No movies of the sequels? Shame on you Vixy.

Also, I strongly advise people to try Commander Keen 4 for DOS freeware.

That's AX's power. As Model X can become AX, it has that extra trans on ability. Besides, any chosen one can potentially use any livemetal.

You're using gameplay mechanics over story mechanics, in which a Double Rock On is stronger than EITHER of the two Biometals alone.

Nonononono, I'm not.

I'm counting the doubles as part of Model X's power just as much as I'm counting the Trans On forms as part of Model A's power.

Discounting those transformations, it is only natural that you get Model AX > Model X > Model A > Trans On X from a single form perspective.

But from a multi form perspective.

Model X has the most potential power as it can bring out the full potential of all livemetals, including AX. AX can copy all singulars at their regular power. A can copy doubles and singulars at less power. A can copy X, which can double Rock On, but that results in exactly the same as A copying a double in the first place. And you know Model A is stronger than any of its Trans forms by definition.

Therefore Model X > Model AX > Model A > Trans Model X

Just look at the forms each has at their theoretical disposal:
Model X: full potential ZX, HX, LX, PX, FX, VX, OX, AX.  Regular Z, H, L, P, F, V, O, bosses.
Model AX: regular Z, H, L, P, F, V, O, bosses.
Model A: weakened Z, H, L, P, F, V, O, X. Weakened ZX, HX, LX, PX, FX, VX, OX.
Weakened X: Weakened ZX, HX, LX, PX, FX, VX, OX.

Actually, I take that back, Model X has the most variety. It can literally become anything that A can also be, but at greater power.

From a game balance perspective, I can almost imagine AX actually lacking a trans on in favor of stronger homing and giga attack. But, just as easily I can expect a Trans On X form to lack the double Rock On. Simplifying the list to:

Model X: full potential ZX, HX, LX, PX, FX, VX, OX, AX.
Model A: weakened Z, H, L, P, F, V, O, X. Weakened ZX, HX, LX, PX, FX, VX, OX. bosses.

Of course, the main conclusion doesn't change. Once you have the Model A as Rockman Model X, you're pretty much the ultimate Rockman to begin with. AX's possible lack of Trans and the possible inability to use the other singulars are just a couple of points that change how exactly you can use this power.

Then .... shouldn't Zero be behind them?

Shielding requires them to actively move, their location is irrelevant. You just shouldn't have blinked during the white out!

Yes, I'm well aware they don't actually do anything.

This is exactly why people don't play MM for it's story.

Well, they didn't intend for you to have you buy MMZOCW in order to know that. That just kinda happened as a result of the series' conclusion writing them into a corner.

For your own amusement, here's the quote from MMZOCW:

Why were the Four Guardians excluded from Zero 4?

AIZU: A lot of people ask that question, but the reason is simply because they all died at the end of Zero 3, shielding Zero from the big explosion.
HONDA: But for some reason they still show up in the booklet for the soundtrack.
AIZU: That was just Nakayama being generous with his drawings. (laughs) In the booklet of the fourth Zero soundtrack, there is an illustration of X standing on a tower with beams coming from the Four Guardians... I didn't ask Nakayama to draw it, though. He kind of already had it drawn. (laughs) Tell us, Nakayama! What point in the timeline is that image from?
NAKAYAMA: I'm not sure... when could it be?
AIZU: The timeframe and events of the illustration were a little fuzzy, so we just kind of threw it in there. (laughs)

Maybe the implication is that X saved him?  Or brought him back?  It'd have been nice if they could have shown that ... what with games being a visual medium and all.

The final implication is that the fan-favorite X-bioroids shielded him from the blast.

It seems like they wanted to leave it up in the air and see how they felt about it at a later time.

Well, the did want to leave it up in the air. Resulting in them being hinted as dying in TELOS, guessed to be protecting humans elsewhere during ZERO4, watching Ragnarok's decline in Vile's Incident and ultimately being dead as of RZOCW.

Quote
But it makes things ambiguous unless you look it up in a wiki.

It makes it ambiguous until you buy MMZOCW. Cause you know about wiki and reliability.

Quote
like this is bullshit. *CLUSH Bombed* you give noobs way too much credit.

No, I'm serious, random n00bs did proclaim they died in ZERO3 by Omega's explosion, which we all shot down using our interview and sourcebook info.

Quote
i've always thought Zero4's story would've been better if it was an interquel.

How does that even work when all of ZERO4 is based on it being the end?

Vile is in charge of Neo Arcadia. Pantheons got replaced. Humans are fleeing from Neo Arcadia. The Big4 and are nowhere to be seen. Neo Arcadia is destroyed, Weil and Zero are killed. The war is over. Humans and Repliroids start to coexist again.

If you mean better as in 'completely different' I'm inclined to disagree even more.

You people are seriously crazy for thinking ZERO4 wasn't great, epic and fun. It just stands in the shadow of its predecessor and had to seriously try to be different.

Quote
I shouldn't need to look at either of those to know just what the hell happened to Harpuia, Leviathan, and Fefnir. Seriously, I played the game twice and I can't recall one mention of why those three just up and disappeared in-game.

They vanished after the blinding flash of light that knocked Zero out cold. What did you think happened?

Man, even the most random of n00bs concluded from the games alone that they died in ZERO3. It's only additional sources that confuse the matter, not the game.

Quote
From what I understand, Z3 was supposed to be the last game or some crap, which is completely terrible because yeah, sure, big battle, Zero killed Omega in his old body woohoo.. Oh wait, what about Weil? Yeah, completely leave him unchecked. Sorry, just doesn't do it for me.

Weren't you complaining about ZERO4? This is exactly why 4 was made.

But no, ZERO3 was not the intended last game, it was the intended climax. It's just that they wanted to make Zero1.5 before ZERO4, but decided otherwise by fan demand to see Vile taken care of.

Quote
Then there's the whole Kraft/Neige thing. I despised that bit of the story from the beginning because of how hastily done it was. It didn't fit in just one game. It felt like "Oh, we don't have anything else going on, here lets throw this in".

If you ever read Vile's Incident, you'd know how well the setting of ZERO4 was thought out instead of thrown in just like that.

Zero / Re: A interesting question...regarding Copy X.
« on: April 27, 2009, 05:21:57 PM »
so? its still Copy X. its not another copy X, its the same one, revived. the same way that Vile in X3 is Vile Mk ll, and in X8, Mk lll.

VAVA V

Pente, 5. It is the fifth form of VAVA.

a bug in his vocal systems

The stutter is only in the English version. In Japanese, he´s the same between ZERO1 and ZERO3. His voice was always a bit weird compared to X´s which ZERO3´s translation just emphasized using the stutter.

Quote
Mk ll is simply to identify he is the revived copy X

It is to identify he's more powerful now. After all Blizzack Staggrof R, Hanumachine R, emphasizes revival by Vile. Anubis Necromancess V works differently as each revival tacks on a higher number. Anubis Necromancess III and Anubis Necromancess IV got beaten in ZERO3. Anubis Necromancess I died during Operation Scorched Earth, but revived itself. II was killed right away when a transport crashed into him. Poor guy. >.>

The statue wasn't filler. It was properly there in Ch2. Ed uses it to almost kill Cornello.

What you saw in episode 3 with the statue was filler. He transmuted a single hand from the statue downstairs to smash Cornello. In the manga, he turns Cornello's entire office into a huge statue of Leto and actually smashes Cornello with it. Big difference, and kinda kills the moment where it became a tourist attraction and Hohenheim remarked on that alchemist having bad taste.

Could very well be the ultimate biometal combination.  Plus It would allow Model Ax to Copy Model H and create Model HAX.

It'd still be just Model H. Only difference would be that the Trans On form isn't weakened compared to the original.

Model A + DNA = weaker copy.

ModelX + Model A = Stronger version of A (Model AX)
Model AX + DNA = equally powerful copy.

Model AX could never obtain the DNA of any double megamerge. As such, it's only barely more powerful than A.

Model X is superior in power to Model A and AX, but has less variety than both.

Copying Model X using A would also result in a loss of power, which is weaker than both A and AX. Model AX could never copy X.

Power:
Model X > Model AX > Model A > Trans Model X

Variety:
Model A >/= Model AX > Model X = Trans Model X.

Ain't theoretical models fun?

It doesn't matter. Zero got a makeover.

It matters. From X to ZERO designs, arm mounted busters remain arm mounted busters. Zero's bustergun on the other hand is Milan's. Milan's bustergun is an older model than what the rest of the Resistance carries, said older model is designed to link with a Rock Buster mk17 enhanced beamsaber. Omega uses said older model bustergun and also uses a beamsaber enhanced with X-buster technology.

It should also be noted that Zero himself wielded a bustergun during Elf Wars too. Firstly because of his body has apparent memory of using one in the first game. Secondly because, even though he trashed his X2 buster in X5 and his X3 buster hasn't been seen since X6, he succeeded in doing final strike against Omega. With the way the final strike was presented, a beamsaber was not used and his attack was simultaneous with X's.

The first scene with the golems mowing down the Resistance reploids. But that's in the "censored" American version.

It's the same in the Japanese game. The resistance soldiers there have additional blood as part of their sprite. The bigger blood spatter which you see all across the game was censored out, but the blood in the soldier's sprites was not. So, even though they still bled in the English game, they still bled a lot less.

I think the only time they took some extra effort to censor the sprites was during Hanumachine's infiltration/Resistance base massacre.

The girl at the bottom is different between Japanese (left) and English (right) versions. Honestly I think the censored one is freakier, what with the weird transparent eye pixels....

Ahahaha... ah... Mind if I ask why it is you put so much faith into the possibility of everything being written down/thought out somewhere? If it was, there wouldn't be discussions like this one going on.

You're the only one thinking in such black and whites as "everything" preplanned or improvised.

As I have emphasized more than enough in this thread, gaming is a format that lacks certain luxuries, they can not plan it all ahead of time. But regardless of that, there are always ideas of what they want to do and where they want to go floating about. How much is written down and how much is just in the mind's of the writer is unknown and largely irrelevant. Just as much, the relative amount of preplanning or improvisation is irrelevant also.

Kitabayashi had an idea, he proposed it and they agreed as a team to work on it. If any on the team cared about continuity with the Wily storyline, it would have been taken into account when the setting was being made, plain and simple. If they cared or if nobody cared, you can only conclusive note that they did or didn't once the end of the storyline is reached.

If it's completely preplanned, the Wily X7+ connection wholly depends on what that plan is. If it's completely improvised, all the better as they can just decide to make the connection whenever they please. The truth is in the middle, not in either of these black and whites.

Leave it to Zan to make a wall of text.

Biometals don't work that way, Model A needs the A-Trans data of the model used first (IE: ZX) for an emulaited double megamerge, I don't think Biometal Model A doesn't double megamerge with others, at all.

Model AX is entirely possible.

Also,

See a difference?
