Subtle implication that there's more than one type of play style; trailers only showed the "tip of the iceberg."
Customization is a big part of the game. Capcom rep. strongly hinted at a stage editor of sorts.
Ryu, as well as the three Mega Man variants, are confirmed as playable characters. Hints of a large roster of playable characters.
Not only do the three Mega Men differ in appearance (Mega Man, Bad Box Art Mega Man and Rockman), they each have their own play styles and abilities. Bad Box Art Mega Man, for instance, can fire two shots at a time.
The "angry" Mega Man was designed by Masafumi Kimoto. Why is he so angry? That's just Kimoto's style, apparently.
Although the trailers made it seem like MMU is largely influenced by Mega Man 2, there's a "very good possibility" we'll be seeing content from other Mega Man games.
Mega Man Universe not making it to Wii has to do with the file size limitations of Nintendo's WiiWare service. Capcom noted they would like to be able to support a Wii version, but couldn't at this time.
Target release date of Spring 2011.
"Everything we've shown will make more sense" come Tokyo Game Show, according to the rep.

You know, one day you'll actually put your Soldier News hound powers to more use and actually post a news topic! XD
-
Well that sounds [tornado fang]ing cool already.
-
I thought the three mega men would be different, though I had doubts when I saw BBAMM [buh-bam] shooting regular plasma pellets rather than LAZER BLASTS

I knew it. I don't know why Nintendo won't just enable USB mass storage and be done with it (SD card load times are atrocious anyway).
-
especially since they DO have USB ports and accept certain usb devices.
-
I have to admit that does sound pretty cool. I have become slightly more interested now.
-
Now they are hinting that it might be CO-OP as well.

Looks like Co-Op is the next best thing.
-
It was always the best thing.

Not that it's proof or anything, but I'm sure that could easily be photo-shopped. Just copy/paste the life bars. While there's 4 life bars, I only see one Mega Man, which is another reason why I believe it could be photo-shopped.
In any case, where ever the source is, Co-Op would definitely be nice. :)

Oh my GOD that would automatically make it one of the best MM titles ever.
Holy hell.

I've been longing for some Co-OP MM for the longest time now.

Seth Killian gets interviewed. A little more info about the making of MM Universe and strong hints of showing at TGS 2010.

So at least we finally get an official name for the "pissed off" MegaMan that will I suppose be the base for all MegaMan characters, as Sack Boy is to Little Big Planet.
Something like, "Kimoto" MegaMan, or is it "Kimono" MegaMan? It's hard to tell what he's saying in the video. But it sounds like either Kimoto, or Kimono. Not sure what the spelling is.
-
Correct me if am wrong but, aint "Kimoto" a kind a dragon or lizard of some sort?
-
That's "Komodo"
-

-
Kimono is a kind of dress, incidentally.
"Dress" Megaman...
-
Hmm....... I just realized something. It would make sense if it was called Kimoto Megaman, thus being named after its creator Masafumi Kimoto. Like how we have Inafune RockMan, named after Keiji Inafune. Though it's sad that they say the BBAMM will remain nameless.

When I first saw this trailer the other day, I was severely disappointed. In my eyes, Mega Man Universe was nothing more than another mediocre fanservice title that was meant to please Mega Man 2 fanboys. All the excitement that I had for the game (which was very little, since the teaser told us next to nothing about the game) had officially flown out the window. However, I've began to warm up to the game a little bit, once it was confirmed that Mega Man Universe was going to feature content from more games than just Mega Man 2. I think there just may be some hope for this game yet.
-
I think people should wait until we learnw hat features the game has. Capcom wont call it revolutionary for nothing.
people are gettign all worked up over a in production video.

Like Superbat said: We'll have to just call him Steve. :\

It's a great name. We should suggest it to Inafune. =P

There's a club for that. It's called "Everybody", they meet at the bar.
I can't be the only person who was so desperate for such a thing as to pass the controller to a friend in X3 during character changes.
Recall that both of the main-series X titles on PS2 received mistranslations about being co-op. As INCONCEIVABLE!!! as it is, Capcom may have taken a hint.
Or it may just be the usual wishful thinking. :|

Yes, but I've wanted it longer, cause I'm older than most of you! :P
And yes, Lou & I did the X3 thing!

Check this sucker out.

EDIT: Now that I look at it, maybe it might need its own topic since it's Capcom's TGS page.
EDIT2: MMU is also going to be in its ''playable form''

i still dont know what to think about it..

I may not be Atari-old, but I pretty much wished for Contra-style co-op the split second I laid eyes on ProtoMan in MM3. That's gotta be worth something.

Same here. I mean, you see how often I praise anything regarding Playable Blues! XD

Just hope that such a thing is online.

Point taken. Mrs. Shell plays a mean round of Mario Kart, but she cringes in terror at even Power Fighters.
-
My question here is, why? why did capcom made this game??? they should be focusin on the goddamn story for crying out loud....*sigh*

WHAT story..? Classic doesnt have much of a story... its just megaman vs Wily.
Unless you expect some sort of dramatic connection to X.
-
Who says we won't be getting some sort of story mode that reenacts MM2?

Oh yes. How shall we survive without the huge detailings of this amazing narrative? Megaman's all about the story, of course. Nothing else really matters.
-
Now even *I* can't argue with that...
-
Sounds like your being sarcastic. XD

My point exactly.

...It was already dead
-
When you think about it, the MegaMan storyline is the closest we'll ever get to modern day Shakespeare.

OK.
Now you must elaborate.

Hmmmmm....
Gimme time on that. LoL, I'm at work and on the side were I have to pay attention to what I'm watching! XD

Not saying the Megaman plot can't be ADAPTED into something better. Anything can, really. The Protomen is an example of that.
The best story that could ever be made would be if Megaman Universe was some kind of ultimate multiversal multidimensional crossover between all different Megamen, together to stop a threat from annihilating all of reality.
(I really gotta put some damn variety into my recent literature. This [parasitic bomb]'s affecting me badly >_>)

..Did you see Turtles Forever?

C-C-C-CANCELLED.

-
This should be a shocker to no one.
So, with this dead and Legends 3 not even green lit for mass production, this is quite a bleak time for the franchise in its native format.
-
What day is it tommorow?
-
FRIDAY. No but seriously, with all the negative feedback and the fact that it's actually the 31st right now -o-
Also, if it's a joke it's not funny. Jokes are meant to be funny =w=
-
On average, Japan doesn't care about a childish American day.
And people expected some western themed Rockman to secuceed? Neither it nor Dash 3 have capcoms real support, and the only reason they were green lit was due to Inafune being head of Global production. With him gone, I expect DASH 3 to get canned as well.
-
Huh, I expected Mega Man Universe to get canned anyway from the "too many projects" disease.
DASH 3's postponed because some things have come up with co-workers elsewhere from what I've heard. But I have a feeling DASH 3's gone far into the project to get canned now. I mean, we are in the VA and modeling phases. That IS something, right?
Unless capcom decides to release SFVI SUPER DUPER TURBO EDITION, I can see DASH 3 living on. Not many people were too interested in RnR, and look how far that got. :D
-
Just expect the worst and hope for the best.
