The used ugly white DS Lite that I had (the one before I got the sexier colbolt DS Lite a few Christmas ago) hinge broke and I was gentle as a feather with it. That and L and R buttons broke afterwards (and I only made it worse trying to fix it). The previous owner must of treated it like crap... :|

Thing the only it's good for now is maxing Shanoa's glyth stats in Order of Ecclesia if the Up in the D-pad is competent for enough an entire night without it screwing me over at some point and find Dracula bVd at me in the next morning. Pretty sure Dracula was coming onto me too...

Anime & Manga / Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?

One of my Xbox LIVE friends got me into Zone of the Enders: Dolores, i, so I've been watching that while I'm desperately waiting for my WAY overdue Christmas present: a Limited Edition copy of Z.O.E HD Collection my Xbox 360. At least can get into the Z.O.E universe more. Aside from that, I've been trying to watch Magical Pokaan and Smile Precure. I need to get more episodes of Precure since I'm behind on the newer episodes that's been coming out.

Don't know a lot of bronies are throwing a damn fit about the "Twilight Sparkle becoming an alicorn princess" thing, even before the episode aired. I didn't think it was bad considering what she went through, dealing with a lot of "the fate of the world" business and opening herself to other people when she was asocial. She kinda reminds me of Neku from TWEWY...

Let's forget Orange_Juice's Acceleration of SUGURI.

Well, the Senko no Ronde series definitely started the whole concept and it's been out for years (2005 in arcades, 2006 on home console). You can attack with different assortment of weapons that differs from each character, and the bullets trajectory is always locked at the opponent, then once you filled up a special bar, you can evolve your character into a boss-type that can fill the screen with huge amount of bullets to (hopefully, it's not always successful) take over the whole round and win.

I finished the first game, but there's still so much to do in the second one. ^^;
Any time can you can help me get the last three achievements or just have matches for the fun of it with me? Thanks.

God, why do I have to be in such crappy financial problems that get in the way of me buying things that I want and getting a job. This day is for is just one bad news after another for gaming. First Sega decides to be a cock-bagel with Virtual-ON, then it turns out the upcoming Scott Pilgrim DLC is actually $5 not $2 (thanks Nelson), and now Phantom Breaker: Battling Grounds comes out next week and I have no damn money to buy it on XBLA. This SUCKS! Why couldn't my family be made of money like some people in this world...?

Gaming / A Long-awaited Update on Skullgirls for PC is Finally Here!
« on: January 31, 2013, 01:49:56 PM »
I just got word that the team behind Skullgirls got laid off Reverge Labs, the studio they worked to make the game. However, Autumn Games still holds IP and the Skullgirls devs are going by a new company of Lab Zero Games, as the new title screen points out. This was also one of reasons why patch and DLC characters have been through hell.

-EDIT-
The PC version's not coming out until 2013.

-EDIT 2-
From Shoryuken...
Quote
Welcome to Lab Zero Games.

Forward-thinking and retro-minded, Lab Zero Games is an independent game development studio founded by the original team that brought you Skullgirls. Lab Zero intends to continue its critically-acclaimed work on Skullgirls as well as leverage its unique design and artistic sensibilities to develop new games.

As many of our fans know, Skullgirls had more than its fair share of difficulties getting to market, but thus far none have been quite this dire: last June, the entire Skullgirls team was laid off from Reverge Labs.

To try to prevent such calamities from befalling us, our games, or our fans again, the Skullgirls team decided to form its own studio.

Autumn Games, the publisher and owner of the Skullgirls property, is fully behind the new studio and will continue to work with us in the future on all Skullgirls-related endeavors, such as the just-released patch, more merchandise and a few other things we can’t quite announce yet.

…However, we are sad to report that these unfortunate circumstances have delayed the resumption of work on the PC version, and indefinitely delayed the first DLC character. Don’t take this as a sign that we’ve given up – we haven’t, and are doing everything in our power and then some to resume work on these as soon as possible. When we have more news, we’ll be sure to let you know.

So there you have it.

Not being able to tell anyone about these rather significant developments has almost been as bad as being largely unemployed and unable to continue our work on Skullgirls. We have always strived to be as open and transparent as our business and legal obligations will allow, but we feared news of these events would discourage our fans more than our conspicuous silence would. Being able to finally fill everyone in on everything is a huge relief, and we hope you understand our reasons for keeping quiet until now.

Everyone at Lab Zero would like to thank all of our amazing fans for their patience and support through this ordeal and as we (re)start on this new adventure. And even though this change was largely out of our control, the Skullgirls team still sincerely apologizes for the delays and lack of information in recent months.

We’re doing this for you, and we can’t wait to get back to work!

Until then,

Sincerely,
Lab Zero Games

The short version: The team has been raising money for EVO 2013 and breast cancer research, and the PC port of Skullgirls will be handled by Marvelous AQL.

Now when the hell will they update the Xbox 360 version?

Just to be clear: I haven't finished DmC yet, I'm still at the beginning of the game though I'm at Mission 3. So far it's okay, and I can kinda see they're implementing some Ikaruga-ish elements, though switching between the angel and demon weapons is kinda confusing.

-EDIT-
You know what? After gushing about Einhander earlier, I decided to emulate it again (though I'm using the Japanese version). While I'm at it, I'm emulating Threads of Fate (US) and Mega Man Legends 2 (US) on PS1. I got ePSXe to run my games up-scaled to 1080p while in the native 4:3 aspect-ratio (1400x1080) with the right plugin settings, and the games looks glorious. owo

Mischief Makers
When I first played this game my bother borrowed an N64 friend from a friend of his, I never knew about it, but when I played it I was in love. This is one of the games that made me into fan of Trasure's works. The story was something out of an off-the-wall anime and the gameplay embraced (or rather influenced) my love of beating up goons by grabbing one of the goons and throwing the goons into a crowd of goons. It was fun and challenging (except for the sprinting a marathon for a gold gem, that was kind of a pain) and very under-rated for a platformer.

BANZAI PECAN: The Last Hope for the Young Century
Truth be told that I never, in my life, heard of this game until I saw this thing on Desura and I have yet to play the full game (no thanks to finanncial here, ugh) and this game was in development for 4 years, but when I played the one of the earlier demos (which has problems with frame-rate running on brother's souped-up PC for some reason), part of my skepticism struck me as "Hey, this could be the 2D God Hand that we've been fighting for". The basic premise has you, a school girl gifted with the powers of a badass magical girl fighter, to beat up a group of succubi calling themselves the Sexilicous Seven and thier legions of bunny-girls to rescue her boyfriend. To me, this game needs more love; it's sad to see FPS 'tards label it as crap first without so much as even trying it out. I get the feeling some people are starting to hate 2D brawlers now (namely games Kung Fu Master and Splatterhouse where it's flat 2D playing field oppose to Streets of Rage or Scott Pilgrim) just like shoot 'em ups. Sure, the character art looks amateur (and aren't some indie games prune to this?), but since this was a brawler parody, that didn't bother me as much.

The developer is definitely working on making the game better and I'm seeing some improvements in the gameplay with the little videos up on YouTube to show it. Plan on getting at Desura if I get the chance to. I think I've blabbed too much for a game I doubt much people here would care about...

The Ace Attorney/Turnabout Trial series
I was never expecting to have this much fun with a visual novel before, I'm glad I did since I'm trying to broaden my gaming horizons with visual novels and this is a good start for me. It feels great to do the detective work to prove someone right or wrong and seeing the results pay off more than other games I've played lately.

Parasite Eve 1
This was something I was trying out on a whim when I used to have PS2, one of the best decisions I've ever made. The story and gameplay intrigued me more than FF7 and I loved how it was like Resident Evil with an RPG combat system ā la Chrono Trigger (which I've yet to play on VC or DS sadly). The post-end game bonus dungeon is really good, especially since it took place in the Chrysler Building and it felt sorta like a rogue-like. Speaking of rogue-likes...

Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns
I found this game at an F.Y.E. one day for $20 used but it was like brand-new, and for a time I was quite addicted to this game. The story is humorous and the game was difficult for me since I never played a rogue-like before, but that didn't stop me from enjoying story. I really Romantic Fool's artstyle, his way of drawing to me is unique and I liked how he does his coloring. The fact that I got the Amazon pre-order bonus mini-poster was just bonus points for me.

I bought a Classic Controller Pro. The grip seems much better and the button placement too. Let's test this thing with a SNES VC game.
Plus it feels like a PS2 controller. :D

Get Journey! This game is art porn at its finest~ 0v0

Still wish I could some matches with Senko no Ronde with anybody now that I got my gold membership back on Xbox LIVE. There's hardly anyone I knew with this game...

I'm close to wrapping up BlazBlue CS's story mode, just a few characters and side-stories until the True Ending. The "Help Me, Prof. Konone!" segments are hilarious. So far my favorite ones are from Makoto, Noel, Arakune and Jin's.

I'm also kinda speeding my through La-Mulana since I finished a while ago. Definitely worth getting though probably best to get it on PC since it's the "complete" version of the game if you don't spending a little extra; the Hell Temple is not in the WiiWare version yet, hence why it's $5 cheaper than the PC version.

Pretty damn cool. Will get it sometime in my lifetime once once these friggin' money problems concerning the new house's repair is over with. Ugh! This was the reason I never got to play the demo BEFORE it went public... X(

It took me a while to get a good feel of how blade mode works and pull off quick slices. It was like getting the feel of RE4's third-person approach of shooting stuff, but once I got the hang of it, cutting up cyborgs and geckos into hundreds of pieces was nothing short of satisfactory. 8) Took me a little longer to realize it was part of the scoring mechanics though...

Parrying was kind of annoying, especially considering they never teach you this before getting my butt handed while trying to figure out how it works. (Splatterhouse 2010 was also guilty of this.) How it works was like Bayonetta with one of the accesories in that game but you use the □/X in the direction of the attack.

Nice that they add the option of stealth kills, but how am I suppose to outrun a gecko that's faster than me if I'm spotted while trying to take the stealthy approach?

-EDIT-
Also DAT 60/FPS! Looks awesome, even on my sucky SDTV!
