Rockman Series / Re: [News] No New Game for 25th Anniversary (Probably)
« on: September 16, 2012, 02:15:37 AM »
Yeah, King was a just a nice change of pace from the usual foe Mega Man gets to fight. I mean, he does want to take over the damn world, yet he acts like he already owns it and wants to expand his horizon to the universe. What other Mega Man baddie does that?

I can understand why most people did not like Star Force as the rest of the fans felt it was sort of held back compared to ZXA.. but I felt that the Mega Man battle network and Star Force series had more personality at the same time when you compare Mr. Match to someone like Axl from the main Classic-X-Zero timeline, though most people did not like StarForce and BattleNetwork as it strayed from the traditional run and shoot formula (this can also be the case for the Legends series as well, despite it having a much more colorful cast of characters and it only took like what, the Mega Man cartoon to give a shred of personality to the bosses?).

though the fact that I can change Geo's name anytime I want was hilarious.

For the fact that you can name him anything gives benefit to the current customization feature, though I actually did pity Geo for the [parasitic bomb] he went through. I'd be pretty pissed too if I lost my dad to E.T. and a bunch of my "friends" are more like dicks than anything.. wait..

Does that make it Shooting Star Spider-Man now? (come to think of it, SEVERAL of Marvel's newer works seems to have a Mega Man/general japanese cultural influence these days..)

Honestly though, I know where Metal_Man comes from now, and my point that Capcom NEEDS to change it's business strategy WITHOUT the aid of nostalgia goggles for this series still stands.

If they are his step-children then that would mean that their real dad is possibly some one named Morton Koopa Sr. since one of them is Morton Koopa Jr.

Yeah, I've been thinking about it for awhile, since we DO have a Bowser Jr. which is Bowser's direct son.

Well, there's Bowletta if you wanna count that.

Oy vey.. We could also go with the fan interpretations of females within Bowser's species, though I might have seen one too many. @_@

Well Myamoto.. With that you just basically screwed yourself over. score one for the fans, as the koopalings being direct children from a previous marrage and whatnot have already become somewhat Mario lore and a wee late to correct that.

Though the Mario Bros.' last name does raise questions as we already have our own theories as to why peach keeps getting kidnapped by bowser by the week. If their last names aren't "Mario".. So I guess it's the name of their business?

I sincerely hope that if they do port it from the iOS version, they don't do a half-ass job of it.

I'm talking to you, Super Meat BoyNot everyone has an Xbox Controller.

The iOS worked since the original game had a touch screen function, which most likely helped the transition from the eShop to the iOS quickly.

However, because of it being a PC Port, they might have to pull a Sega on this one. I remember the Sonic & Knuckles Collection port, since that one had the traditional "window view" play mode, which could work for Risky's Revenge.

And they might have to make changes to the pause menu (re-assinging the item menu as the pause menu, etc.) since I'm not sure how they'll transfer the touch-screen commands, most likely via tablet. Then again, the game is rather fast-paced, which could be a problem.

My guess for that teleporter is that where they would be keeping Zero/Fake Zero and the robot managed to escape via teleporter. Then again, I don't know but it was a nice touch in Xtreme 2.

Though, if Xtreme 3 DID happen.. Think of the wild ride with an 18-boss attack mode from all three SNES games!

Finding new friends isn't exactly something people just go out and do. Usually it happens at work or school or someplace where you just connect with someone. I mean, my closest friends I've known since high school. They're like my family. I cannot say the same about friends I've picked up along the way at work or college or anything like that.

Pretty much, but we all have to deal with that kind of group you don't want to be a part of every now and then, I just ignore their presence, basically. I'm not really the kind of guy that takes "do unto others as they do to you" bible verse too litterally, as that can cause problems in the long run.

Gaming / Re: J.J. Rockets, a creation by the "father" of Rockman
« on: September 12, 2012, 10:29:24 PM »
Again, it's mostly due to mobile phones being somewhat more accessable than a 3DS or DS device and more commonplace, it's also because sometimes if one is to be on break during work hours, they'll have something to do on their phone, if they don't get addicted of course.

However, most of the games are crappy bootlegs stateside, which is why mostly mobile games get a bad rep. Then there's also the potential of getting drowned in by better games in the 3DS eShop, and some console games in the west are "trying to be hollywood", which in my opinion shouldn't.

A well-timed satire of both the fatal fury and mega man series, I can say it's one way for Obama (unless he went the other route and followed Mike Haggar's path and went for a fictional one) to kick some ass.

Original / Re: Rock-Research - From R1 to R&F **WARNING: Long Read**
« on: September 12, 2012, 12:18:00 AM »
Yeah, nice read.

Also, i always assumed Leaf Shield affects Airman so much because it, y'know, jams his fan.

Also, Metal Man was weak to himself because he had a [acid burst]-poor defense module, and with a weapon that can litterally slice through the toughest metal, that's insult to injury. Plus metal irl has had a history being able to cut through metal (how else would a sword peirce through a car's hull?)

In a sense, Metal Man was a rushjob.

'Bound to happen, especially if they got that live-action film and (if I'm correct) merchandisin' is gaining momentum. Didin't stop Rockman for getting an OVA AND an anime based on the EXE series. But if you really want to stretch money-making machines, you got Street Fighter. Even THEN the Viewtiful Joe TV series came right the [tornado fang] out of nowhere too. Oh, and Darkstalkers had that little cartoon back at the same time as the Street Fighter american cartoon.

America hates cleavage.
They did it with the JSR re-release site too.

Some american women are rather touchy when it comes to cleavage. Especially when it concerns a certain american right. Then again, we saw this dress in a valentine's day deal, and in her sprites for Risky's Revenge, she sports a jacket in her sprites.

..Or americans just like to censor things to "protect the children".

The character himself is a washed up nobody with a big heart and big dreams. He also does whatever Roll tells him to do, like climb mountains or something looking (digging) for treasure.

This also reminds me more of the plot to the DuckTales NES games than Trigger, as Scrooge always has something in the back of his head to go and get something himself, not hire someone else to do it. Mega Man is a similar situation, only with a more physical entity giving him those orders.

I also liked Over-1's design.. He just had bad timing, along with MEGA MAN SCROOGE.. and had the unfortunate deal of being a mary sue, mass produced model and everything. Huh, reminds me A LOT of Silver the Hedgehog. He was hated by the fact that he's another of sonic's games, and came in a bad game. It took awhile to get to know him better, though.

News and Announcements / Re: Bandai announces D-Arts Rockman figure
« on: September 09, 2012, 03:35:41 AM »
The articulation is pretty obvious on him, and im pretty sure pack in or not, if he's part of the D-Arts line, he will have decent articulation.

But I am sure he probably wont have the ability to jet morph though.

Well, bandai is known to have interchangable features of a character, so Rush Jet IS possible, but as a seperate body in which you have to take rush apart then re-assemble, Jazwares style. I could be wrong though.

Now THAT'S consistancy in the artwork.. Wait until Ace Attorney 7 and the artwork changes on you, they start getting an anime and the cycle will continue again as with other series did (anyone see any changes within Street Fighter's artwork lately than from what it looked since SF Hyper II Turbo?)

I'm actually suprised with this series' consistancy, knowing capcom. I've never played the games, but read the mangas.

Uh? What are you talking about? Those games are completely different projects, jkb and Phil aren't working together. They aren't even using the same engine to make the games...

Well, due to the similar development hell situations both projects had, plus how they're done by a small team of dedicated fans. welp, I guess this year we'll be getting fan projects at the 25th anniversary.. But I don't know about what Phil wants to do after Unlimited..

It could just be a blurb, since JKB HAS gotten hush-hush lately. That and I'm not to think that doing an entire fangame with huge effort and doing it alone would be done quickly, think the whole situation with Lucas' Empire that was under lock and key during the entire production, not a single peep was made about that during that time, and it's a possible guess as to why Unlimited is taking so long alongside the obligatory life and engine switch.

And even though he's doing it alone and it looks amazing so far in the case of Corrupted, that should raise a red flag as it too had a similar situation involving lost data. One-man bands without a pre-made engine when it comes to making independent titles will take awhile AND also to be kept secret at the same time, so we don't know when both games are coming out, although many are guessing by the time of Mega Man's 25th Anniversary.

Judging from the graphics (lol), it's probably gonna be released for both the vita and 3DS. Did they ever release that other crossover title with Proffesor Layton, or did I forget about that one?

Then again-again, some of the best fan games from the last few years have been one or two-person projects and they didn't take years to finish...  >_>;

Can't blame the Unlimited team for the trouble, that and Mr. Philly is also probably juggling this project with Mega Man X: Corrupted (probably with cooperation with JKB Games), which I think Corrupted should be put on hold for the final stretch of this fan game.

They also could've had an extra set of hands too if they weren't so secretive.

X / Re: X4 is really overrated
« on: September 03, 2012, 07:26:15 AM »
Probably because Magma Dragoon had a unique gig going for him at the time, as he was probably the only one of the regular eight bosses to appear in the intro stage in the X series as of yet, and being fleshed out more to boot.

Also, there's Final Fantasy VII if there's another reason to buy a PlayStation. Other than than it being able to play games it itself was mostly an overglorified CD Player.

And yeah, I could just jam out to one of the tracks in X5 and X6, but I just found Walrus' stage to be a bit more theraputic/christmas oriented than a song to slaughtering countless mechanaloids. That and X2 & 3 put a little overemphasis in the guitar I find.

That is until you go to TSR.

Though, some of the parts of the main sprite blend in with the angel wings.
