Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and I would like to show off a fan game I've been working for the past year called Protoman's Return. It's pretty much a regular megaman game but with some new features added to the game such as the air slide. So far the progress is coming along really well. In fact I plan on releasing a demo really soon. For now, here are some videos to show off (credit to JoP for recording the footage):

Protoman's Return Stage Intro

Protoman's Return Tornado Man Stage

Protoman's Return Freeze Man Stage

I could also use a little bit of help in terms of spriting but so far I'm doing alright there. Let me know what you guys think. As I mentioned already I'm going to release a demo soon. Just need to debug a few things and see what works and what doesn't. Anyways I'm really excited to show what I have in store for you guys. Hope you enjoy.

EDIT: The game is done. Here's the link EDIT: The game is done. Here's the link https://www.sendspace.com/file/d66vum

You really just going to 8 bit MMXC song and use like that?
Be more respectful please, as a fellow game maker to another.

Oh I was actually using that as place holder until I could find a good theme for my intro stage. Same with Napalm Man's stage. I apologize if I seemed disrespectful.

Yeah I'm actually planning on changing the theme and try to find something that has the same feel as the one I currently have. So this theme won't be in the official demo, let alone the final release.

Hey guys I'm back after a month or so lol. So anyways I just want to start by apologizing to JKB for using his intro theme. I had no intention of stealing it or using it for the final version.

That being said, I've been writing my own intro theme and I must say it's really fitting for how I want it to be. I tried talking to other people about making it 8 bit style but haven't had that much luck. So I used famitracker and did it myself. Here are the results: http://www.sendspace.com/file/tc8tr2

There are a few things I would like to tinker with still, but so far I think it's pretty good. I don't know; what do you guys think? I don't know if this will be the version to use or not but we'll see.

A demo will be released shortly. Sorry to keep you guys waiting but there will one soon lol.

Hmm...I see that you've showcased your game not only at Fusion Gameworks.
Anyway, I just want to tell you that I'm still working on my MegaMan engine, and that you can use it, if I have finally added everything I wanted to add. However, progress is rather slow at the moment, since I have multiple works to do.
And as a small self-advertisement, I'm also going to use my engine in order to create my version of an otherwise cancelled MegaMan fangame, which was also showcased at RockmanPM, so stay tuned either way.
Hey man glad to see things are coming along well. If there's anything you need help with like with enemies or anything like that, I'm definitely willing to help out. Anyways yeah I would love to check out the engine you have.

Actually, coding enemies is not the hardest thing. Coding gameplay stuff like the sliding is a lot harder.
I have to take a lot of things in account, like MegaMan being able to slide over 1-block wide and with enough precision 2-block wide gaps or continuing sliding, as long as something is below him and being able to change slide directions, if that's the case.
Also, I'm still trying to figure out, why the screen-freezing meter refill doesn't work. At least climbing works as it should...
Also, is it okay to do my own version of an RockmanPM fangame, if the one, who made the original, doesn't work on it anymore and is generally not active anymore?

I don't know. That's hard for me to decide. I would say yes but maybe ask the guy before posting about or even working on it. But that's just me.

I tried, but he doesn't seem to be active anymore.
By the way, the name of the creator of the original game is Gatuka/Gatuca, just in case you're wondering.
