X / Re: X4 is really overrated
« on: September 03, 2012, 01:30:56 AM »
I [tornado fang]ing hated X3's armored double charged buster

Its so delayed and one of the shots is so wimpy and weak.

This. One Thousand Times This. I hate having to let it go on the third charge just so I can hit Kaiser Sigma's head. And what's even dumber is removing the password system that records the placement in the fortresses. I liked that in X2 and saves me a helluva time fighting the same [parasitic bomb] again, it's why I hate X3's difficulty curve. Some bosses are cake yet others are outright difficult, the hell?

His passport will expire the day when the Twin Towers come crashing down by a terrorist plot. Other than that it's best not to look too hard into it.

It's an Eastern Toe-biter.  A giant water bug.

I know, but I was using the Cicada as an example insect since although annoying with it's buzzing, but it's harmless and it would be more afraid of someone than they are of it.

Except that's not Shiki.

Hmm, that must mean that cat must be a part of a popular toy brand in-universe, which kinda threw me off since Shiki carries the doll around. She's also wearing headphones, probably to drown out the noise as Neku did. This could be a new protag which carries both traits of Neku and Shiki..

Though Shiki Mode would be nice, as it would show the events from another viewpoint.

X / Re: Vile/VAVA: Anti Hero or Villain?
« on: August 30, 2012, 07:49:25 PM »
He's more of a classic "rival" archetype in a sense. All Vile wanted to do ever was prove that he was better than X (this is shown as Vile taunts him numerous games mocking his limitless potential). Though, he does show up in every few games (resuming his role as Intro Boss in Xtreme 1), so not much is known about him and how did the programming error manage to slip through without one's notice, as a certain red reploid stole most of the spotlight and we would've gotten intresting character development from both ends if Vile Mode came sooner.

So RPM is resistant to guro horror yet some of the residents would FREAK OUT at the sight at a harmless Cicada, which would make a tasty meal. Nice..

However, I would like to know how many people here actually have insectophobia?

"Megaman heroes 1992", by lost-royo. Note that Woodman's design comes directly out of the MM2 manual.

Not only that, but Cutman and Bombman look different as well.

The biggest contender for sequelitis is not actually mega man, but Super Mario, and to an extent, Sonic the Hedgehog and other series just as large (five cartoon series, wow! Not even Mega Man can compete against that!). Think about it with all of their spinoffs, yet nobody really complains. I remember the '06-'08 "Too much Mega Man" thing, which is really ironic imo.

It's not a comma (,) but more of an apostrophe ('). If it were the phrase would be "I'm lovin, it." which would be a mistake on the company's part.

The guy who made this obviously forgot to proofread before posting it, otherwise he would've removed the comma to even it out. No need to make a fuss out of it.

Well, no real loss anyway, since I bought the origional game awhile back (and cleared an ending). Also, no need to panic as the countdown clock isin't really over.

And besides, I can't really afford an iOS phone right now. I'm stuck with a virizon-branded phone that keeps me from playing those games.

While energy farming in Wheel Gator's stage, it went from day to night in the background. Nice touch. Also, I beat X2 with Sonic Slicer as Sigma Form 1's weakness.

I was thinking if we could have a contest in which we can name all 54 presidents in one go, probably to spice things up.

Rockman Series / Re: Possible changes for the franchise?
« on: August 22, 2012, 11:11:44 PM »
Sometimes, it just takes sweet irony to get the job done. During Unleashed's development, all they did was simply look back towards Secret Rings, borrowed some of it's gameplay elements, and threw in Sonic's now-signature boost from the Rush games to add extra flavor for the daytime stages. This in the end came Colors, which in turn continued towards Generations, which further improved Modern Sonic's gameplay mechanic, which was heavily borrowed from Unleashed.

If Sonic can do that then Mega Man can do the same. We have Rush Marine, yes? We could have Classic Mega branch off into a shoot 'em up based on that engine while X can bridge the gap to the Zero series with the Command Mission RPGs, completing the circle.

Rockman Series / Re: Possible changes for the franchise?

Actually going back to 8-Bit for classic Mega Man did work because it was cheap. Cheap and classic. They just cannot do that again right now, nor should it be a reboot. Reboots can rub people the wrong way. Look no further than the movies for examples of why it can.

That is indeed true, same goes for prequels.. oy.

I also want to add that while Command Mission was GOOD, it could've been polished up a bit more. Like, sort of a sub-series of a sub-series (weird huh?). Maybe that way we can kill two birds in one stone, as cleaning up some of the plotholes made by past games in the meanwhile giving the X series a fresh new look. It's basically Sonic and the Secret Rings. (It's weird. When I played Sonic Colors for the first time, I felt like they perfected the Storybook Engine, which Secret Rings was it's starting gun. In a sense, Secret Rings SAVED Sonic because of the gameplay.)

Look at it this way: he's basically vindicating whining as a legitimate form of democratic discourse. Meaning that even though whining looks terrible, it works. Sonic fans had the right idea, and they got Generations for all their trouble, even if it did unleash a bunch of crazies in the midst of it all.

Sonic also has that CARRAZZEY Sonic CD iOS port that was aided by a fan (and dominates the MMX port). Maybe if Capcom got the "don't fix what ain't broke" and "bigger the stuff, bigger the money" gig out of their heads, then there's a possible chance that oh, I don't know, if the fans started doing the same thing of instead of consistant bitching and whining, and think over it. A "what can we do to fix this?" scenario.

Such as:

Showing Capcom we care by putting more effort into our fanwork, I actually have noticed quite a drop of activity in that department there for quite some time now.. As what comes around, goes around. When was the last time we put helluva much effort into something..? Legends 3? MMX: Corrupted? Get Me Off The Moon? The Megas?

Yeah, basically what I'm going here is that there's a good chance that the product will get BETTER if we actually SHOW we care, not just yell at them.

Yeah. And most of the graphics in the fangames aren't the same old genesis style sprites, heard of the Modern Genesis Project for that matter?

Yeah, I have yet to see an ambitious spriting rockman project like that. Though after seeing Xover makes me wanna do it.
