Fan Games / Re: MegaMan Endless - Level Design Contest! - CLOSED
« on: July 06, 2016, 07:08:20 AM »
I got to play around with it a bit more last night. I'm liking it so far, except for the levels that have excess spikes in them lol. What made you choose those two levels I made instead of the other ones? I already figured that level with the bomb maze was not going to make it, but I was surprised the level with the guts man lifts made it in.

If there is one thing that should be added in this game is the ability to instantly replay the game instead of having to go to the main menu and pick one of the modes. I just think it's a minor inconvenience having to navigate the menus again instead of just hitting a button right at that game over screen. Maybe get rid of one of those "Play me!" links?

Awesome! I am gonna be playing a little bit for now. I was curious, is that my level in this screenshot here? http://blyka.legends-station.com/pics/screens/ss-megamanendless-9.png

Also, on my very first playthrough, my level loaded up first. :D

Awesome! I'm on the list! Thank you very much! You just made my night! I wonder which level you chose from mine?

I can't wait to see what it looks like in the new graphics style.

Thanks for giving the opportunity to let everyone design levels for you. I definitely had fun with it, despite some of the bugginess with the engine. I've always wanted to make Megaman levels and this was a great opportunity to do just that. When will we know the results of the contest and when will this get released?

I don't get it... what's the difference between Chris "Shadowheart" Corona and Chris "Yuushi" Corona besides their nicknames (or middle names)?

Alright, you guys were right. Zeta Gundam was pretty cool after all. I just finished the last episode. I really liked it. :)

I bought myself a D-Arts Vile finally at Sacanime along with 4 Gundam Converge figurines. I really want to buy some more of those, but unfortunately a lot of the older ones are no longer in production :(.

Does it really affect the viewing experience THAT much (besides watching Stardust Memories before Zeta)?

Alright, I gave Zeta Gundam another shot, and I'm starting to get into it. I just finished watching episode 14. I can safely say that this is not so bad. I also watched MSG 0080:War in the Pocket and MSG 0083: Stardust Memory before trying to watch Zeta Gundam again. Both pretty neat OVAs.

They don't? That's odd, when I continued from C. Viper's stage after losing all my lives, I was able to keep all my E-Tanks.

Oh! You meant when the E-Tanks don't respawn in the stage after losing all your lives? Oh. I thought you meant the ones in your inventory. Yeah, that does suck. :(

I just beat the game a few minutes ago. I already said my thoughts in my first post here.

Press F2 in the weapon select screen. The default controls are really uncomfortable, so I switched it to a similar control scheme I used for Rokko-Chan and Rockman 7 FC.

Also, this is apparently the recommended boss order:
Ryu>Chun-Li>C.Viper>Dhalism>Blanka>Rose>Rolento>Urien
Also, more spoilers on the final bosses:
Balrog = Pit, Vega = Lightning Kick, M. Bison = Hadouken
I'm stuck on the final stage where you have to re-fight the "robot masters" again. This game is a bit unforgiving. You don't even get the big health capsules when you defeat the bosses again . At least you keep your E-Tanks when you lose all your lives and continue.
Nevermind, it turns out you can get a big weapon and health energy pellet when you shoot those spinning orb things floating above the hands.
With that said though, I liked it. It's not too bad, just a bit difficult. The weapons are cool. I like the Yoga Flame and Optic Laser. I hope some of these weapons (or their concepts) make a return in an official Mega Man game. I really like the music too. Apparently, there's going to be a free release of the soundtrack some time tomorrow.

I actually watched that for the first time last month, believe it or not. I really enjoyed it, despite its age and the cheesiness. I tried watching Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam afterwards, but I just couldn't get into it. I [tornado fang]ing hated Kamille. So I stopped and decided to watch MSG: The 08th MS Team. That series was really cool. I wish there were more series that have similar tone and style(?) like 08th MS Team.

You should try to pick up a copy of The Vilppu Drawing Manual. There's probably copies of it on Amazon. Also, I seriously hope you consider taking some art classes and figure drawing classes. There's only so much a bunch of people online can do to help you out. You'll want to get some formal training if you are really serious about pursuing a career as an artist. ...Then again, that last bit of advice might not apply to ALL artists. Some are already better than others and might not NEED that much formal training, but then again, it never hurts to take some classes to hone your skills.

I don't know any places in the general local area that has something like that,
If you have to travel 20 miles to get the necessary education to further develop your artistic skills, so be it. Sometimes, you'll have to make certain sacrifices to achieve your goal.

Anyway, would watching YouTube videos help? With real people and drawing what's in the video?
I personally wouldn't do that. Just take a figure drawing class. Drawing a person/object in real life is much better since you'll get a better sense on how to draw something in a 3 dimensional space rather than a flat space. Not sure if that's the right phrasing, I'm sure one of the more skilled artists can explain it better.

Quick question Viruschris, have you ever taken any figure drawing classes or art classes before (ones outside of high school)? This isn't meant to be an offending question, I'm just curious is all.

Well my character isn't really a REAL person and the proportions can be different, I mean it's possible to make someone with super long legs if they want.

You'd still want to use real people for reference just to get the basic proportions right though.

I think you should have an option to choose between the two soundfonts.

I've always liked the remixes you've put out. What do you have in store for everyone next? Some more Mega Man ZX mixes? Perhaps some MMZX:Advent stuff?

Has anyone else been playing SCV yet?

I played through the Story mode and the offline modes mostly. I haven't played online yet. It's fun for the most part. I did make a few characters in the Character Creation mode including a Mari Makinami in her school uniform (sort of). Is it just me or is there less items to use in it than in Soul Calibur 3 and 4?
