Thinking about giving The Longest Journey another go, I got the two games over steam for Christmas, not a huge point and click adventure game player but there is something about this story's world I really like.

Perhaps I'll DL the Demo!

Do it, you'll get some bonuses for the full game based on how much of the demo you complete.

Are the bonuses free level ups and items?

And for some reason the Demo has like a sort of post game boss, as odd as it sounds.

Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

Not too bad a bonus, might have to give it a try.

Thats kinda cool actually, as a Final Fantasy fan I love me some optional super bosses.  8D

You definitely should. It's really difficult, as the enemies are powerful from the get-go.

From what I've heard, only the demo is like that though. The full game should start off with fair difficulty.
Yeah, it's because the demo starts you off in an area that's a tiny bit into the game. Also the fetch quests in the demo aren't indicative of the quests in the full game, which are more involved with much better rewards.

Finished Rise of the Triad (2013). Not bad, though I never even finished the original.

Moving on to Painkiller Overdose since I'm in a mood for more run and gun. I can really do without the horrible one liners from the edgy angle/demon hybrid protag.

Also felt like playing the Casino Night pinball game in Sonic Generations and uhh

You didn't need to be so obtuse about it

I guess all I can really say is it isn't exactly what I'd expect out of a $4.4M game

It doesn't even have mouth animations

I'm surprised Zenimax thinks a buy+subscription game will work in today's MMO market outside of the few exceptions.

I'm calling a year, maybe 2, tops, before TESO goes f2p

When I hear "Yummy, I love the taste of evil souls in the morning!" some 10-20 times per level, it gets old real fast. Also jarring to the fairly serious and semi-atmospheric intro they had going for this guy. It's supposed to be Belial and he goes on about his hatred and vengeance on basically everything, then immediately starts talking like a total dork 5 minutes into the first level.

On the minor upside, at least he doesn't grunt during jumps. Bunnyhopping is still crazy good like the original Painkiller.

Armored Core 5, and its 10 goddamn story missions. O:<

Would have been nice if the disc was Verdict Day like the case said, at least then maybe someone else would be online.  Either way, I'm guessing that in the long-term I'd have been better off getting For Answer.

Also on DeviantArt, Rumble, DLive.tv, and the Fediverse (@freespeechextremist.com and @bae.st)

I do not regret it.

My copy of Mega Man Zero Collection (early birthday present) arrived two days ago and have been playing MMZ1. So far the game's hard but it's nothing something that'll make me tear my hair out (I managed to get an A-rank streak going from the beginning) since I'm used to MMZX. Plus I find the difficulty it welcoming having already beaten every game from the X series. I hope I can snag the Official Complete Works for the Zero series. Other than that, almost done wrapping up Oni (the part I'm at is a pain though), half-way through Rusty (a solid Castlevania clone), and making some progress in the original La-Mulana.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on Steam. Runs so damn smooth. Though it already did on consoles so it'd be pretty hard for them to [tornado fang] up optimization. The even faster load times and free DLC is real nice though. Now that I'm playing on a screen that isn't 5 feet away I feel significantly better at dodges and parries. Even managed to get a No Damage run on every boss.

Also started some shooter called Hard Reset. Pretty descent and very pretty. I love the sense of scale given off by a large tower and other city buildings always present above you along with streams of hovercars and ships. Game play itself is pretty simple with only two basic guns that can transform into other weapon types, making ammo fairly easy to come by.

Finished getting 100% in Bravely Default last week, (If anyone wants my friend code for Abilink let me know, I've got every Job mastered and my summon attack does 37k) which was excellent. So now it's back to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. (Which is horrible.)

Minecraft sucked me back in. It's actually kinda cathartic digging a quarry and filling out a fully-zoomed-out map.

There's also Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. Tell me, how similar is the combat system to BBS? Because I really like it and I wish I wasn't emulating it.

what

Attack of the Friday Monsters!

Apparently, it's only about 3 hours long. Though it's less of a game, and more of something you play when you just want to kick back and relax.

The Ghibli vibes of this cemented my purchase, along with the beautiful hand-drawn backgrounds. I'm a sucker for hand-drawn stuff.

There's also Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. Tell me, how similar is the combat system to BBS? Because I really like it and I wish I wasn't emulating it.

The Osaka Team had a hand in developing the game; the same team responsible for developing BBS. So naturally, the battle system is very similar.

And anyway, it's not worth buying. Besides the gameplay, Re:coded is absolute [parasitic bomb] and no one should ever purchase it.

Got caught in the Touhoumon hype. Battling naked dudes was never this funny, before.

Now I'm intrigued to see more as I progress.

Oh, and it's the emerald version, BTW.

Fear me.

Really? I quite like it so far. What's so bad about it, exactly? The chip matrix system is something I'm really interested in, and the story is quite intriguing so far.

It failed to move the Kingdom Hearts plotline forward. It's just a filler game.

And fans especially hated it, because at the time, Nomura was making all these side titles, and it seemed like he was stalling on making KH3; A game every single fan was waiting on for years (much like Legends 3).

But, if you like the gameplay, whatever. It's just not significant as a KH title, at all.

I decided it best to do that as soon as possible.

I hear Bravely Default starts to get tedious around chapter 5 or so. Is that true?
