Roleplay / Re: RPM POKEMON ADVENTURE THING

Hierophant coughed nervously as he looks towards the shadows making up most of Steiner's room, remembering what he had sensed earlier and the culprits responsible.

"Well...aside from some psychological trauma, I haven't noticed anything else that would have been considered worse than murder...." he mutters, "I casted a sleep spell on  him, so hopefully he won't remember what happened a few minutes ago."

Hierophant saw Mr. Spook linger out of the room through Pyro's shadow, grinning at him along the way.  Even though he treats ghost Pokemon as equally as all other types of Pokemon, their eerie nature still bothers him.

He quickly turns his attention back to Steiner, pondering what he, himself, should do with his current state.  Any normal person would have walked on, believing he deserved all the hell he caused the entire ship, but his good-natured ways prevents him from going any further than letting others have their fun with the insane scientist until bored, then move on.  Creepy and self-centered as the scientist is, he at least deserves a good, peaceful rest.

Hierophant moves closer to the head of the bed and holds his staff over Steiner's head, whispering softly, "Wind of Sleep."

A Wind Rune appears within the blue orb of his staff, causing a soft, pinkish wind to breeze through the room as cherry blossoms drizzle down upon Steiner's body, causing his fainted body to slowly revert to that of peaceful sleep.  He hopes Steiner would stay asleep long enough for everyone to make it to the nearest town and turn him over to the authorities there, but just to make sure, he decides to stay on patrol just in case the spell wears off too early and he goes on a rampage to cause more damage.

Hierophant moves towards another corner of the room near where the door is and sits on one of the chairs, keeping watch of Steiner and the slowly fading wind that is easing him to his long, restful slumber.

"What ghost Pokemon doesn't play rough...." Hierophant mutters as he looks to the darkest shadow in the room where he presumes Mr. Spook to be hiding in.

Snag.  The lantern of the Hermit is flung back into the darkness of Wily's soul as the rope of the Hanged Man yanks his conscience upside down, discombobulating whatever was going through his mind as another energy creeps its way towards it; a long scythe with a eerie skull at its side.

Death: psychological transition; bringing end to what the soul accepts and forcing it down a path it clearly didn't choose; eliminating what it no longer needs.

Merrick grits his teeth as the scythe arches behind the skull and prepares to swing it at Wily's inner conscience while it continues to dangle upon the tree that snagged it.  Without further thinking, he brings his staff out and points it at the oncoming scythe, causing both its orb and the corners of his card to glow brightly as he attempts to use his pure White Magic to drive the intruding source of Death out of Wily's conscience.

The lights in Steiner's room cut shortly after he entered and the temperature dropped to slightly below freezing so that he could see a small puff of vapor escape from his mouth every time he breathed. Malevolent laughter echoed throughout the room and should he attempt to run away he would find the door completely unresponsive. A dozen eyes of burning crimson with slitted pupils opened before him as did a gaping maw of jagged teeth. Then a giant fork-like tongue lashed out at him with its dripping tips coiling themselves around his wrists. Try as he might to struggle, it was useless to attempt escape. He could feel several claw-like hands rake against his back--and then one of them ripped through the fabric of his coat and dug under his skin to draw first blood. Then another, and another before the creature's tongue pulled him closer to its jaws. Steiner could smell the sulfurous fumes of the creature's mouth and it dragged him inside and brought its jaws down on the evil scientist.

Outside in the corridors of the vessel, Pyro was frantically running around and poking his head in every room and closet, "Mr. Spook? Socks? Where are you?!"

Then a blood-chilling shriek emanated from Steiner's room.

"Oh, they're playing a game with bad Mr. Scientist." 8)

(*Snickers* One reason not to mess with Pyro or his friends. No physical harm came to Steiner... but psychologically... 8D)

Hierophant almost dropped Julia as he was helping her into one of the beds in the sickbay upon sensing a spike of fear and anguish piercing his Tarot Energy.  Genbu and Synthis look towards him as he struggles to keep focused until he finishes spreading her comfortably onto the bed, then looks down to them.

"Keep an eye on her until she wakes up," he said, "I'm...going to go check on that creepy scientist, much as I feel it isn't a good idea...."

The two grass Pokemon look to each other, though uncertain, but do nothing to stop their owner as he leaves sickbay and down to where he felt the sudden spike, seeing a transparent, crescent-shaped moon illuminating from the door.  Whatever the scientist is suffering, it obviously isn't physical.

Hierophant tries to open the door, but finds it wouldn't budge.  This would have been a hint not to go inside, but he worries that if the transparent moon gets any brighter, the scientist may be driven into a murderous rampage that could cause more damage than the detonators he threatened to set off earlier.  Sighing in reluctance, he summons his staff and points it at the bolt keeping the door shut.  A quick flash snaps the bolt in half, allowing him to slowly and carefully push the door open and peak into the eerily dark room.

Laying on the bed, frothing at the mouth is Steiner; the transparent crescent blinking in and out of existence within the realm of his Tarot Energy.  It didn't look like he would spring up at any moment, but Hierophant couldn't help but move further into the room just to make sure whoever caused this made sure the creepily manic scientist was out like a light.

Merrick flinched when he heard the voice; because of his desperation, the back end of the card was sticking out, preventing him from seeing anything but darkness and the energy of other beings  that might approach Wily.  He couldn't tell if that voice actually came from Wily, but the sight a transparent lantern glowing eerily within the darkness of his soul, indicating the presence of the Hermit, reinforced by the accompanying presence of the Four of Swords implying inner contemplation, and accompanied by another presence in the form of a tall tree with a rope ready to snag and flip him upside down, suggests that something within his conscience is spurring him into dark, murderous tendencies.

His first instinct was to blurt out that something was controlling him, but because no one else seemed to understand how Tarot reading works, he has no way of explaining how he knew this and if anyone else was willing to take him seriously.  Reluctantly, he stays silent and waits to see what happens next before deciding how best to raise concerns towards Wily's mental well being.

Ryo, Posu and Nega watch as everyone starts to leave, Synthis and Genbu following Hierophant in helping him find sickbay.  Since they were wide awake and too startled by what's been going on to try sleeping again, they chose to stay with Sakura and see if they can help calm Ahrzyahl down.

Hierophant compressed his lips, equally disgusted by what he had just heard, but at the same time knowing that threats and violence isn't going to achieve anything other than heightened desire for vengeance without investigation or reason to think otherwise.

He gets up, pulling Julia's arm around the back of his neck, "I guess I'd better find a sickbay to take her to and let her rest...."

Posu and Nega tug on his pants legs, pondering what they should do with Steiner's lingering figure.

"I dunno....  Right now I need to focus on getting her somewhere comfortable...." he mutters as he starts to make his way back into the main hallway and attempts to find a sickbay to drop Julia off in.

Merrick, meanwhile, decides to stay glued to Wily's back a while longer in the hopes of keeping him calm and collected.  Connecting to his energy revealed something suspicious that may have been the sole cause of his going out of control and he feels he shouldn't leave the doctor unattended until he either finds a way to explain this, or the weary doctor regains enough of his senses to tell them himself.

Merrick eventually arrives with Posu and Nega not far behind.  They look between his human counterpart resting Julia on his lap, then the fiasco going on inside the engine room with Wily thrashing at one of the ship's scientists.

Merrick hadn't seen what was going on, but got a general idea of what set Wily and almost everyone off through his Tarot Energy.  He didn't want to stop the doctor from letting off steam, but now wasn't the time to channel it on the source of everyone's anguish.

He floats into the room and presses his card against Wily's back, using its healing properties to curb his savage impulse and ease some sense back into him.

Hierophant saw Julia rush out of the engine room with what looked like the last detonator, but before he, Genbu and Synthis coudl react, the device burst into a bright light that quickly fades to a green forcefield.  He didn't have time to sigh with relief when the female scientist topples to the ground in a faint.

Gritting his teeth, he runs over to Julia and drops to his knees, placing Julia's head upon it as he holds his staff over her forehead.

"Cure...." he spoke softly.

The orb glows white as sparkles surround Julia, relieving some of the stress she had suffered since being woken up and sent down here to help with the evacuation of the detonators.

Ryo looks between the two trainers talking about the glasses, then the glasses themselves, and finally the detonators strewn throughout the engine room, pondering if his Mind Reader abilities could pinpoint any other bombs laying hidden within the ship, and which of them are duds.

Keeping near the entrance to avoid being a distraction to Mewtwo, he closes his eyes and focuses on the entire structure of the ship, sending mental ripples through the entire structure and seeing which one hits something similar to what was seen in the schematics brought up by Julia and Froslynn, transmitting visual images of the area they might be located in.  Despite the turbulence caused possibly by the explosion outside the ship, he continues to keep his ground.

The same couldn't be said for what happened outside the engine room, as Hierophant, Genbu and Synthis almost fell to the ground from the shaking foundation.

Back in Hierophant's quarters, the jostle finally woke Posu and Nega from their deep sleep, the Plusle jumping to her feet and whipping her head around in frantic confusion while the Minun moans and rubs his tear-crusted eyes.  Merrick, unaffected by the shaking due to his floating card state, looks outside the nearby window to see a faint fiery glow fading from the distance, suggesting someone had found the detonators and threw them outside before its plethora of triggering mechanisms went off.

Hierophant found himself being moved towards the entrance to the engine room, looking outside in time to see Synthis and Genbu show up.  Unsure of whether a fight might ensue during everyone's attempts to deactivate the bombs, he rushes out towards them.

"Don't come any closer to the engine room," he calls out to the two grass Eevee and the miniature Continent Pokemon as he runs towards them and kneels before them placing a hand on their shoulder as a means to stop their advance, "The engine room's wired to detonate and we don't need any more casualties of their attempts fail.  We should wait out here until their turned off before heading inside and dealing with the scientist that created them."

Synthis and Genbu's eyebrows furrow in concern as they look past Hierophant and towards the entrance to the engine room, unsure of his decision, but knowing enough about explosives to know when to keep their distance until further noted.

Back in the engine room, Ryo watches Mr. Spook attempt to use Disable to halt the mechanics of the bomb.  Though he believes the idea wouldn't work, he still kept the concept in mind so he could use his Copycat abilities on the other detonators should the idea somehow hold merit.

Hierophant grit his teeth as the other owners of the ship busted in, one of them trying to reverse the situation to make it seem like the insane doctor was the one causing the problems.  Could she also be on his side, trying to off or take Mewtwo back to Team Rocket at the cost of their own lives?

There was a glaring amount of confusion drifting from their energy, indicating that something Team Rocket had said is boggling them into thinking it was all Mewtwo's fault simply because he harbors stronger psychic powers than every other Pokemon in existence.  If that was the case, there was nothing he would say that won't immediately be rebutted as another manipulative attempt at the poor, misunderstood Pokemon.

But then he started to notice Ahrzayl somehow unaffected by any confused claims or lies her own companions were drilling into her brain and continued to charge towards Steiner, intent on apprehending him and deactivating the bombs.  He had to say something to get their attention back to the situation at hand.

"Let's settle the dispute later!" he calls out as he goes back to using his Staff to identify the location of the bombs and means of deactivating them, "Right now, we need to figure out how to turn these bombs off before they do us all in!"

Back in the sleeping quarters, Merrick starts to sense some commotion down in the engine room and begins waking up the other Pokemon.

"Hierophant and the others need help," he coaxed, "Hurry and wake up!"

While Posu and Nega were slow to wake up, Synthis and Genbu sprang to their paws at the mention of Hierophant's predicament and rushes out of the room, using their own noses to pinpoint his scent and locate the engine room where he is supposedly in."

"Let's worry about that later," Hierophant said as he moves to the edge of the cylinder he stood on and uses his Libra spell to identify its programming and means of removing it, "We should get all these bombs off the tanks before he comes back to his senses and uses something else to set them off!"

It was already clear that the detonators could be activated by Steiner's glasses, but he had experienced enough explosives to know there was more to deactivating them than simply the press of a button.  He needed to make sure these didn't have any secondary measures that would set them off with a mere brush of his hand.

Hierophant grits his teeth as Steiner reaches for his glasses, not realizing that Pyro had switched them earlier, and that Steiner had frozen himself in realization of this.

Several intentions ran through his mind; he could hit him with Miracle Beam, but it would only startle him into hitting the button on his glasses.  They could try removing the detonators, but there were so many surrounding the six cylinders; they would only have enough time to remove one before Steiner presses the button.

Desperate for a solution, he thrusts his staff towards Steiner, shouting almost hysterically.

"STOP!!!"

The orb glows black and shoots towards Steiner, causing a similar dark glow to surround and stiffen every joint in his body.  Ryo takes this moment to jump off the cylinder and roundhouse kick the glasses off Steiner's face before one of Pyro's Pokemon attempt to poke and inadvertently release him from the spell.

The sinistry billowing from Steiner's soul was overwhelming; he was definitely up to something; something that may cost the lives of everyone on this ship.  Ryo's dog-ear-like flaps shook as he prepares to confront him only to be pulled to a duck by Hierophant, who was ducking under the obscurity of one of the cylinders.

"Wait...." he hissed, "We can't just charge him without knowing what kind of trap he might have set for everyone...."

Ryo looks towards him, seeming unsure of where he was going with this, "My understanding of vehicles is still shoddy, but if I were to guess, these cylinders aren't actually full of water, but some kind of fuel-type liquid that could easily explode with something similar to a lit torch."

He points his staff to the cylinder they stood on, "Let's see if I can cast Libra without being spotted, then we'll know whether there are anything that might set off these tubes."

The orb glows brightly as he sweeps it around the area, attempting to uncover anything that might be used to ignite the cylinders they stood on.

Merrick looks between the two groups getting ready to head off towards their assigned destination before deciding to head back to Hierophant's room to check up on the remaining Pokemon sleeping there and wait for any signal to wake them up and send them down to the engine room to help out.

"Well, now what?" Danny mutters while still projected out of his card, which continued to sit on Excalibur's back, "It's still early in the evening and that Stun Spore didn't do too much damage to either of us."

"It's been a while since I caught any wild Pokemon," Chariot sighed as he laid on one of the bottom bunks and ran his finger over the nose of his lion emblem, "And with Sting still in Hierophant's bag, relying on just Excalibur to protect Tarot Skitty might not be enough.  Maybe we could check out the Safari Zone and see if we can catch any of the Pokemon running loose there."

"Didn't that place close down and get replaced by a park of sorts some time ago?"

"Who knows, I travel a lot and barely stick around to see what's changed or not."

Chariot sits up and bounces off the bed onto his feet, "In any case, it'll at least kill some time before we either crash for the night, or the others show up to bunk at the Pokemon Center."

"I suppose you're right...." Danny shrugs as he and Excalibur follow Chariot out of the room and towards where the Park/Safari Zone is located.

Loki's sudden yank jerked Merrick's card to a face down position in midair, causing the projected part of his body to dangle outside its painted background while he lifts his head to watch Sakura pull a seemingly half-sleeping Quickie to the side and whisper what he had been suspecting when he sensed the spike earlier in the evening.

Merrick continues to observe the scheme between Sakura and Pyro before the voice in the glasses spoke up again.

"Agent 054, are you still there!?  We need your exact coordinates so we can...talk in person...."

Merrick looks between Pyro and the glasses, unsure of whether the immortal boy was within earshot of the voices, before attempting to throw the receivers off.

"Er...sorry....  We're about to go into a tunnel!  I think you're breaking up!" he mutters nervously.

"Who is this!?  Where's Agent 054!?"

Merrick grimaces before letting out a mental sigh, "Sometimes I wish this card came with a voice modifier...."

He then tries to pull the glasses higher off the ground while continuing to haul them towards a nearby opening.

Merrick continues to stare at the glasses left behind by Pyro, unsure of what he should do with them.  They obviously shouldn't be left active, considering they might be bugged, but at the same time his curiosity starts to get the best of him and he drops his card down towards their viewpoint as he protrudes partway out of the card and begins poking the buttons before grabbing the left rim and hauling it off the ground, though in his current form the otherwise lightweight handicaps more than triple in weight, making it almost impossible for him to get it a few feet off the ground as he struggles to haul them towards the nearest opening in the ship to throw out.

Hierophant groaned as he was suddenly woken up by the unexpected alert, fixing to go back to sleep when he felt what appeared to be a darkened Three of Pentacles mucking about in said engine room.

He yanks his head towards the other Pokemon who, except Ryo, were out like a light and didn't hear the announcement.  Ryo appeared to have sensed a similar sinister loyalty from his aura ripples and wanted to go down there to figure out and stop whoever was going to cause the other trainers problems.

Hierophant compressed his lips, unsure of whether they'd be walking into a trap early, but knows that if the other Trainers remain oblivious to his suspicions they would have suffered a similar fate.

"Let's teleport down there before everyone else; see if we can get a free look before the others show up," he suggested.

Ryo nods and bounced over to grab his hand while the human Tarot summons his staff and points it into the air.

"Teleport!"

The two flash before disappearing form their room down to where the engine room where they sensed the suspicious, untrusting energy.
