Off The Wall / Re: How was everyones christmas this year?
« on: December 29, 2012, 04:47:54 AM »
My Christmas was kinda boring compared to last year's with all this "fixing the house I'm moving to" business, but it wasn't too bad. So things I got this year...

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND (Xbox 360)

2 Angry Birds T-shirts

Also on the 28th, the DLC episodes will (probably?) have a half price cut, from 400 MSP each, down to 200 MSP each, which is a great time to add this whole set of Walking Dead episodes to your collection. :cookie:
Too bad I won't have any money to buy them all after getting Scott Pilgrim and Hell Yeah!... :(

The game screen is really busy with all those enemies and effects. It's hard to see what's going on, and in no way a good thing.
Wasn't Guardian Heroes like this too (which Battle Grounds is becoming more and more like but with 4P co-op instead of 2)?

Looks like I have to get another 1600 MSP card since I'm 600 short. :(

No, Episode 1 (and the other four) is normally sold at 400 MSP / $5.

I gotta take some (crappy) pictures of my Christmass swag when I get the chance. (Spoiler Alert: No ZOE HD Collection for my Xbox 360... yet) And is me, or does Lego's new Chima line screams "inspired by Thundercats (2011)!"? Looks cool though.

I had some delicous meatloaf, then I used a spinach wrap and hummus to turn the last bit of meatloaf into a delicous burrito. Once my stomach makes room for desserts, I'm gonna have me some cheesecake I helped making! :W

A sandwich wrap made myself as we speak, with roast red pepper hummus inside it and a kick of crushed red peppers.

Mmm-Mmmm, spicy! :W

Yeah, even Scott Pilgrim's Achievements/Trophies so far borders on this, although some can be earn pretty much effortlessly through game-breaking. I just got the Starmie Achievement by maxing out Scott on the VERY FIRST level and plow the rest of the way through.
And before I get asked by "Starmie Achievement?", look at what the image for "One Man Army" Achievement looks like.

-EDIT-
Should I get the first Ace Attorney game on WiiWare? I got $11 in points left and I've wanting to get into the series for a long while now.

As of today, consider Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Hell Yeah! in my list of downloadable game! Though I'm gonna be ticked if NiGHTS shows up on sale during Xbox LIVE's countdown to the apocalypse.

Problem is I found one laying around the house and it did not want to work with my Wii. When I inserted it to the system, I got an error message saying "Not compatible" or something with the system.

Dammit, why must the Wii have crappy strorage capacity?! o//////o Just when fixed one issue with it (concerning the batteries for the remote), now I got another one! Please tell there's a good SD card for this thing that will work; I had to delete Mega Man 10 in order to make room for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Rondo of Blood for La-Mulana, I hate to delete Super Mario RPG or Sin & Punishment or Star Fox 64 later...

Playing NiGHTS Into Dreams... on PC.
Yeah, it's released.
I'm so horrible at this, I couldn't even unlock the last dream and now I need to do better. FFFF...
Yea, ever since it came to XBLA and PSN, I'm itching to get this. Like right now. Why must the choices of my Xbox shopping has to be hard for me? :'(

@Sakura: My exposure to video games was also because of my (older) brother. ^^ Although my case it was with his PS1. Mega Man X4 (yes, go ahead and laugh at this point), Final Fantasy VII (laugh here too if you want), Parasite Eve (and to this day, I still like the first one over FF7, not that I hate it either), Crash Bandicoot (though I only watched it; never played any of the games before), Breath of Fire III (also a personal fav), RayStorm (although only from the demo that came with some PS1s, but nonetheless the first and memorable exposure to a shooter), Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories (most for the music, I suck at that game and getting Star Chips for stronger cards were a big "screw you" for me) and some others I might of forgotten since I feel like a dinosuar in my early 20s.

Also, you do know that Tales of Vesperia got an updated version on PS3 (which I'm still pissed that Namco don't even put the extra content on DLC at least for the 360 version) and PS3s are region-free for games right? (No offense.)

@Tron: Will do with NiGHTS! Once I can pony up some extra cash or it goes on sale on XBLA or Steam. I really want get it for PC though because of my twin brother's PC has an 1080p HDTV (1920×1080 resolution) for the monitor and I have a sucky SDTV...

Now I gotta see how I can get the first Legacy of Kain... o~O

If I'm not mistaken, Darksiders isn't a bad game Western-made game too (especially if you like Legend of Zelda-styled adventure games), but I've played a little bit of the first game and starting on the second on my older brother's PS3 (when he's at work and if I'm not playing my 360).

I guess can get into Legacy of Kain too, if I can find it on PC or emulate it.

If only we could get repairing the new house I'm moving to done sooner, maybe money and getting a job wouldn't be such a pain in the arse. I've doujin games to import, artbooks I want to collect, and hopefully a friggin' PC of my own. I wanna get into more Ace Attorney and a bit of visuals novels too. God knowing how much I've neglectled Katawa Shoujo since I started it.
And by the way DiamondTiaraBros., I'm still gonna be a Jersey-boy.

Sonic All-Star Racing or Okami, Sakura?

Splatterhouse (2012). Okay, somebody should fire whoever writes reviews at IGN(orant) and every hoity-toity critic that gave this unfairly low ratings because game is FAR from terrible and unplayable (and believe me, I've played worse). To summerize my thoughts on this game: Is it perfect? No. Is it terrible? No [tornado fang]ing way.

(click to show/hide)

I've 100% this game already (both the game and Achievements), and starting a new game on Brutal without my skills carried over and I'm and doing pretty good with what I've learned in my Normal mode run and the survival arenas. And by the way, you can unlock all three of the original Splatterhouse games (including the arcade original, not the Turbo Grafx-16 port of the first game) in this remake too. :3

La-Mulana (2012, WiiWare version). After years of set-backs and BS that kept everyone else from playing this game, and I can say I commend everyone at NIGORO for living up to keeping their promise of bringing this remake for all to enjoy. The 32-bit visuals beautiful, the music is amazing, and the game is quite the challenge. I'd pony up the extra cash to get this game on PC so I can play this game in 1080p on my brother's PC. I still haven't beaten the original, but there are differences between the original and remake. I think I'm passed the half-way point of the game (I've slain about 6 of the guardians) though I'm a bit lost...

Beat Hazard (XBLIG). Finally the problem that screwed up the firewall in my house, which in turn stopped me from streaming media from the PCs in my house, has been dealt with and now I can rave my brains out again. Now I can rave to Double Dragon Neon's OST, Superpony Beat's MLP:FiM remixes, and recently renard's music from DASH-DA-DASH DX (I gotta see if he's got other [legitimately] free music too). Speaking of DASH-DA-DASH DX, it's a freeware survival shoot 'em up game where you must (obviously) dash way from bullet patterns and outlast the boss' attacks. It's a neat little game, I must say, and the XBLIG graphic setting is kinda trippy.

Other games I've been playing on PC was basically me messing around with Xpadder with my corded 360 controller so I don't have to use the keyboard all the time. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna start cracking cases in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

Good thing I got back a bit of money from Xbox LIVE Rewards with the rebate to set to me at 800 (though I'm tempted to get Virtual-On: Operation Moongate if it's 400 MSP). :3

Now if only the fighting game would get here sooner... Seriously, WTF's keeping 7sixty from bringing this region cock-blocked game here already? People are already getting mad about their pre-orders getting canceled... :\

I hate to sound like a noob, but should I get the first AA game on WiiWare since I got $11 in points? I want to see what I've been missing out. '>.>

And man I'm liking the Professor Layton versions of Phoenix and Maya.

Happy birthday, Rock! Through the ups and down, we will always remember you fondly...

Also there's a sale for going on for MM1-6 on 3DS/DSi along with MM9 and MM10 for WiiWare. Too bad I don't have a 3DS and I got MM9 and MM10 years ago... :'(

This was pretty interesting to watch. I personally always just went with the "speed of sound" thing given the little sonic boom effect visible in Unleashed - Generations.

Funny how I watched the
Vsauce3 one
about a week ago. And FINALLY I'm not the only one that think Robotnik's (even Tails from Sonic '06) running speed is retarded compared Sonic. Just remembering trying to spin-dash to catch him in Sonic 2 on my Genesis was annoying (not even debug mode and Super Sonic can't outrun the portly scientist).

I still have the S&K cartridge and a Genesis 3 (the "new" Genesis model that unfortunately doesn't support the Sega CD), so there's no way I could forget Blue Spheres. :3

I've been skimming some of older posts here, and I gotta ask: would anyone be surprised if The Dark Brotherhood made a return? If not, well then -- Sonic: The Dark Brotherhood, we hardly knew ye...
