not in a broken way (which is what 9's felt like).  There's a really unique feel to all of the weapons here, and not a one of them is useless.  Here's my opinion on the individual weapons themselves:

Chill Spike

This my personal favorite weapon in the series, as it acts like an improved Ice Slasher despite it's lower range and rate of fire.  You can follow it up with pretty much anything, making it quite versatile.  The whole 'tire trap' thing is just icing (pun intended) on the cake.

Water Shield

This one's pretty unique; unlike the other shield weapons in the franchise, this one appears piece by piece, and is destroyed in the same manner.  Jewel Satellite was better in the protection area, but I find this one far more useful in terms of versatility.  Shoot, you can use this as a machine gun at close range (try it after freezing larger enemies!), and also for hitting enemies at unconventional angles.

Triple Blade

Pretty darn versatile weapon.  Covers a decent range, and you've got to love the fact that bosses take multiple points of damage if you hit them with more than one blade at a time.  Makes short work of most bosses (particularly Strike Man), and conserves energy pretty well too.

Rebound Striker

This is pretty much a better Gemini Laser, complete with extra damage per bounce!  This is pretty much one of the more strategic weapons in the game; you can knock the Block Devil out in no time flat if you play your cards right with this one.  The fact that it's aim-able gives you plenty of freedom.

Commando Bomb

Reminds me of the Firefly Laser from X5, only stronger and you actually have the ability to move this time.  It's a bit risky as you can unintentionally shift the direction while trying to avoid something, but the damage is well worth it.  Pretty much how I deal with ignorant soccer goalies and crabs alike.

Thunder Wool

While it does require some set-up, it 's pretty powerful.  I'm not exactly sure how the "double cloud" gimmick works yet, though.

Solar Blaze

Reminds me of the Pharaoh Wave from Power Fighters.  Interesting concept, what with the ability to set it off early, and it can also clear up some space rather quickly.  I don't use it all too often, but it still has it's moments.

Wheel Cutter

Wow, this one blew me away with the wall-climbing gimmick.  It's certainly faster than ladder-climbing, and the fact that the wheels actually climb walls on their own is amusing.  I like the fact that you can use it to pull a quick evasive maneuver if need be.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the creativity that went into to this.  I'm interested to see how the MM Killer's weapons will complement the current arsenal.

I disagree, ProtoMAN is not easy mode. He has weaknesses such as double damage, that force you to learn the stage MUCH better, so as not to get hit. Also, all of his items are more expensive.

Actually, the bosses are FAR easier as Protoman.  The shield is your best friend.

I actually ran through Easy mode myself a couple of days ago.  That has got to be one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen in gaming ever; they pretty much hold your hand through the entire game, babying you with random Yashichi on the ground and platforms that cover up 80% of the game's traps.  The bosses are toned down quite a bit as well (i.e. Pump Man's shield has only 3 orbs).  The game was so easy that I had to do it sans-helmet just to get a little challenge out of it.  XD  Needless to say, I racked up quite a few achievements on that run through.

Hard mode, on the other hand, is quite grueling, yet fun at the same time.  I'm pleasantly surprised that Inti has finally grasped the true meaning of Hard Mode.  They didn't nerf the player at all, choosing to solely beef up the enemy layouts, minibosses, and bosses.  Shoot, I'm even more impressed at the fact that the Robot Masters get EX moves (Chill Man's is just plain nice!).

Personally, the only theme I disliked in 10 is Chill Man's, THAT is mess of a tune.

Ironically, that happens to be my personal favorite!  I also like the Kirby feel that Sheep Man's tune has.

When I first downloaded this game when I came home the other day, I played it for several hours straight, and I disagree with Aqua's opinion about this game's difficulty. Mega Man 10 is harder than Mega Man 9 by a longshot. Even Mega Man 9's Super Hero mode pales in comparison to the challenge that this game had to offer, even on the Normal difficulty setting.

Just curious, how many classic MM games have you played?  You mentioned in an earlier post that you'd gotten into the series at MM7, so it's possible that you just might not be too used to the 8-bit formula yet.  MM10's one of those games in which the difficulty varies on how much experience you have with the prequels.  A lot of the hazards in this game can be avoided by reflex and quick thinking, while MM9 was mostly a game of trial-and-error.

Treble Item and Treble Rescue. They act kinda like Eddie and Beat. ^^;

Unlike Rush, Treble's actually loyal enough to jump into a pit to save his master!

Megaman 9 had that fake difficulty thing going on; you'd die because the game would throw out something that you had really couldn't avoid on reaction (i.e. prizegrabbers).  Because of that the game was much easier once you knew where all of the traps were. Megaman 10 has eliminated that, so that when you die here it's actually your fault.  The results you get in this game are actually based on skill instead of memorization, and it's one of the reasons why I think this game blows 9 out of the water!

I love activating the Water Shield next to big enemies like the giant stompy thingy.

Water Shield essentially becomes a hydro-powered machine gun when you're next to large enemies.

Ice Wave and Chill Spike in the same game...YES!!!  8) (I know the former isn't useable, but hey!)

If anything it's nice to know that I'm still able to dodge all of those old moves fairly easily, although I don't remember Ice Wave being that high...
