People probably associate the anime with the games, seeing as the anime is much more... Childish, than the games are. That likely accounts for most of those kinds of people.

I was probably about 8-9 when I saw Pokémon hitting the states.

I can't even get this guy to play Super Press Space Bar to Win, which takes all of 04:46:06 minutes to play.

I doubt introducing him to Knightmare II: The Maze of Galious is gonna help, much less La-Mulana and their remakes.

He thinks that grown men shouldn't be so attracted to a kid's show/game as they are.  I explained to him that Pokemon is different, as most of its adult fans grew up with the games.  But, whatever, to each their own.

He's missing out on a lot of fun.  I can't even get him to play any retro games.  He's too content with Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and TOR.

LOL, his loss.

So, I'm trying to convince a friend that Pokemon is nothing like MLP.  He thinks that adult fans who enjoy the games are creepy, like Bronies are creepy.

I'm getting so sick hearing that. Yea, there are some creepy people in the MLP:FiM fandom -- especially went it comes the fanfic Cupcakes -- but is it really [tornado fang]ing necessary to outright label every single fan of MLP as some kind of demented weirdo? My recent post in the MLP thread shows there are respectable (and sane) people in the fandom; they we're just a bunch of guys who wanted to make a game where the MLP characters beat the tar out of each other for fun.

I'm creepy!

Poker Night 2

Wish I could play this and Poker Night 1...

I think I have like 5 steam games, a couple were given as a gift :/

Pretty much the same with me; only 7 of my Steam games I actually bought (Beat Hazard + Ultra DLC, Borderlands 1: Game of the Year Edition, Recettear and Chantelise, Breath of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves the World, and Cave Story+), the other games I got from a friend as a gift (Terraria and the games from Indie Royale's Summer Bundle of 2012) or got completely for free (Portal 1 and Metro 2033). And for some reason my brother has Cry of Fear on Steam. Not sure how he was able to convince my family to fork over money to buy it when that money could have been used to get my VERY belated limited edition copy of Z.O.E HD Collection, or better yet, use that money make this damn depressing house repair crap I'm going through that's stopping me from the things I want to buy cheap go by quicker, but eh. Time to ruin my chances of sleeping for a week! *begins Cry of Fear*

Never mind about what I said earlier about Cry of Fear. Apparently it's officially free-to-play on Steam.

Should we be blunt with the ones that come here and say "Hey, we're making a Mega Man fangame!" and never say a word for a year or so? (I can see myself saying "Well [parasitic bomb], another person just advertising crap that's never gonna see the light of day...") I can get creating a decent game, fangame, fan re/demake is no easy feat (Streets of Rage Remake took Bomber Games about 8 years to finish only for Sega to give them the ban hammer but not without spread to keep the game circulating), but if you want people interested in whatever it is you're making, you better give the people something to keep their attention unless everything goes busto. MMX Corrupted better be worth all this time in development.
