Jessie shoots a glare towards James, who was already on the verge of backing away in defeat of wanting anything to do with their current predicament, and Meowth, who was still teetering about, swirly-eyed and groaning comically before the flock of Pidgey spinning around his head, before yanking out her other four Pokeballs.

"Fine then!  I can handle her myself if it means keeping some loyalty to Team Rocket!" she snarls before throwing the Pokeballs out, unleashing the rest of her horde.

"Attack at will!  Use whatever means necessary to take those Pokemon down!"

Yanmega flapped her wings madly, sending swirling gusts of silver wind towards the trio, while Seviper charged as close as possible and swings its poison-glowing tail towards the closest Pokemon, and Woobat unleashes its Hidden Power.

Wobbuffet, unfortunately, just stood by Jessie's side and plopped its squarish fin on its head.

"Wobbuffet...."

Jessie struggles hard to restrain her frustration towards her roller-coaster of a Pokemon.

Frillish couldn't decide who to retaliate to and was quickly floored by Mabel's claws and Phoenix's slamming Return.  Jessie fumes at the dazed Pokemon as she pulls out her Pokeball and pulls her back inside.

"I'm not done yet!" she seethed, "I still have four more Pokemon raring to fight at my command!"

"She seems worked up...." Chariot mutters exasperatedly.

"Considering the amount of frustration and helplessness weighing her down, I wouldn't be surprised...." Hierophant sighs.

"Let's add a little more challenge to our game; unleash another cloud of Mist!" Jessie commands.

Frillish spews out another surrounding of frosty white clouds, barely managing to out maneuver the oncoming Shadow Ball.

"Now launch another Shadow Ball and follow it up with Psychic!"

Frillish conjures up another Shadow Ball and throws it at Blanc before her eyes flashed white, attempting to freeze Blanc into place so the Shadow Ball can hit without fail.

"Is that card thing I saw on your back one of those too?" Sakura asked Hierophant.

Hierophant nods, "The one I have can cast healing and offensive magic" he then pauses a moment as he looks at his staff while scratching the back of his head, "Unfortunately, my first attempt at casting an offensive spell almost burnt down an entire building, so I've been holding off on any further practicing until I find a less hazardous place to work on my impact endurance."

"You wanna play Shadow Ball!?  Allow me to serve!" Jessie proclaims before looking towards Frillish, "Show that Togekiss how to throw a real Shadow Ball!"

Frillish holds her feathery arms up as a sparking, shadowy ball appears before her, with one meager push, she throws it towards the two oncoming Shadow Balls, causing a larger explosion that pushed back everyone in the vicinity.

Chariot stabs his spear into the ground and uses it as an anchor to keep from flying back while Excalibur stands between Sakura, Hierophant and the other smaller Pokemon and uses himself as a shield to keep them from getting caught in the ensuing gust.

"I can only tell you that each of the 22 cards has a special power they can grant to those who stick them onto their body, preferably the back where it's the least...questionable...."  Hierophant tries to explain amidst the loud booming noise.

"Useless waste of intellect, if you ask me," Chariot grumbles only to be knocked over by Excalibur shoving his nose against his side.

James struggles to think of something, but ends up getting knocked over again by Yamask flying into him from Mabel's Night Slash slamming into it.

"You can be mean...." Meowth moans before getting hit in the head with a giant koban that shatters into smaller ones and flies into the card on his back and surround him with a gold glow.

"Well...if he hasn't learned Pay Day then, he does now...." Hierophant mutters while scratching his cheek.

Too bad Meowth was overwhelmed with scratches and bites to think straight as he staggers to his feet, eyes swirling while he stumbles around, trying to see where's what.

Jessie was too focused on the state of her Frillish to pay any notice to everything else around her.

"Hurry!  Counter with your Bubble Beam!" she demands.

Frillish attempts to fire off her Bubble Beam just as Phoenix closes in on her.

"Counter with your own Shadow Ball, Frillish!" Jessie exclaims frantically.

Frillish attempts to conjure up a huge ball of dark energy only to be whacked by Phoenix's Return attack, throwing her towards Yamask, who barely jumps out of way, inadvertently allowing her to collide into James, who was still lost as to whether he should get involved or not.

Meowth, meanwhile struggles to overcome everything that was being thrown at him.  He wanted to obtain the Pay Day attack, but Mabel's Fury Swipes kept distracting him from staying within the range of where the coins would hit.

"Don't remind me!~" Meowth yelps, "I still have my own survival to worry about!~"

Jessie fumes as she shoots a glare towards James, "Are you just going to stand there!?  Get in here and help us!"

"Uh...right...!" James yelps before pointing towards Blanc, "Use Night shade on that Togekiss!"

Yamask's eyes glow as its body glows a pale purple, sending rings of dark energy towards Blanc.

Meowth yelps and yowls in pain as the slashes scratched every area that wasn't blocked by the card, and Phoenix's increased pressure of her Crunch intensifies the pain riding up his tail.  Due to already having obtained Night Slash he was no longer immune to its critical beat down.  Surprisingly the card remains unscathed despite the amount of claw marks being racked across its decorative back.

"Don't let them get that card, Frillish!  Use Psychic on that scrawny Meowth!"  Jessie demands.

Frillish's eyes glow as a white outline surrounds Mabel, slowing her to a stop.  A meager toss of her feathery arms sends Mabel flying into the air just as the Aura Sphere flew towards Meowth, causing another yowl to draw the energy out of the sphere and into the card, flashing an outline of blue around Meowth as the ability is added to his conscience.  Desperate to alleviate his predicament, he turns his body towards Phoenix launching an equally powerful Aura Sphere from his paws.

Meowth barely got to his feet when Phoenix clamped down on his tail, sending a mildly familiar sensation of pain trailing up to his brain.  He shrieks loudly before leaping into the air only to be tethered straight towards Phoenix.  Regaining enough of his senses despite being in a world of pain, he taps into the Thunder Fangs he picked up from Excalibur and attempts to aim for the Flareon's ear, the closest he could get considering the length of his tail, his fangs sparking with electricity the closer he got to his target.

"Then act like the trainer he trusts and fight for his safe return!" Jessie proclaims, "As I've stated before, our loyalties still lie with Team Rocket, and we can't afford to betray them even for a friend.  Even the brat and his Pikachu knew this during the times we were forced to put aside our differences and work together."

Sakura nodded as she got up and ran to where Quickie was.

Hierophant watched Sakura leave before looking towards the rest of his and Chariot's Pokemon, "We should go too.  We can't let more than just those trio know about the magical properties of Tarot Cat's cards."

The group nods as they run off after Sakura, Excalibur gaining the lead due to his speed bust from his earlier Flame Charge.

"Pheonix, ease off, Mabel, Night Slash," Quickie motioned for the Flareon to return and for the scrawny Meowth to take the charge.  Mabel dodged the Bubble Beam, as it was not directed at her, and unsheathed her claws, leaping at Frillish with a shrill screech.

"Out of the way Frillish," Jessie commands, "Let's leave the cat fight to the cats!"

Frillish leaps out of the way, revealing Meowth standing behind her, his claws out and ready to retaliate.

"I've always wanted to try a claw attack that won't damage my nails!" he snickers as he lets the claws rake across his face.  Though the force threw him a few feet from where he stood, the glowing properties of the Night Slash crawled out of the gashes created by the claws and crawled towards the card on his back, causing another agonized, human-like cat yowl that surrounded him with purple glowing energy.  While struggling to get up through the pain, he inhales deeply and fires a Hydro Pump towards his female counterpart.

"First rule of battle: know your opponents weakness and how best to counter it," Jessie proclaims before pointing towards the charging Flareon, "Go ahead, Frillish!  Show them what I mean with a Bubble Beam attack!"

Frillish remains in Phoenix's path as she spews out a stream of bubbles in her direction.


Excalibur eventually makes it back to Stone Town, finding Hierophant standing behind Sakura as his Pokemon attempt to calm her down.

The blue haired priest looks towards him, then the distant cloud of mist, suggesting there was a battle going on.

"Maybe we should head over there and keep an eye on the battle, just in case things get a little out of hand," he suggests towards Sakura.

Jessie's smirk widens as she points towards Quickie's Pokemon, "Let's start with a little change in scenery!  Unleash your Mist, Frillish!"

Frillish spews a billowing cloud of mist towards the trio, surrounding most of the area and almost making her and Yamask one with the shadows.

Chariot snorts a bit as he watches from the sidelines, "Not that I don't have confidence that she can handle these guys, but if this is supposed to be some demented test to see just how far she can last in a real battle, a little reinforcement is in order.

Excalibur, though reluctant to sit this battle out, nods reluctantly and charges back towards Stone Town to relay the message to the others left behind.

Jessie humphs, though her earlier sneer had turned into a smirk.  She seemingly doesn't pay too much attention to Xuangzang's presence or demands.

"Let me make this perfectly clear, supposed best friend of Mewtwo," she began, "We want to help him just as much as you do, but you must know how strong our loyalty is to Team Rocket.  We couldn't break into the facility and pull him out even if we knew where they had stashed him.  Not only will we lose our jobs, we'll be hunted down by Team Rocket's most powerful units, who will no doubt cause more damage to you than the loss of a restaurant.  The only way you're going to get us to cooperate is if you force us to do it by beating is in battle.  Perhaps then we can at least get you to the front door before those grunts start attacking us for the sole sake of protecting Mewtwo."

She places her elbow on one hand while resting her chin on the hand attached to it, "If nothing else, consider our battle a test to see just how much you can even fair against the rest of Team Rocket.  Our time spent in battle is the equivalent to the amount of grunts you'll run into if you try rushing into Mewtwo's prison without the proper training and confidence in your Pokemon."

"Time means nothing in the eyes of Team Rocket!" Jessie proclaims before arching her arm back, "Come out, Frillish!"

James sighs as he moves closer to Jessie's side and pulls out his Pokeball, flipping it open instead of tossing it out, "You too, Yamask...."

Meowth muffles a concerned groan while scratching the back of his ear before reluctantly sauntering up to the front line.

"Since it'll be a while before the rest of Team Rocket become aware of these magical cards, I'll only allow Meowth to use his since he wasted all of his talents learning to talk," Jessie states, "And since Team Rocket don't stick to conventions this little scuffle will only end when one side runs out of available Pokemon."

(Just so you know, the Pokeballs Jessie stole earlier were dropped during the scuffle and returned to their respected trainers, so they only have their own Pokemon to call out)

"They... they all left..." Quickie panted.  "He... sent them... all on their separate... ways...  So that they... could live proper lives... as real Pokemon..."  She slowed to a stop and swallowed her breath.  "You... saw him leave...  You saw them all leave...  He told me that Meowth... said that if he... ever saw your balloon... To fly by and say hello."  Dropping her backpack to the ground, she opened it and dug through it for her inhaler.  

Jessie's frown tightened to the point of disfiguring her face to that of an ugly old hag, finding the presence of the inhaler a strike towards her worthiness to being anywhere near Mewtwo.

"So he has....  But I still refuse to believe you, of all people, could have known anymore about him than word of mouth or sighting reports!"

She thrusts her Pokeball towards Quickie, keeping a tight grip so as not to fling it from her hand, "If you're so dead set on rushing into our base and rescuing Mewtwo by your lonesome, then you're going to have to show us just how strong you and your Pokemon are!"

"Us!?" James squeaks, "Don't you think that's a bit much?  She's still recovering from the Haze your Seviper gave her!"

"Have you forgotten the past few times we've encountered our associates who would attack us without even letting us perform our motto!?" Jessie snaps while shooting a glare towards James, causing him to flinch slightly, "They are nothing but ruthless and uncaring; they'll sooner drop a Mamoswine on you before you can even reach for your Pokeball!"

She turns her glare back towards Quickie, "If she can't even catch her breath without help that isn't a Pokemon, there's no way she'll ever survive the place they would most likely have stored Mewtwo!"

Excalibur attempts to leap out and intervene only to be shoved to a lying position by Chariot's hand slapping onto his back.

"Not our fight...." he hissed, "As much as I hate staying out of this, we can't interfere unless one of them breaks the rules...."

James and Meowth eventually noticed Quickie still running after them despite the Haste spell putting at good distance from the town.

"She sure can run fast for someone who's still choking on smoke...." James mutters somewhat bewildered.

Jessie fumes in aggravation before turning around and marching towards Quickie, knocking James and Meowth into separate areas of the dirt pathway.

"That does it!" she seethes, "I'm sick of hearing all this nonsense!"

She then stands tall before Quickie seemingly breathless posture while pulling out another Pokeball, "Give me one good reason why I should believe you even have the right to protect someone as powerful and dignified as that Mewtwo!  Even if you are telling the truth and its been captured by our boss, I refuse to believe a nobody like you could have served as his bodyguard, especially with all those cloned Pokemon that accompanied him during our last encounter!"

Y'know, Team Rocket could be a prime guinea pig for the two Pokemon you picked up so far.  Considering how Jessie's being hampered by Wheel of Fortune beating facts into her skull and the doubtful words of James and Meowth, Jessie might snap and challenge Quickie to a fight just to see how worthy she is to saving Mewtwo.

Hierophant looks between Sakura, Quickie, and the fleeing Team Rocket trio as the haze slowly dissipates, taking in what's been going on so far.

"Something tells me they want to believe everything they heard, but worry they'll look like fools to their reputation and their superiors...." he mutters, more to himself so as not to upset anyone else around him.


"Humph!  The nerve of them!  Claiming they know anything about Mewtwo and even going so far as to show a picture they obviously fabricated with some fancy editing program!" Jessie huffs as she continues marching further from Stone Town.  James and Meowth continue to lag behind, though their slow stance wasn't because of how tired they were from walking.

"But...what if what they said was true?" James asked meekly.

"Yeah...." Meowth mutters, "I've never seen anyone slap so hard and cry over being called a liar."

"Bah!  All I heard were Totodile tears and more outrageous lies!" Jessie proclaims, though her tone was starting to waver from the amount of concern and doubt in her own stubborn belief, "There's no way anyone else could have known about Mewtwo's existence except for us and those brats!"

Time have changed from long ago....  A situation, solved and left alone will spawn a new one, stronger and bolder than before....

Jessie stops in her tracks as she stiffens at the sound of the voice in her head, "Urgh!  It's that voice again!  The one that keeps talking to me everytime I think!"

Deter the words you think are lies...but know that if you do not take them into consideration, you will endanger, and inevitably betray the life of science, of whom you shared a small portion of love and respect to....

Jessie grabs her hair and starts messing with it, screaming at the top of her lungs, "GRAH!!!  SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!  I DON'T WANNA HEAR ANYMORE OF YOUR ASININE FORTUNE COOKIE NONSENSE!!!"

James and Meowth can only look to each other in concern and worry, completely lost as to whether to help calm her down or let that voice in her head continue rambling on in the hopes of making her change her mind.  They then noticed a shadow peeking out of the trees of the forest around them, one dog-shaped while the other looked like a knight, but chose not to bring it to Jessie's attention in the hopes he would at least act as some beacon to lure the rest of the group to their general direction.

Seeing Sakura slap Jessie freaks James and Meowth towards the other side of the tree.

"Eep!  She's done it now!" James yelps.

"Jessie don't like it when her face get's disfigured!" Meowth squeaks.

Jessie's eyes glowed red as her entire body ignites into flames.

"You...will...regret THAT!!!" she seethes before pointing towards Sakura, "Seviper!  Teach that liar a lesson with Haze!"

Seviper bounds between her and Sakura and spews a cloud of hazy smoke in her direction.  While the area in front of it and Team Rocket were almost blinded by the obscuring black mist, Jessie snaps her gaze towards James and Meowth.

"I'm sick of this place!  Let's get out of here before I hear something else that propels me to hurl!"

James and Meowth seemed unsure of Jessie's demands, but meekly retreated from their hiding spot behind the tree and sauntered off after her.

Chariot and Excalibur stumbled out of the haze just in time to see the trio already making their way out of the town, a red glow indicating Jessie has cast Haste on herself and her two male cohorts to hurry them further out of the area.

"Why you!  Get back here with our cards!" he shouts before jumping onto Excalibur and riding him after the magically speeding trio.

"Well your boss showed up here yesterday and kidnapped him!" Sakura shouted "He also destroyed Quickie's restaurant and now she has to move out of Saffron!"

Quickie merely grinned.  "He's been living with me for a few years, now.  He hasn't been on Mount Quena for a while, he told me all about what happened there."  Her smile faded and she managed to wrench herself from Jessie's grip.  "But, long story short, something happened... and we need your help to get him back."

Hearing this, Jessie lets out an overly amused/aggravated laugh before shooting a glare towards Sakura while shoving Quickie towards her, "Oh, that is rich!  Seriously!  I've heard worse lies from that fisherman who kept trying to sell us a Magikarp!"

"Yeah, seriously!" Meowth humphs while crossing his arms, "Anyone who knows Mewtwo knows that every member of Team Rocket except for us have had their memory wiped!  There ain't a psychiatrist in the world who can fish out those memories!"

"Say what!?" the trio shout as James suddenly used telekinesis to disperse the Hydro Pump and spring to their feet.  Jessie then grabs Quickie by the collar of her shirt and yanks her to her face.

"Where did you hear about that Pokemon!  Only we and those brats with the Pikachu know about it!"

"Yeah!" Meowth exclaims, "Last we saw, Mewtwo was living peacefully on that impossibly steep mountain with the other Pokemon he cloned!"

Hierophant and Chariot remained in the background, the familiar picking up his magical duffel bag while the newcomer looked on in confusion as to what was going on since he showed up.

Yeah, and then if she uses Pay Day on her male counterpart while he still has the Fool Card, he can relearn Pay Day himself which he'll have to use at least 50 times in order to make it a permanent ability for as long as he keeps using it!

Flareon can also learn Flame Charge through TM/HM!

"Don't forget Meowth!" Quickie shouted.  "We definitely need him!  He's the key to all this!"

Meowth suddenly appeared beside Quickie, dropped on all fours and rubbing his head against her legs, "I like to thank you for that free meal...."

His eyes then glisten, "But I still know where my loyalties lie!"

He then inhales deeply and prepares to spew a massive Hydro Pump only feel a hand slam onto his back, fingers curling to get the card off his back.  Instinctively he pulls his head around and unleashes the Hydro Pump onto Chariot, who was standing behind him and attempting to get the Fool card away from him.

Despite the massive force of the Hydro Pump, Chariot struggles to push through it and keep his grip on the card, but the wet dribbles eventually made the slick design of the card too slippery and he was sent flying towards Excalibur, who jumped in his aimless path to catch him with his side.  Before Meowth could gloat at his success, three equally powerful Hydro Pumps slammed into him, sending him flying towards Jessie and James as they were attempting to get up, mashing them against the tree for as long as the culprits, Ryo, Posu, and Nega, could expel their stored, water-filled breaths.

Jessie muffles a disgusted squeal as she instinctively lets go of Hierophant, leaving him drifting stiff in the air as she struggles to shake off the icky creepiness paralyzing her every being.

Chariot runs outside and points towards the basket, "Excalibur, Flame Charge that basket!"

Excalibur howls mightily as he bounds out of the Pokemon Center and leaps towards the basket, his entire body bursting into flames as it breaks through the bamboo-woven wicker, setting it ablaze and dropping the two card-wielding Team Rockets falling onto their backs, the landing jostling James into losing focus on Hierophant as he was about to fall himself only to be caught by Excalibur as he pivots around and speeds towards the dirt-covered pathway near the Pokemon Center entrance, his flames hardly heating up his mounter.
