News and Announcements / Re: Rockman Zero Collection Trailer
« on: January 18, 2010, 08:20:37 PM »
Theres really no break between the two bossrooms except for a small corridor.

I distinctly recall having the ability to backtrack after the first room, with many health items nearby to refill my sub tanks.

And the second loophole is Vile.  He is an old-model Reploid and thus, unlike all of Sigma's other henchmen, completely vulnerable to infection.  And his fate in X8 was not confirmed.

I'll say it again, there's no reason for Sigma to require anybody to infect. Sigma never had much problems going around as a disembodied virus, even in space. He should still have a regular Reploid body and a large final form lying around.

Thus my belief, that it is being utilized in Belial Sigma's body.

That and I'm not exactly willing to take Lumine's activities as face value, what with him crushing his respected father's corpse without motive and having weirdness sprout from his own.

It's gonna be Zero series 8 Year Anniversary~!

Since when did every year become an anniversary to celebrate? Wait two years and we'd be at 10.

Ah, I think the remixed OSTs must have confused me then (since they had speaking tracks). Tongue

Can I get a facepalm image?

If you ask me, that screenshot looks like it could be from the prerelease ZERO1... Not from the finalized game, nor the DS collection. If that's actually from the collection, I really have to question how much they're changing...

`Nebula Black exists outside the time and is not a physical being.`
`Nebula Black doesnt hold any feelings. But it does think.`
`Nebula Black is the Pure Energy.`
`Nebula Black is the one that seeks balance.`
`Nebula Black is always with righteous one.`
`What is right and what is wrong can not be decided by physical beings.`
`The only one who knows the rules is the one who existed before them.`
`Nebula Black's power is beyond the limits of the Universe thus can not be destroyed.`

So, I am basicly a flying-indestructable-hard-disk.

42?

And Mxues is looking kinda huge, don't you think?

This many years later, I'm still trying to understand that line.

Was Omega thinking he was going to conquer the world and whatnot, or was he mocking Zero?

Suzuki (Character Designer): Up till now, we've been answering the questions, but now we have one for the sound team. What you tell us about the speech of Omega's third form?

Yamada (Sound Director): It's "Ware wa messhia nari!" ["I am the messiah!"] It certainly sounds like that "I am God" kind of speech, something a terrorist or anarchist or someone like that would say, doesn't it? I think that's the kind of impression we we're trying to give. It's not the speech by itself alone that holds significance, however, if you could express Omega's brutality and ferocity and everything into one line, that's what it would be, right! By the way, what's the creation story behind the personality of Omega form three?

Yabe (Background Designer): Omega form 3's personality program (cyber-elf), was programmed by Vile to be his messiah. Though, as to Omega form 3's...Original Zero's personality being completely Vile-made, I couldn't say that.

Ito (Series Director): I can't deny the possibility that the original personality that "a certain doctor who tried to take over the world innumerable times" created for Zero was remaining in the body, and that side of the personality having won over.

Yabe: I guess we're entrusting everyone to use their imagination (he laughs).

I hope it's just as good as the Japanese version, since the US version of the GBA games weren't.

What are you talking about? The removal of a silly little blood splatter effect suddenly makes the games less good?

Completely disagreed with the above three posters, these bosses look much better in sprite form than they do in the art.

Thing is, because he did not bring any backups, we must assess why he did not. Surely he thought it pointless, like he considered his victory assured, just as much as he knew his death was certain when that was proven false.

The question is, why wouldn't he take them with him? Just as much as X8 begs the question: Where is the huge Sigma final form?

But my point was there weren't any other reploids for him to possess.

How about his own body? The guy has endless back up bodies. Played X3 lately?

ARGH! STOP THIS!

In X4, his virus form fell to Earth because of Earth's gravitational influence.
In X8, the moon's gravity kept him trapped there. He couldn't return to Earth because of that. And no one went to the moon (that I know of) afterwards, so his influence was nil; no one to infect.

*Ahum*
Sigma can just occupy another body and go back as Reploid.

Quote
Your reasoning is that he focused all of his viral self into one body and was unable to replicate? Is this statement correct?

No real reasoning, just observing that Sigma did not have a second form, and knew his demise was final.

If you want reasoning, you can compare it with RockmanX5. But that's only beginning to touch the surface, as Lumine cannot be forgotten.

None of that, since that's forgetting the obvious: Sigma can just occupy another body and go back as Reploid, he does not have to cover that distance as a virus.

You know, there's a big problem with that stage select screen... Under NES limitations, the whole screen can have no more than 16 colors. This has 31. Furthermore, if you would for a second stop to think about how many sprites each mugshot would be made from, mugshots such as Rock's seem to be going overboard.

You might want to redo the bottom left one, without relying too much on my obviously rushed example.

WUT IS THIS ALL MADNUSS ABOUD!

How does this even work? Do the trucks move or not? Can you just walk by them or only in between? Will they fall down the gaps in the road? Will the two going in opposite directions eventually collide?

The problem is that it's completely out of style, neither the red nor the yellow should have a second shade.

The fact that Capcom has spies in the fan community should be well known since the dawn of the internet.

Nitro Man "Trinitro Man"

Nitroglycerin and Trinitrotoluene (TNT) are completely different compounds. Nitroglycerine is an unstable liquid, trinitrotoluene is a solid and a secondary explosive. People are also often under the mistaken impression that Dynamite is TNT, whereas it's in fact Nitroglycerin.

Does it exceed the 8-bit colors on a sprite?

Of course it exceeds NES limitations, just one glance should be enough to tell you.
