Wasn't the movie a Yu-Gi-Oh/EXE combo? At least, in the opening? Or was that some other property?

You must be thinking of Duel Masters, which was huge (and the apparent weeaboo answer to Magic: The Gathering) at the time. :P

Lol, I wasnt being serious. I was kidding around bout the yugioh thing.

The EXE anime was so messed up. They even ignored the Megaman = Hub part. Making Megaman a run of the mill navi who just happens to always win because he's megaman.

Although- The movie WAS all kinds of awesome.

I know, but that was for those that think the EXE thing is no diffrent than YGO. It's more like Digimon (Digital Worlds, Ancient Monsters, etc) in a sense. Each kid has a guardian that kicks all kinds of ass and feeds them/installs something to make them even more uber.

Exactly, Tai. As I said, same design, but he was just a robot built by Wily.

And to build off of what Spectro said, the only reason Navis can battle is to protect their Operator's comps and their PETs from viruses. Naturally, Navis battling each other grew from that. Most Navis don't even have their own weapons like the GutsPunch or Rockbuster; some can't even fight at all (like Silk).

And unlike Yu-Gi-Oh where, as someone said, a person who murdered his friend will just duel you, some people in EXE-land will kill. See the fools at the end of EXE6 who, upon losing their Navis, decide to use their own bodies to attack Netto, since he's a puny child and doesn't have Rock's power at his disposal as in a NetBattle.

Don't forget when Wily tried to ACTUALLY destroy the world with a virus-implanted missile in the first game is also something that nobody within the right mind in the Yugi-Verse won't do. Hell, even Wily tried the same stunt twice with the Cybeasts (minus the missile).

There are also terrorists/extraterrestrials that want the world gone, even the extraterrestrial wanted that planet dead.

This has got to be my favorite character design in the entire Mega Man franchise. Such a shame that it's just a glorified radiation suit for Sean. When I first saw this picture, I thought it was going to be a kick ass boss for MMBN2. I'm not the only one who felt this way, am I?

Now that I look at it, this is something that Lady GaGa would wear. But then again, why NOW are we discussing the "middle man" of the first half of the Battle Network saga?

They try to make a 'deep' dramatic story out of... kids playing with internet avatars. Yeah, pretty Yu-Gi-Oh. You even get to collect 'cards'.

Don't you mean Battle Doll Angelic Layer? They fall in the similar concepts of fighting avatars, with family drama at the end. Except one's with avatars and the other with competetive toys.

A Dragon Soldier sprite, yep.

This isn't something that needs debating  XD

Like with almost every subject matter here? I can SO see this getting a debate. It's RPM, afterall. What's RPM without debates anyway? 8D

Why does airplanes need lavatories if the poo's gonna land on some unfourtunate car while crossing the state? That I don't know. Thank God these new models are much more cleaner.

Also, Inazuma Eleven looks like it's growing to be mainstream soon, it's getting a lot of praise right now. I can't see what the hype is about for this one, maybe the art style is similar to Prof. Layton? Or was it a similar case like Tohou (started from a completely unknown game, then all of a sudden became mainstream in the jap market as an one episode anime)?

And what's up with that counter on Youtube? What am I missing here? I don't know, fly casual.

Basically, this is what happened to Shinobu when the others were seperated. She has to move statues around, dispite her build.

She's also a maid and the emperor's chew toy. If you get what I mean.

I sometimes wonder whatever happen to America, the land of the free...
This makes me cry. :'(

Oh god, not the "Land of the free, I get to do the bloody hell I want!" excuse again. such a low. -_-

But alas, but what about a certain man's digital manga "Nekomimi" manga series? That could work, people called upon his help before.

Basically:

Buy and download Scanalation. Something that COULD work, if the author has a scanner and has permission by law.

2738
I can call my fecal matter Manga, and it wouldnt mean it IS.

Even then the so called "manga" is a hard-cover comic book. Just as bad as a troll in central park, I tell ya.

2739
Don't call that [parasitic bomb] manga.

Too bad it was already labled manga by the author who made it. 8D

But yeah, seeing the big name manga all the time does get tiring (One Peice, Naruto, DBZ, etc).

« on: July 23, 2010, 03:41:03 AM »
Expect it to be another spinoff, that's for sure. I stopped caring (and inevitably bitching about) DASH long ago. I don't know about you, but I'm certainly not fazed by this, but I will keep an eye on Universe.

2741
saves me the trouble of having to wade through Naruto and Bleach to get the 1 manga I want.

And Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z, you won't belive how common this series is at my local Barnes n' Noble (eats up half a rack, after that, it's anything mainstream). Very much this.

2742
3. It might be because you don't ever keep your opinion focused throughout an entire post. It might be because of this weird condescending attitude you take whenever you present your arguments. It could also be because this board has a more rigid stance on saying things without merit vs. saying things that are at least thought out. Pick your poison.

That explains alot. I might need better sentence structures afterall. However, I've seen US properties trying to mimic the japanese style and calling it manga. It's happened before. It's also why ads are never a good idea. More ads = easier pickings I say.

2743
...why the [tornado fang] is Avatar: TLA, a western animated series even mentioned in a post related to [tornado fang]ing manga scanlations being attacked? What does Square-Enix alone have to do with this when the article clearly states that they are one of a 36 corporation strong coalition against manga piracy? Humor me with an answer, because the more I see you post the more I wonder if I'm just getting annoyed with no justification or as I suspect, you don't have a [tornado fang]ing clue what you're saying.

I hate explaining things..

1. If this is come to pass, most likely SE and other companies would have to be blamed for it by millions of anime and manga fans that couldn't afford almost all the manga in existence.

2. Avatar: TLA is also had a comic book/manga adaptation. Basically, we might have to resort into buying US merchandise again. And I don't feel like burning $20 just for some adaptation you can get online.

3. Why that when I say something, I feel like I'm better off at other boards SAYING these things? This hardly makes any sense.  -AC

2744
So that means we'll have to be stuck with [parasitic bomb]-overraited manga (Twilight) now even though good manga lacks in the US? What the [tornado fang], I don't feel like reading Naruto once a week, and Avatar: The last airbender. what the hell guys.. wait. It's Squeenix. Damn, I knew those guys are not to be trusted. I HATE IMPORTING!  >_<

Recently watched Arakawa Under the Bridge.

.. You just HAD to watch that pool of randomness, did ya? I'm stuck watching Battle Doll Angelic Layer; notorious for it's dub's corny one-liners. DX

Didin't knew Negi was british. I must've missed the part where it mentions he's from Britan. There's Hetalia Britan and Layton (And even an animu variant of Harry Potter), but I don't know who the white haired man is. :X
