You know I always wanted to buy a PSP however I had no idea just how PSP versions are there. Can give me advice on what PSP version to get? And what I can do with each version?

I can tell you one thing, DON'T BUY PSP GO.
For the love of all that is holy, don't.

Other than that, try to hunt down one, which doesn't have the LATEST firmware (look it up), unless you don't care about homebrew and OBTAINING GAMES THE LEFT WAY.
Oh and, I suggest also you buy PSP Slim. Be it if you are buying on ebay or whatever. Slims are just so much better.

The model I have (PSP3001) is one sturdy [chameleon sting]er, and it most likely has a failsafe to keep UMD discs from getting damages (when it lands, it ejects the battery, memory stick and/or UMD disk if I recall) and overall it fits pretty well in your pocket, and ages decently.

Again, that's just preference, and a suggestion.

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Got a 3000 and can't really complain about it.  Screen's great, plays actual UMDs (PSPgo, lol), video output for when I'm at home, yay all around.

Whatever model you get, though, do yourself a favor and get a case/pouch for it.  That screen gets smudged easily enough as it is; you don't want anything else happening to it.

PSP 3000 did NOT come with a case? The first two models did...

The first PSP I bought was used (PSP 1000), so I didn't get the case.

As far as I know, the 3000 doesn't come with a case. At least the KH Birth by Sleep - PSP 3000 bundle I bought last year didn't. But It could be they simply removed the case for the bundle, I have no idea.

It depends on what you want for the system. It basically coming to an end soon and you might be better off looking into the Vita or 3ds. If you find it worth it though I would go with the 3000. It's easy to find new first off. The 1000 and 2000 are not easy to find new.

I got a core pack new; no game bundle, and no case.  System, battery, charger, that was it.

All I got was PSP3001 with the Ratchet & Clank game along with the Night of the Musem (at least, I THINK, or a MUMMY series UMD vid; can't recall) along with the rest of the stuff. Good deal too. But it doesn't really matter when it comes to the COLOR of the PSP, as long as it works, I say.
