Then, you have found the hidden portal to Wacky Land.

What if the fate of the world was always decided by a children's card game?

That sounds like one of those teachers that is just there to make a paycheck and nothing else.  I get so tired of those types of teachers really quickly.

I share your pain.  Group projects are only good if you are graded individually on the amount of work you put into it.  That's fair.  They're bad and completely pointless when you get a group grade.  That's unfair.  One or two people do all the work while the rest mooch off those hard workers.  I would be the kid that does all the work that my group members reap benefit from.  Sounds like that's going to be your job.  Hang in there, though.

If you have to cover research papers, here's a little idea from my freshman year of high school.  My English teacher put together this little research project we had to do called "I-Search."  She fixed together a packet giving step-by-step instructions for writing a research paper.  The kicker was that we could pick anything we wanted to research (barring her approval) and we had to talk about our project for eight minutes in front of the class.  Costumes were encouraged and anything that could add excitement to the project was definitely encouraged.  The projects I remember seeing ranged from fashion shows to guitar companies.  I did mine on Jimi Hendrix.  I dressed up in his Woodstock outfit and brought my electric guitar and amp to school to play Foxy Lady...and talk about his history, of course. XD

That's just an idea.  You can take what you want from it.
