I think he means that you dont need to live on your own with your own income to buy icecream. I still live at home. I ask my folks to buy icecream. Or, even better, go to the store with them, and pick it out.

I do have pocket money though, so very rarely Ill call over an Ice cream truck and order a chocolate icecream double cone with chocolate sprinkles.
