My favorite spidey is 2099 spidey in the comics. I don't know about the regular spidey, he always felt better for TV due to how the writers usually handle the character in the comics. I mean, sometimes you just gotta develop a character/reboot him. Just look at DC. Ya know, I actually noticed that while running through Memoria to get to Trance Kuja. I just wanted to get through the battles quickly (though I still summoned Ark just for the hilarity of it).
