I did not know that Mike Inel makes freeware games. Yes, same guy behind these console-tans and had a hand on Katawa Shojou's English release. Speaking of which, the English version of Katawa Shojou is out, which does have adult material, but you can censor that out. I'm starting to like this visual novel, wished I had PC freedom to actually play it. :chant:

But we just haven't been active enough in the threads to prove the love. x.x
Shall we make an EasyGameStation thread starting that image explaining why Recettear is a sweet game? C:

Hello hello~
Wait... Transformers, Sailor Moon, DBZ, Space Ghost: Coast-to-Coast, old Cartoon Network shows that are actually good unlike the live-action shows and sports crap they chose to crap out like now with Level-Up (I'm insulted as gamer now because of this) that no one should give a flying [tornado fang] about, a chance to watch the original Thundercats, and DBZ: Abridged?! Here's a question. How is it that the strategy guide for a game that's $30-40 costs about $75-80?

Rarity and quality? I could say the same for The Art of Yasushi Suzuki artbook I got for Christmas (the book goes for $80-100 now, yet back around 2006/2007, it was originally priced around $27). Though if you want to see a strategy for a game that will cost you an arm and a leg, check out the Official Bayonetta Strategy Guide (read as: As soon as I found this guide at Amazon, and its price tag from what previous customers are saying back then and what it is now, my mind litteraly exploded).

Well then, we gotta start spreading of this as much as possible. Once I get on my brother's PC (whenever that happens), I'm spreading the petition as many places I hang out at (Facebook, Google+, YouTube, etc). </wii>

And to get this out of my head: I'm SO hunting for copies of RayForce, RayStorm, and RayCrisis for PC!

So roughly $30-40 USD (my yen-to-US dollars translation sucks, I know)? Nice. I'd like to have one someday.

ACTA is SOPA if SOPA was worldwide.

Ugh, why do these governments feel the need to control the internet. Seriously. >_>

Over here in America, we've got to worry about the Protect Children from Internet Pornographers Act. Though the cause is noble (and probably will be what passes it), the measures are highly unconstitutional. ISPs will be forced to track and transmit all browsing history of ANYONE suspected of doing anything wrong and those who are suspected can have their houses barged into by police and searched. And then thrown in jail for who knows how long. (LOOK! A PICTURE OF MY CHILD! nope that's child porn you're going away for a long time BUT SERIOUSLY IT'S MY KID nope porn)...

Seriously, Lamar Smith (extremely corrupt idiot who wrote both this and SOPA) needs to lose everything he has. He had copyrighted material all while pushing SOPA (which, under his own act, would send him to jail) so I wouldn't be surprised if he also had some child porn too (which, under PCIPA, would send him to jail).

Actually, there's a rather long list of things that would send him to jail.

Otomedious Excellent. It feels like a downer compared to the original. Why take away the open-ended Stage Select, Sp. Attacks (from holding the Bomb button), the ability to take some damage before losing in a game like Siter Skain's Kamui, re-charge up your Bomb attacks and all that other stuff that made me get into the series in the first place... C'mon Iga, you guys know better than this... ;O;

Gaming / Phantom Breaker will be released overseas in Q1 2012
« on: January 13, 2012, 03:08:12 AM »
"Hey!! You're breaking the rules!!!"

In case anyone hasn't heard by now, Phantom Breaker will be released outside of Japan in early 2012.

Quote from: Spencer @ Siliconera
Update: 7Sixty, a subsidiary of Southpeak Games, sent Siliconera news about the limited edition package. Read about that here.

We may already have this year’s surprise localization. Phantom Breaker, 5pb’s (mostly) gals fighting game for Xbox 360, will be released in North America. The game centers around a Tokyo fighting tournament where the winner will get their wish granted.

Oh, and Phantom Breaker has guests from Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head Noah. Kurisu Makise and Rimi Sakihata are playable characters.

5pb released Phantom Breaker for Xbox 360 in June 2011 and a company (that also with a number for the first “letter” in their name) is bringing the game overseas. Introducing 7Sixty, an Austin based publisher that released Stronghold 3 and have Phantom Breaker slated for release in North America later this year.

Following the announcement about the Phantom Breaker’s release in North America and the special edition, 7Sixty sent us this video of 5pb’s fighting game in action. You could watch it or try Phantom Breaker now. There’s a demo on Japan’s Xbox Live marketplace, which you can grab here with a Japan region Live account.

Phantom Breaker is slated for release early this year.

Xbox 360 trailer

Steam trailer

Anyone of heard of this game? It's an indie game by Iridium Studios for Xbox 360 and later released on Steam and it's a hybrid of a RPG game mixed with a rhythm game like DDR. I know it's a weird concept to grasp, but once I started playing the demo for the Xbox 360 version, I started to enjoy this game. It has a nice tutorial to help you learn the controls of the game and they do some interesting things that most RPGs doesn't do (like trading your experience points to synthesize items and equipment or learn new spells). The game features fully-voiced dialogue and can be funny and witty at times. I haven't heard dialogue this witty since The World Ends with You, but don't take my word for it.
[link]
If you don't like the idea of playing a rhythm game with controller, the developers were considerate enough to allow for compatibility with a dance mat or a guitar used for games like Guitar Hero or Rockband (so far to my knowledge with the Xbox 360 version and I have no idea how that can work for magic casting and whatnot).

You can get this game on Xbox 360 through the indie section of the Game Marketplace (download from your computer to your 360 here) or on Steam for PC, both for under $5. 8)

Great, the used copy of RE4: Wii Edition I got as a gift on Christmas is being a jerkass and not letting me access Separate Ways, and I just finished the damn game as Leon around 2:00 AM after a 4-hour session (I lost track of time) of clearing Chapter 5-1 to the Final Chapter. Well, time to make a stop at GameStop, which is where the used copy came from... -AC

Well, Cephi and I happen to love both the Senko no Ronde games. They are pretty fun. ^^

I'm playing DUO myself. :3
Shame that the media doen't see that way and threated the first game so badly, and because of, no sequel outside of Japan... wished they'd give DLCs for the first game, too... ;O;

I don't to intrude, but why hasn't Cephi accepted my friend request on Xbox Live?

Senko no Ronde.

This game just feels so unappreciated. I can understand people outside of Japan are not  the biggest Shoot 'em Up crowd, but why so much hate for this game. G.REV definitely tried to do something different and the masses are too busy with SSIV cop-outs to even care. The game's not bad at all once you learn the controls and how to play it. Jeez, I mean if anyone in the West can devote themselves to learn how to play Virtual-ON and all of its intricaties, then they should be more than capable to do the same with Senko no Ronde. Too bad there's no one playing the original (and the only person I know who plays this doesn't have Gold membership back yet) and the sequel is farking region-locked... Well just one more character to clear Story Mode and onto Score Attack.

Now to RE4: Wii Edition... </wii>

Gaming / So... Another year without La-Mulana.

Ugh! USK, y u so zetta slow?? X(

Posted on: July 27, 2011, 12:35:25 AM
TL;DR version: A fatal bug found in the original Japanese had to be fixed before the game can get out in other countries (which was already patched as of this writing, and the North American and European versions of La-Mulana will be released with the bugs fixed) and these European ratings boards love to troll us as much as Nintendo trolls NIGORO.

Quote from: 'Shoji Nakamura from NIGORO'
Hello!

I’m Shoji Nakamura, the director of Asterizm (NIGORO), the developers responsible for La-Mulana. La-Mulana was released in Japan earlier this summer. We wanted to give our fans an update on the status. Since Japan and other regions are independent of one another, the release date for North America and Europe couldn’t be decided at that time. I suspect some fans may be waiting impatiently for the game’s release. I am one of them, too.

We NIGORO have done everything what we can. NIGORO and Nicalis are currently working with Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe to coordinate the release in each respective region. All the translation/localization work was completed after the Japanese version. Unfortunately, we found some fatal bugs in the Japanese version after its release and had to resubmit it for an updated game file in Japan. Luckily, the overseas game (that is, the North American and European versions) will already have these major issues addressed.

So, in July, we weren’t able to get lotcheck results for North America or Europe; with the latter, there was a misunderstanding on part of EU’s rating system. We’re in lotcheck now, but can’t announce a release date until we receive final confirmation that the title has passed. I see various differences between Japan and overseas countries. For instance, when we submit to Nintendo of Japan (NCL) versus other regions, the response times are different.

Nicalis, our publisher, is working closely with NOA and NOE. After submission and approval from NOA and NOE, the game files still need to be approved by NCL. Although we have full control over the development of a game, we won’t always have direct control over the process to release a game; this is true for almost any distribution channel, including the Apps Store, PSN, Steam or XBLA. As a result, we have kept you waiting. We are so sorry and regrettable for that. We do our best for releasing the overseas version. You will be the first to know as soon as we have a final release date.

P.S.
We are planning to release La-Mulana’s original sound track. It takes long time to make bonus track the same quality as the music used in the game, so we had a questionnaire before determining the release date. We incorporated not only Japanese users’ opinions but also a lot of overseas users opinions. Lastly, we may have some bonus content for those of you who have waited so patiently for the game’s release.

Thank you so much for the support to NIGORO and Nicalis.
Source: http://la-mulana.com/en/blog/regarding-la-mulana-in-north-american-and-europe.html

I'm hoping that the "may" in the last sentence becomes a "will" at some point considering those in Japan (and those few lucky people with a Japanese Wii) probably finished this game already before we even get a chance to play this.

Posted on: September 16, 2011, 10:57:47 PM
NIGORO recently unveiled some details of the upcoming DLCs for La-Mulana on WiiWare, one of them La-Mulana's Hell Temple and a Time Attack mode.

For those that haven't already of beaten the original PC game, the Hell Temple is an extra and very difficult area that becomes available after clearing the game. This was something that fans requested to see in the WiiWare version.

The Time Attack was actually based after a mod to the original game. In this version, you can chose which equipment to use. So if you want to go in with over-powered weapons or with the minimal stuff, you can do that if you like. There's no sort of leaderboards to this feature however, but this is something that they're not capable to bring on their first venture into the Wii market.

I hope they do release this as part of their compensation for having everyone in North America and Europe wait, but I doubt it...

Posted on: October 22, 2011, 10:16:53 PM
Yup...  :\ Good news that the game MAY have hope in Q1 2012. Plus, there's the possibility of a PC (and other console) release.
