-Whoops, wrong thread, snip snip!-

Feel free to add me to the Nintendo 3DS Friends Code list.  I'll appear on your list as "Lithius" instead of "Joseph," though!

Added too.

Here's the one and only answer you all need.

BAD RETCON out of someone who clearly doenst know his own series anymore  -_-

Well, it's not like the first time Miyamoto did this. Nintendo IS known for inconsistent storytelling after all (LoZ and it's fuckin' screwy timeline).. Save for a few.

Ow [tornado fang], now I know how ace feels when he took that beer cage to the effin' neck.. ow. Never stand behind a moving crate again at one of the edges while sorting goddamn hangars. What MADE it hurt for the fact that the edge of the wooden crate was made of steel.

If you're referring to Ran Cossack, the fanon character... well, two things.  1. He's fanon, and 2. he wasn't "mass-produced."  He could have been, but no.  He was just made of "such incredibly cheap parts" than he was easy to replace if he broke.  Which he did.  A lot.

I was talking about Over-1, not Ran. Since it's technically a DCN(m) unit, and he DOES look a bit like fanon Ran Cossack, I can see why.

Shantae: Risky's Revenge 100% run. I rarely do these types of things, but because of how easily I can plow through it and found a good gem-grinding spot in the Desert Pass, to buy the upgrades for the Magic and Shantae's whipping speed.

Some Playstaion Plus freebies. They recently put up Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, so I'm playing that. Lovin' it so far.

Freebies? Damn, wish I could afford a plus membership.  :\

Aaaand now:

Shantae 100% run clear. Total Time: 07:25:51. 2 of 4 Special End Credits Images acquired (One is Shantae's promo art and the other Risky Boots, I still need Rottytops and Shantae in swimsuit).

The problem is they ALWAYS play it safe. ALWAYS. They have played it safe with Mega Man long before this. It's why we got X8 the way it was after X7 bombed as a 3D X game, and Command Mission, different genre aside, most likely didn't sell enough units to warrant trying 3D again. It's the reason they never wanted to go back to Legends. Because it failed them and they just didnt want to take the risk despite ever increasing fan demand for a Legends 3.

It's the reason they went for a retro revival too. They know for a fact that hardcore nostalgic gamers who played the original NES games growing up will definitely buy a new NES game. Especially if it tries to emulate Mega Man 2. The fan favorite.

Capcom has done nothing but play it safe for a long time. And it's done nothing but cause the franchise to suffer. So people dont buy the games as they get worse, and therefore Capcom plays it safer still. But if we support one of their mediocre products, they will IMMEDIATELY jump at the chance to cash in on that one specific thing, since in their eyes, that is what people want.
It's such a ridiculous lose lose situation.

This is what I've been trying to tell someone on TMMN. It's just that capcom's played it safe for a long time now and it's starting to show in other franchises they own to the point that other companies outsource them (ProjectXZone shows this well).

Here, let me fetch an excript from the debate on the subject:

Quote
essentially though, level design has little correlation to change in mechanics, because you could probably play all the levels from MM1-6 as mario from MB3 with his games mechanics, and it would still work, and might actually be a very entertaining game! though you probably wouldn’t be able to get past the wily stages where you need specific weapons, most levels would work fine.

Umm, yeah. Something tells me that you would NEED to modify the gameplay in order to get Mario to work IN MM1-6. Mega Man and Bass ring any bells? I feel that the game was designed more in favor for Bass (to an extension, Mega Man X) than Classic Mega Man. See something wrong here?

but it's still insulting &/or offensive. It's like Transformers 3.

Tell that to Transformers: Kiss Players, which is one of the STRANGEST things Takara has done with the franchise.

We'll also have to wait like every other ignored Capcom fanbase. And we're not exactly being ignored.

...Thanks for bringing that up...

Capcom is [parasitic bomb] with PR relations, even before this madness. How many people do we have waiting for a new Rival Schools game for some time now? While Mega Man might live on in comic book format, and from what you said they are "invested" in SF, RE, and Pheonix Wright now.

Speaking of which, didin't they have a working RPG engine for Mega Man and could have used that instead of.. this? Also, While the mass produced unit is uncharacteristic of Dr. Light, Dr. Cossack on the other hand..

That thought crosses my mind when I see stupidity on Wookieepedia.  It just means that you're shaping up to be an evil admin. :P

Forum moderating is not an easy task, I should know, I know several other mods in different forums, and ex-staff. [parasitic bomb] can and WILL get real and it's stressful work for them, having to quell cyber drama.

Also, I had a crazy mech idea where bad mechs invade the world from uranus set in the spanish inquisition period (the reason for mechs actually EXIST there in that period is that they are techno-organic).

And thinking about how I'm going to do this Slenderman outfit for halloween.

I was thinking a tuxedo and a chef's hat. (how that works is simple: instead of the head, you should put it on your face)

I need more space for games and Anime.

Guess its time to kick my old Game Informers to the curb.

Though, is there any value to them? I'm sure you can sell them off.

ooooooOOOOOOOOhh!! Warrick Davis, you gain 10+ respect points. I think they did it again with III by kicking a [parasitic bomb]-ton of clone ass and duking it out with palpatine, with CGI support.

THIS along with old-fashioned movie magic and a well-written script is something I miss. Nowadays it's all boom Boom BOOM! with that budget.

In the meantime, enjoy some Uncanny Star Wars:

And that's a lovely little critter, what is he?

I say assault them. You'll be doing the world a service!  8)

Also, I love Man v. Food

Oh god. You can tell why I love the travel channel, this is one of those reasons. It introduced me (or was it another show?) to the Heart Attack Grill.. and the service is fiiiiiiine~

Though, I say "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" was unecessary though.

HAHAHAHAHA!! Did they seriously have Zero using the X4/5/6 dash-saber exploit??? Legendary.

Looks like they remembered the damage multiplier, and used it here!  :D

Also, can't seem to shake the feeling that they've used some battle elements from the recent shining force games, among other battle elements being drawn from other RPGs, since this IS a three-way crossover with those with RPG experince, aside from the obvious NxC battle template (the cross thing seems to probably work like break attack, meaning it would add to the current total damage).

I'll summarize the IGN review for you.

"I HATE BEAT-EM-UPS WHY AM I EVEN REVIEWING THIS GAME IT SUCKS BECAUSE IT IS A BEAT-EM-UP WHICH I HATE"

there, summarized.

It's funny, beacause they LOVE the first person shooter genre, more specifically the Call of Duty series, as that seems to get the most praise while they slam just about everything else that's not dark n' grit (even the MML Abridged Guy makes fun of this).

Also, gotta love Abobo's new look.

Rockman Series / Re: Have you ever recommended anything Mega Man to anyone?

ZX is effectively ZERO5, same development team, natural progression of the story and so forth. You should not treat them as separate entities.

I think of it mostly as a "Another Story", as it's mostly treated as such (story-wise, it takes place years after Zero 4 and not much is mentioned until ZXA).

So I was playing the first Mega Man Battle Network at Middle School, I randomly blurted out "gonna get that w-w-w bee-hind" to myself, and caught the attention to a friend behind me causing to get a reaction from him going "who's the w-w-w?". I don't know where he is now but I think I may or may not have gotten him interested in the series due to curiosity as he didn't look like the gamer type.

Nope because my friends are fuckers and like games like Call of Duty and all that crap

Huh, must've been the "classy" ones then, I had a similar case with the xbox/pc gaming crowd too.

News and Announcements / Re: Rockman Online cancelled?
« on: September 17, 2012, 12:51:40 AM »
Like say, with AA5. I'm looking forward to it but I'd get over it pretty quickly if it got cancelled. I just can't bring myself to care about a game too much until I've actually played it.

That's exactly how I feel sometimes. Especially when it comes to subjects like us americans perferring to blow pointless drama out of proportion than talk our way out of it.

I'm now imagining WAMP-X at his desk at the Fedex office, with a memorial picture of GBD, who also used to work for Fedex. XD

My standard issue Over-1 unit would be named bob, and assign him to laundry duty since everyone is already giving their fanon name to their Over-1 unit. Which is the best part as Over-1 seems more public domain as it's a mass-produced unit.

Rockman Series / Re: [News] No New Game for 25th Anniversary (Probably)

What I don't get is where the current standards sit between not broken and need to be fixed, thus like you said making it hard to pinpoint to tell what needs to be fixed as we look back to the games that were made 25 years ago, I can go on.

A chess set, a collection all Street Fighter games available for current consoles + goodies (anime, a statue, music, art book, etc), and worlwide tournaments with cash prizes of a $500,000 total + A [tornado fang]ing SPORTS CAR for a game that its own fandom hates for the most part.

Gee I wonder which franchise is Capcom's favorite.

And the fact that they pour ALL their effort to make add extra game modes to Street Fighter's current engine really shows it.. Not. It's fanbase still hates them because it's "not the same as Street Fighter II".

By this point I'm really just not looking for another Jump and Shoot Guy game, which what many fans seem to want which could be the reason WHY capcom decided to can both games and give us a shoddy game: They ran out of ideas what to do with Mega Man, and Legends 3 was the closest thing to a saving grace.

What I am looking for is the fans to let go of the "don't fix what ain't broke" notion, as that notion itself is a double-edged sword.
