Title: Why, Why ain't they shyyyy?

So, why do all most superheroes/ heroes wear frikkin' speedos on top of their..uniform?

Like Batman, Superman, Ironman, ROCKman etc etc Is it some kind of mutual recognition sign or something? Someone else ever asked themselves why?

Because stylish underwear looks good on top instead of under. Also, back then this sort of thing wasn't considered silly, and now it's too late to change some characters uniforms because they're too iconic.

Personally, I don't think men and women, whether superheroes or not, should wear underwear at all.

Take into account that Wonder Woman's uniform is essentially a bikini.

It's Magical Armor. LoL, which is the only explanation how it stays on with her Wondertits.

Although the BB version has silver trim, and can apparently form spikes out itself.
