What I want to see is Model A not being a whiney coward.
Get equipped with the full game.  Model A ceases to be a coward by the time you're done with Legion HQ.

Yeah, but Lugia and Ho-oh are exclusive to the GCN titles (barring promotional island events, anyway), requiring an extra step of trades and a lot of extra hardware (you need an actual GBA and not a DS, as well as a GBA-to-GCN link cable, so unless you're into taking things apart the Micro is no good either).  Also, while the beast trio is in FR/LG, they are extremely difficult to track down.  Only one of the three will appear in any cartridge (not sure but I think it relates to your starter), as opposed to Colosseum where all three can be captured.  I'm quite certain that the vast majority of the legitimate beast trios floating around come from Colosseum.

I presume we are referring to character and not series.  In that case, Zero.

Model O is cool, but not necessary.  What is needed is to revamp Model ZX.  I remain to this day firm in my belief that Model OX is, functionally, what Model ZX *SHOULD* have been if not for game balance, due to the curse of being the game's basic form.

-Model X needs long hair, matching that of its user.
-I'm thinking we end the alternate time shpiel and have Aile/Grey be the legitimate timeline.  Have Vent pick up Model Z and we can work something out to re-introduce Ashe (Model C?).
-We demand 2-player co-op for story, preferably over wifi.
-Hu/Re should have a Chain Rod type sub-weapon (no charge attack obviously) in order to work around its lacking a wall-kick.  It gets very annoying for those looking for the challenge to have to switch every time a high jump is needed.
-Model PX should have the option of using the sub-weapon button rather than the touch screen for its seeker kunai, in which case auto-target the nearest enemy.  Also, use Mandala Star as the extra charge attack, the shield blew.
-LX should have a second, wider halberd hit on the ground (not 3 hits, we don't want the melee fighters feeling cloned), and this should allow greater fluidity in the ice platform/sticker moves (Ice Dragon remains the top charged attack).
-More trans-ons need to be able to get around walls (Hedgeshock, Shisaroids, looking at you).

L2, for sure.  Pure epic on every level.  My only regret is that they toned down the mid-boss dialogue, but what is there is still awesome, especially during the pirate train and Geetz.

Well, I tore into this on MMN, so for the benefit of RPMers I'll copy/paste my comments and criticisms.

Quote
X^X AD
Barrel Caskett is born.
->
X^X AD
-Teisel Bonne born
-Bluecher is born
I'm not sure by what grounds Barrel Caskett is separated from Bleucher (Bluecher's obviously in better health, but you never know), a source on that would be nice.  And I SINCERELY doubt Teisel was born anywhere near the same time, much less before, Bleucher.  I know the gray hair makes him look old, but despite his appearance Teisel is of the same generation as Tron, being her older brother (Tron being 14-15).  Bleucher was journeying to Forbidden Island with Barrel 30 years ago, what do you suppose Teisel's status was 30 years ago?  Maybe he was alive, maybe he wasn't, no way was he old enough to go adventuring.

Quote
X^X AD
-Tron Bonne born.
-Roll born -> Barrel finds Data and Trigger's reset form inside Nino Island Ruins. He names the baby Rock as a pun on his granddaughters name. Trigger adopted by Barrel. -> Roll's parents enter forbidden island. (10 years before Legends2)) -> Roll's father, Banner is saved (by Yuna?) and ends up at Yosyonke, Banner lost his memory and takes on the name Joe, his arm is replaced with a mechanical one. (10 years before Legends2) Roll's mother Matilda near death, is saved by Yuna, she repairs Matilda's body but is forced to use it as her own. (10 years before Legends2)
For organization's sake, wouldn't it make more sense to separate all the 10-years-before-L2 events into their own category?  It's odd listing all of that under the same entry as the births of characters who, at that time, should be in the 4-5 range.

Quote
X^X AD - Legends2, "Episode 2: Great Legacy" (The year changed since Legends1)
Unless the Japanese version is different, you may want to specify "next calendar year."  "year changed" could mean multiple years, but Roll refers to the events of L1 as last year.

Quote
There is a high probability that the blue hero was MegaMan Trigger attempting to destroy the System. Juno's actions are not in violation of orders and thus not Aberrant behavior. Juno has met Trigger before, he knows of Trigger's status and knows how he should look, still he acts hastily in favor of terminating his superior who has lost his memory in the reset. Eden is unaware of Trigger becoming an Aberrant, Juno may or may not be unaware. Battle between Trigger and Juno might be the reason why Juno is sleeping in the main gate and not actively monitoring the carbon population, though one must conclude in that scenario that even Trigger failed to stop Eden from killing the carbon population on the island.

Juno is unaware of Trigger's aberrant status.  He notes that further action from Trigger will go on file by Eden and tarnish his operating record.  If Trigger was aberrant, his actions against Juno shouldn't have any bearing on that.  Furthermore, Juno notes that Trigger is under the direct command of Mother.  Again, if Trigger is aberrant, this is no longer true.  Repairing/restoring an aberrant unit is also unheard of within Legends, making it very odd for Juno to be seeking a backup of Trigger's memory with Eden.  Yuna states within L2 that as a Purifier, Trigger's duty was to "hunt down and destroy all aberrant units."  Trigger's memory loss may be news to Juno, but if he knew that Trigger was aberrant beforehand, he should not be attempting to restore it.  He has every right to terminate Trigger right there.

Or rather, he would have if not for one little thing.  Trigger, since becoming aberrant, is in possession of the Master's genetic sample.  If Juno knew this, terminating Trigger and risking its destruction would not be acceptable without authorization from all active Mother units (Sera was not to destroy it without consulting Yuna in L2, if not for the fact that Yuna was no longer recognized by the System).  But he attempts it all the same after Eden is activated.  Talk about tarnishing one's operating record.  Juno's first duty should have been to retrieve the genetic sample while Trigger was disabled, and he walked away.

Also, Juno's sleeping was planned.  He himself expected to wake at a particular time, Trigger merely woke him earlier than expected.

Finally, Trigger's word carries a lot of weight within the System, Data being able to interrupt Eden's command and DELETE (as opposed to quarantine?) Juno's backup data in Trigger's name.  The topic of whether or not Juno is actually aberrant is never brought up, Trigger's word is accepted on that point.  Juno's justification for attacking Trigger is that Trigger is suffering memory loss, not that Trigger took any inappropriate action.

For all these reasons, the painting in Kattelox museum most likely does not depict Trigger.  Rather it's an easter-egg pointing at the recurring theme of a blue armored hero.  Such a battle against Juno took place, that in no way means Trigger was the one to fight it.

Quote
-Alternate English Version Event: Barrel finds Data and Trigger's reset form inside Nino Island Ruins. Roll demands baby be named "MegaMan," after her favorite videogame character, despite Barrel's wishes. Trigger adopted by Barrel.
You may want to have japanese and english equivalents near each other.

Gaming / Re: Obligatory Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum thread
« on: November 09, 2008, 06:12:43 PM »
Late-night typing strikes again.  Thread title edited.

Yea, the Johto pokemon are. (fill the entire nationwide pokedex AND beat the game for your choice for Totidile, Chickorita, and Quilava, applies to Pokemon Emerald as well) Newsflash, get the dang GCN games, you can port them over to your GBA and when you get them, over your DS.
As time goes on this is getting to be more and more of a hoop to jump through.  GCN/Wii-to-GBA-to-DS transfers require a lot of hardware.  The DSi, once it takes off, will put the lid on GBA-to-DS transfers, as well.  And I'm *STILL* waiting to get my Crystal Extremespeed Dragonite back.

So, yeah, there's plenty reason to pursue a G/S remake, besides the sheer fanboyish value that will guarantee awesome sales.  As a sidenote, perhaps in anticipation of the DSi monkey wrench, the Kanto and Hoenn legendary trios were made available in Platinum (granted the Regis require a movie event, but still).  Some previously Pal Park/W-Slot exclusive Pokemon are included as well, such as Scyther.  If they are trying to ease up on the Slot-2-only 'mans, they've skipped ALL G/S legends.

A reminder to everyone:
If you missed the info from before the board crash, the Toys R Us Level 50 Dragonite giveaway is this very weekend, noon to 4 on Saturday and Sunday.

And you'd better believe I got my DRAGONITE POWER today! 8)  My first Cherish Ball Pokemon, and he is awesome.  Every IV is 22 or above.

I'll be looking for opponents to try out a team revision.  If anyone's up for a match, let me know.

Hey, Vix, some time ago in the Pokemon Diamond/Peal thread (I don't remember the exact thread name or the starter), I went on a mini-rant about Hidden Power and calculated the odds of actually getting the appropriate Hidden Power on a tournament-viable Pokemon.

That was a nice resource, but I used the forum search when needed and foolishly never saved to TXT.  If it's at all possible to fish that post up (I don't talk about Hidden Power often, so hopefully a text search should suffice), I'd appreciate it.

Gaming / Re: Nintendo Wi-Fi Friend Codes (under new management)
« on: November 09, 2008, 06:15:55 AM »
protip, my FC up there is for Ryuusei 2, not starfail. don't even try to add it.
also i don't have that copy of either Rune Factory or Ryuusei.
Other Protip:
Unless someone was editing the post in my stead, I need to know username changes.

Yet Another Protip:
I do not personally research every Nintendo wifi game to exist.  Wifi is typically not region-locked, and in such cases I don't give a damn what title you go by, listing the same game multiple times will only cause confusion.  If it is region-locked, or was removed altogether in localization, then someone needs to cue me in.

Hyper's note on NNIDs:
1.The WiiU's "Friend List" button will search ALL IDs and allow a friend request whether the user has a WiiU or not (if they don't have a WiiU, they'll never receive the request).
2. Searching in Miiverse will only pull up Miiverse users, but Miiverse will tell you what systems the person has.  You can, from your WiiU, send friend requests through Miiverse only if the other person also has a WiiU.  You cannot send 3DS friend requests through Miiverse, but you can still Follow people who have only a 3DS.
