Aren't HMs the ones that can be used indefinitely? Asks the miniscule Pokemon fan who's only played Red and Blue

"Oh no you don't!" Sakura shouted as she ran outside "Go Shiva!"

Sakura threw her Pokeball and her Jynx came out.

"Shiva use Psychic!" Sakura ordered.

"Jynx!" Shiva said as she used Psychic to lift Jessie in the air.

Jessie yelps as she struggles to keep a tight grip on the card while Hierophant struggles to wiggle her loose.

Jawbreaker landed on the ground but did not appear to be fazed one bit. He instead meandered towards a levitating Jesse and clamped his jaw around her hair before swinging her into James with little effort.

"Wow, what cranky old lady," Pyro casually remarked, "Maybe she needs a bedtime."

Memphis crossed his wings and nodded in agreement, "Lee-on."

Jessie yelps as the Garchomp grabs her hair and attempts to fling her towards the basket where James laid.  In her panic, she grabs Hierophant's hair, inadvertently dragging him along with her just as James staggered to his feet to see what was going on.

"Don't just stand there, James!  Stop me!" Jessie squealed.

James yelps as he threw his hands towards her, causing both her and Hierophant to glow and screech to a halt.  While this was going on, Jessie reached behind Hierophant and grabbed the bag still slung onto his shoulder.

"Keep him still while I wrench this of out of his hands!"

James gulps as he keeps a magical hold on Hierophant's personal gravity, keeping him stiff and still as Jessie pulls the bag loose and dumps it into the basket, pulling it open to find nothing inside.

"What the...!?" she yelps before springing to her feet and grabbing Hierophant by the collar of his shirt, "Alright you, where are those cards!  I know I saw you take one out and stick it onto your back!"

"As much as I know you aren't completely evil, I'm not about to tell you anything that will just give your boss something to use against the innocent," Hierophant mutter exasperatedly.

Jessie snarls as she slaps the Wheel of Fortune card on her back and raises her hand towards him, "You better tell me, or I'll-!"

I don't think the anime or manga stuck to the leveling system either.  Once a Pokemon evolves, they immediately know more powerful moves without having to level up first to get them.

James squeals again as he throws his hands towards him, "GET AWAY FROM ME!!!"

Jawbreaker suddenly glowed as his entire being was sent flying out of the basket.

Jessie threw Seviper to the side, her once pretty face now horribly disfigured with overblown anger.

"Very well then....  If you're so inclined to play games...." She points her hand towards the oncoming Hydro Pump, "Simon says STOP!"

The Hydro Pump screeches to a halt a few inches from her.  She then meanders over to Meowth, who seemed to be too busy tossing and munching on the nips he grabbed from Quickie, Garfield-style, and kicks him straight towards the stalled water projectile.

"Quit scarfing like a Swinub and do your job!"

Meowth lands just a few inches from the Hydro Pump, staggering to his feet and struggling to get the back off him as it had engulfed his large, oval head.

While Jessie was in the middle of fuming over Meowth's lack of contribution, Hierophant slips part way behind her and rips the card off her back, causing her to yelp in surprise as the halting effects she created outside to wear off.  Pokeballs left dangling in the air fell to the ground and opened up, releasing every Pokemon concealed inside, who faced Jessie with intentions of giving her more than a good licking, while the Hydro Pump continued its trajectory towards Meowth, slamming into him as another human-like cat yowl echoes throughout the town, drawing all the water towards it and causing him to glow blue.

Jessie snarls in aggravation as she grabs the card before Hierophant has a chance to run away from her, "Oh no you don't!  That card belongs to me!  And if you don't want to feel anymore of our wrath, you'll give me the rest of the cards you have stashed in your bag!"

As for James, Mr. Spook appeared before him bearing a malevolent grin. He opened his mouth to roll out his elongated tongue that dripped with ectoplasm, which he used to lick James on the face.

James squeals an almost unmanly yelp as he falls onto his back, trembling in paralyzed agony, "Oh the humanity....  Why couldn't I have a more fitting card to control...."

Pyro danced around a dazed Jesse and shook his head, "You're really bad at this game, aren't you?"

Jessie, meanwhile, immediately snaps out of her gaze as she glares at Pyro prancing around her, "Why you...!"

She jumps to her feet and lobs her Pokeball towards him, "Seviper!  Put that brat in his place!"

Once released, Seviper hisses and springs towards Pyro, intending to wrap him in its slithering body and squeeze him to submission.

Quickie shook off the spell and spun about on her heel, to see Meowth attacking.  "Hey!  Meowth!  Over here!"  She quickly fumbled through her backpack, digging through her supplies, before she pulled out a bag with a shredded green substance inside, and an image of a very content Meowth on the package.  "Lookie what I goooooot!"  She waved the bag in the air.

Hearing the sound of rattling paper, Meowth eyes the source to see Quickie holding a bag of what appears to be Meowth chow.

"FOOD!" he yowls before letting go of Excalibur, allowing him to fall, slightly dazed to the floor while springing towards the outstretched meal, his fangs still sparking from still activating Thunder Fang.

Pyro appeared behind them from seemingly nowhere, "Simon says... it's Thriller night!"

Jawbreaker took a bite of the stereo that played music Michael Jackson's "Thriller." When the trio spun around, they found Pyro along with Mr. Spook, Memphis, and Loki (to say nothing about the two dozen or so townsfolk now decked in zombie make up) playing out a
very familiar scene
.

Jessie just about spouted an erupting volcano on her head, "Ooooooooo, how dare you not be affected by my time-altering abilities!"

She threw her hand towards the dancing zombie-dressed mob, "STOP!"

James and Meowth immediately ducked below the basket as another inverted flash surrounds the group, causing them to stop in their tracks.

Quickie just watched, still frozen, and her legs were beginning to cramp.  She refocused her concentration, this time on her limbs.  If she could move one, she could break free.  She just had to concentrate.  Focus on something small... a thumb.  Her right thumb.  Focus on her right thumb... and move it... Just move your thumb...  Doesn't have to be a lot, just move your thumb...  Wiggle your thumb...

While this was going on, Hierophant poked his head out the door and pointed his staff towards Quickie, "Esuna!"

The orb on his staff glowed as it dispersed and twirled around Quickie, allowing her to move normally.  Unfortunately, Jessie saw the flash and turns her head to see him attempt to say something.

"Wel, well!  If it isn't the magical brat who refused to share his powers with the rest of Team Rocket!" she chortles before pointing her hand towards Hierophant and Quickie, "Now I'll make you regret hogging all the power for yourself!"

Hierophant grits his teeth as he points his staff towards Jessie, "Miracle Beam!"

The orb glows brightly, causing a burst of white lightning to surround her as she lets out a rattled yelp before falling onto her back, slightly dazed.

Before he could focus on the rest of the town, Meowth suddenly drops in front of him, a gleam in his eyes.

"Now its time to put my abilities to the test!" he snickers while bringing his claws out in preparation for giving Hierophant a good, painful scratch.

"Thunder Fang, Excalibur!" Chariot shouts while pointing towards Meowth.

Excalibur suddenly bounds over Hierophant, landing behind Meowth and biting down on his claw-protruding paw, sending a surge of electricity towards him.  Meowth immediately jumps and spreads his remaining limbs out while shouting in pain...only to suddenly grin sinisterly.

"Gotcha...." he snickers.

Before either could figure out what, a human-sounding cat screech rang in their ears as the electricity trailed off Meowth's body and into the card on his back, causing a yellow glow to outline his being.  Meowth smirks deviously before leaping towards Excalibur, his fangs sparking with electricity.

"Let me show you a real bite!"

He clamps his sparking fangs on Excalibur's ears, causing a flood of electricity to surround his body as he yowls in pain while struggling to shake the seemingly unorthodox Pokemon off him.

Jessie frowns as she turns her glare towards James and Meowth, who were unaffected by the Stop spell due to standing on the other end of the basket where her gaze won't reach them, "Which one of you just said that!?  You trying to spoil our plans this early in production!?"

"What're you talking about," James proclaims, "I didn't say anything!"

"Me neither!" Meowth yelps.

Jessie's frown tightens to the point of casting shadows before turning her attention back towards the frozen side of the field, "Whatever!  What's done is done, and all that's left is to get all the pokeballs that are in the air."

She then turns her glare back towards James, "Why don't you make yourself useful and lower me to the ground.  I want this entire town to know exactly how much we've changed since we last came here."

James sighs in defeat as he holds his hand towards her, causing a white outline to surround her.  Maneuvering his hand around, he effortlessly lifts Jessie out of the basket and down towards the dirt-covered ground.  She then begins to meander around each pokeball, plucking them out of the air and sticking them into a bag she picked up from the basket.

"Just lick picking cherries from a bush," she giggles happily.  She doesn't seem to realize Pyro was unaffected by her spell.

Well, I guess I should add that he can only redirect and imprint one attack at a time, leaving the holder vulnerable to any other attacks thrown at him/her at the same time as the first.

Hierophant flinched nervously as the barley visible basket of the hot air balloon drifts into the vicinity of the town.

"There's that trio again!" one of the remaining townsfolk shouts.

"Haven't they learned their lesson the last time they tried to steal our Pokemon!?"

"Let's chase them out!"

Some pulled out their Pokeballs while others grabbed sticks and stones from wherever they could grab and prepared to throw them at the trio.  Jessie, back at the front of the basket, cackles maniacally while pressing the back of her hand against her cheek.

"Oh, this'll be too easy!  You all just became my first guinea pigs!"

She then thrusts her hands out in front of her, "STOP!"

Almost half the town flashed an inverted hue, causing all of the haphazard projectiles and Pokeballs to stop in their tracks and everyone not inside their homes or the Pokemon Center froze in place, only being able to see and think.

"Hey!  What's going on!?" the trainers inside the Pokemon Center shout as they ran to the doors, "Why's everything floating!"

"Some kind of powerful Pokemon!?" another proclaims.

Chariot, quickly recognizing the kind of spell being cast, shoots a glare towards Hierophant, who exasperatedly throws his hands up in defense, "I swear, I made sure they were still in the bag when those Team Rocket members tried to steal it from me!"

Well, I guess now is a good time to expose a bit of a warning and maybe get a few suggestions that won't incidentally lump me into the god-modding crowd.

Jessie, James and Meowth each have three of the cards that will more or less reveal the source of Hierophant's white magic, and all three of them have different powers that may or may not break the balance of the Pokemon RP.

The Wheel of Fortune card has Time Magic, which only controls the energy flow of those within the visual range of whoever holds the card; meaning they can speed up, slow down, or freeze any number of targets in place for as long as they remain untouched.  The card can also foresee everything that happens to the holder and those they're familiar with, allowing them to know what's going on and what they should be doing about it.

The Hanged Man card grants telekinesis, allowing whoever holds the card to control the gravity of any object or being they point to.  However, as displayed on the post, the Hanged Man must always be in the proper upside down position, or their entire body gets flipped upside down, preventing them from moving until the card has been removed.

The Fool card grants Blue Mage abilities.  Not only will it unwittingly redirect any attacks towards it, it imprints the technique into the holder's conscience, allowing them to almost flawlessly mimic any attack without interruption or practice.

While the spells and abilities can be lost if the card is taken away from the from the holder, using any one ability gained from the card more than 50 times for one target, or 100 times for multiple targets without interruption or using another ability will cause the holder to become permanently knowledgeable in the art of performing it, though in a much weaker state than when in possession of the card.  That means if Jessie were to cast Stop more than 100 times on multiple targets, she will be able to continually use it without Wheel of Fortune, but only be able to affect one target at spell.

There are two other flaws aside from taking the cards away and weakening the spells they've learned.  As long as the cards remain within their grasp, they can cast as may spells as their magical energy can afford them, but if the cards were separated more than a few feet, and they don't continually cast at least one spell per day, the energy starts to weaken to the point of nonexistence.  The second is that holders become immune to any status ailments cast by their opposing cards (I.E. if a holder were to use Sleeping Powder after Fool gains it from a Pokemon, it won't affect those holding the Hierophant, Death, or Devil cards).

I doubt it's no big deal, but I want to be sure I'm not going too far before continuing with the Team Rocket trio's vengeful entrance into Stone Town.

Well, I'd say that the cause for Hajime having to work on the Wily Star II was more because of his attempts to deter the reason he aided the Berbils than the shenanigans of Tarot Cat's cards, but I figured newcomers would come across my recap first, so I kept silent about it. 8D

Meanwhile, not far from Stone Town, a familiar, Meowth-headed blimp drifts along the clouds, carrying the equally familiar trio within its green, wicker basket.

Jessie stands proudly before the opposing wind, staring at an oddly familiar card, its picture facing her to reveal a constantly spinning wheel.

"Isn't it just divine; to be able to control the very space around us with a simple command?" she sighs while sticking the card onto the bare skin of her back, "I can't wait to get my hands on the other 19 cards that pretty boy has stashed in his bag."

James and Meowth, meanwhile sat slumped against the walls of the basket, lamenting the cards they were stuck with.  James held an eerily upside down man, who had been doing nothing but stare back at him while chewing on his twig, while Meowth stared at a snot hanging person (minus the cat) ducked up to his head below the card's frame, moaning like a cat.

"I still say we should have brought this to the boss' attention during that meeting," Meowth mutters worriedly, "You know how much he hates being anywhere but the second to know anything important."

"And have him hog all of the good cards!?" Jessie exclaims while turning to bend towards the two and plant her hands on her hips, "I assure you, he will have the rest of those cards once we've sorted out the ones we want to keep!"

"I don't suppose we can sort out the ones we already have...." James groans, "This card's already starting to creep me out!"

Jessie gets into James' face, almost startling him into dropping his card, "Well, tough!  You'll just have to make do with what we can salvage from that lifeless junk of a cat toy!"

"Speaking of salvaging...!" Meowth snickers as he peeks over the basket to find they were drifting towards a familiar mountain.

"Well, well!  We arrive here again!" Jessie humphs while slamming her foot on the edge of the basket and pumps her fist in front of her, "This'll be the perfect place to put our new-found powers to the test!"

She turns her head towards her two male cohorts, "Arm your cards!  It's time to pay this town back for humiliating us in the past!"

"Roger!" the two responded while holding their cards up, Meowth with a boisterous tone while James meekly squeaked.  They then slap the cards onto their back, only for James to suddenly fly off the ground and flip upside down.

"Eee!!!  HELP!!!  MY HEAD'S ABOUT TO EXPLODE!!!" he shrieks while flailing his arms and legs about as his face starts to turn red from the blood rushing to his head.  Jessie almost blew a vein as she slams her foot onto his chin, shoving him into the floor of the basket before ripping the card out to find he had ignorantly turned it around before sticking it onto his back.

"You moron!  The Hanged Man is supposed to be upside down!" she seethes while slapping the card in its proper position on James' back now floored back, causing a pained squeak to escape his embarrassed lips.

"I was never a fan of fortune telling...." James groans in defeat.

The floor the interrogation room stood on shook as Hierophant and Death had wandered into the area, still looking for someplace to camp out and keep watch of both Emperor and the other cards.  Though it was against their better judgement they decided to head over there and see what was wrong.

Keeping as good a distance from the door to avoid the genderless being from detecting them (as they had sensed his presence in the room), Hierophant used his staff to peer into the room, finding a small group of people surrounding WilyII, some watching a feed most likely taken earlier while one had dropped in from the ceiling, obviously by brute strength.

"Maybe we should continue this observation from an obscure distance," Death whispers to Hierophant, "Don't want that...thing coming after us after your little interrogation with the old bat."

Hierophant compresses his lips in concern before making his way towards the broom closet a few yards down, his staff still pointed towards the room to see what else was going on.

I'm contemplating having Jessie, James, and Meowth show up to cause their usual mayhem while harboring a deep dark secret only Hierophant, Chariot, and their Pokemon know about.  The contemplating part is whether they should pop in before or after Mewtwo gets rescued, seeing as they're the only members of Team Rocket who haven't had their memory erased after their second encounter with him and may have to owe him for it. 8D

Chariot twirls around to face Quickie, balancing the base of his spear on the back of his neck while holding it with both hands.

"You kidding?" he then starts poking the back of Hierophant's neck with the foot end of his spear while still keeping it balanced on the back of his shoulders, "Aside from giving Excalibur and his sister something to do, I gotta make sure Mr. Pacifist here doesn't think about encouraging any second-guessing members of that group into a career change without at least getting to know the layout of their hideaway better."

"That same kindness is what saved our home from being crushed by a ten story mass of bricks originally controlled by a time-altering being," Hierophant mutters with furrowed eyebrows and his hands tightly latched behind his back.

"I don't have a compass, per se," Hierophant began, "But I have a spell that can show me a bird's eye view of the entire region.  It's not completely accurate, but if I can use that with my ability to sense Tarot Energy, we could narrow down the number of mountains to the one that Team Rocket is hiding in."

He looks towards his staff, "I've tested it out earlier, and so far haven't had any psychic disabilities thrown at me.  But I have a feeling that Alakazam your friend mentioned earlier may be watching us and might start causing problems once we get closer to the area."

Chariot tsks in frustration, "Figures you get sidetracked this quickly.  At the rate your going, Ryo's never going to make it as a leader of Blazkrieg's Pokemon division."

Hierophant looks towards Chariot with a bit of annoyance disfiguring his youthful feature, "At least I don't jump at the chance to fight anyone that comes begging for a match."

Chariot turns his back on Hierophant and rubs the back of his helmet, "Ah, whatever.  After what he and his two battery mice said, I figured you, at least, are going to need more help than you're willing to accept.  If nothing else, it'll at least prove to everyone that Justice isn't the only knightly warrior that wants to protect everyone they come across."

Hierophant's frown tightens a little more as he looks towards Ryo, Posu and Nega, who were innocently diverting attention from him; Ryo whistling and scratching the base of his foot with the toes of his other foot, Posu "ignorantly" grooming herself while Nega pretended to take a nap.
