The American localized soundtrack? I never remembered it being different, but the dub was so lame I didn't watch it really.

It is a lack of logical logic.

Kick logic out and do the impossible!

The combat actually looks good, which makes me pretty upset they decided to do YET ANOTHER rehash game with it.

I am not amused, Capcom.

[tornado fang] the 3DS. Legends shouldn't be bound to a handheld. It needs to be a current console generation release, just like the other two. I want it on my nice big HDTV screen, in HD resolution, with a controller that wont cramp my hands cause the unit is too damn thin and small.

Where did that come from? I don't remember that being in any OST I've seen.

It's Capcom Vs SNK 3, you tools

Huh. I didn't even think about that. Now that's something I can really support, as long as it doesn't compromise any buttons. We need a full 6 like CVS2.

Yeah. I meant mirroring. Say you have an object in tiles, that faces left, and you want another that faces right. Perhaps to put on each side of a room. Or maybe there is a corner piece that you wish to mirror for all four corners. That's the sort of things I'd use the mirroring for.

And yeah, Sprites Inc has all their tile sets in a 1 pixel separation. Shame. People need to get equipped with ram management and proper game development techniques.

It urks me that I have to manually add every single tile from the sheet to the tile set itself. I think it would be nicer if I could just hit a "import all as separate tiles" button and it copies over the sheet to tiles. The I can just delete out the ones I don't want.

The other thing I noticed here, which is related to the above, I don't see any way to DELETE a tile.

I think it would be good to add x and y axis flipping to tiles as well.

The Snap option is interesting, but without a zoom in on the sheet window, it may be hard to use properly. Not that I'd ever be caught trying to import a tile sheet that wasn't aligned to a proper grid, but since the option is there...

That's about all I can think of at the moment. Pretty nifty overall.

Axl is a basic gameplay element now thanks to X7/X8, and he has some nifty and commonly used attributes, such as hovering and multi-directional firing mechanics. The teleport switching also is. Room/screen switching is also a basic function found in almost every X game.

986
Of course! Only I would enjoy something like that.

You are not alone.

Does "blocking" under properties mean it acts as a floor/wall?

Hellsing really needs a fighter game. I'm honestly surprised no one has even made a fan game yet.

Hah. Valkenhayn Hellsing. He even looks like Slayer meets Walter. If he has assassin wire I will be amused.

X / Re: Do you like Axl?
« on: July 04, 2010, 08:01:36 AM »
Having also replayed X8 recently, I can say that is not the case. X having the ability to use vastly different types of special weapons, where as Axl uses mostly very similar types, along with his armor abilities makes him play a fair deal different than Axl. On top of that X is a lot more mobile than Axl is in general, and he can attack while moving.

I feel that Axl overshadows X too much. Atleast in X7/X8.

Just to touch on this, since I didn't in my previous post.

I think the way they're planning it, which may not have been intentional from the beginning, it looks like they are going for sets of three. X1-3 was mainly X centric, and showing X's growing potential. X4-6 was mainly Zero centric, revealing the Wily connection, and Wily's continued presence. X7-8 so far have been very Axl centric, with his appearance along with the copy chips.

I think they're trying to do it in sets of three. 1-3 X, 4-6 Zero, 7-9 Axl, and ideally a 10 just to tie up all the lose ends and bring it to a finale ending where all characters reach their final conclusive story closure.

It's a good way to show you your skill growth in my opinion. At first you may have barely beat one at your best. Now you just beat them all consecutively. It's also a good way to help you work out what you've learned through the entire game experience. Things like weaknesses and so forth.

I think only X3 and X4 flat out say it. I don't recall it in the English X2, which I recently replayed. That and you actually DID fight Zero in X2 (usually). The only thing in the English script that semi resembles it is Sigma wondering why Zero didn't follow his orders despite him thinking it was Zero's destiny.

Gaming / Re: What PISSES YOU OFF mid-game?

[objection!]
If you launch your attack first on a 2D fighting game, either your attack should hit before theirs can launch or they should cancel out rather than their attack blasting through yours and hitting you.

Not all games are the same way. The attack type also depends on the collision behavior. For instance. You mentioned 'signature' move, which I could imagine you may be referring to supers. Some games treat supers as attacks with invincible frames at their beginning. In this case it would only make sense that the first to initiate it would be the last one in the invincible period, and thus be damaged. Some games have even more tiers for attack effect types and clashes.

The point being that the CPU is countering YOU. Not the other way around.

X / Do you like Axl?

The childish third man in the primary line of defense for maverick wrong doings... Axl.

Love him, or hate him? Was Axl more, or less, welcome in X8 as opposed to X7? What do you, and don't you like about him?

Some feel he breaks up the tried and true dynamic of the X and Zero partner team. Others feel he fits right in, or even to a greater degree, we should have more actual playable characters much like Command Mission... What do you think?

I thought people didn't like Axl at all. Hmmm, grounds for a tangent thread?

Here's something that pisses me off, and it's just for fighting games in general. When you and and the computer trigger your signature moves at the same time, or you do first, and, instead of yours hitting or the attacks canceling each other out, the computer's attack always hits. I would show what I'm talking about, but I don't have the necessary tech to get an example recorded and put up.

It happens for a good reason in most games. Never heard of countering?

I don't think they would consider Darkstalkers to be bigger than Street Fighter.

I am curious to see what they have in store. As always; fruitlessly hoping for Legends 3.
