Topic: Canon and Non Canon

How we as fans intrepret what is considered to be canon or non canon in any series be it Mega Man or Mario? Granted, I am not an expert who follows the series to the letter or even have access to guidebooks but I still wonder how you can find what goes in a story or what is true in the story? I am not an expert on the Mega man/Rockman Universe like Vixy, Zan, Hypershell or any other I haven't mentioned but how to you guys find or track what is "true" in the Mega M<an or any universe and what is not?

I'd shove everthing I know about the Sonic, Megaman, and Mario series into a cannon and blast them into the moon. shows my knowlige. someone asked me all these Sonicverse questions and..

Anyways, basically, whatever the game makers say is canon, is canon. For example, Snake's Revenge was so horrible, it is no longer Metal Gear canon. They struck it out, so it is a non-canon game.

There are also things that aren't canon, but aren't non-canon either. An example is the Cataclysm theory. Things like that fall under the category of "So Stupid If You Mention It Again I Will Punch You In The Face", or STFU for short.

I'm so lenient, I say you can consider any stories that don't contradict each other too harshly to be part of some "canon", and in the end, who cares what the authors originally wanted?
