X / Would Rockman X Benefit from having a better and heavy plot?

Hi guys.
I am a huge of fan of heavy and deep plots. I was wondering if the X series would benefit more if it had a more heavy and deep plot to it.

What i mean by that is, having something like revealing each past of the boss and maybe showing their relationship with other hunters and X himself. Making Sigmas betrayal look more evil and deep.

 Instead of having a virus, i think the first X game would have made much more sense  and been better if the reploids did it out of free will.

I would like to see a transition of a Heroic Commander to a Power hungry Tyrant. Also it would be nice if Sigma was a Mentor to a X and X admired him before he started a rebellion.

It would develop X better.

If reploids did it out of free will then i would like to see X struggle between which side he should fight for.

It would be also interesting to see Zero turn into a hunter because the virus would not exist, he would be hard to capture, so i would like to see X going against Zero and making him into a hunter.

Maybe if Zero was unstable, then he would be in a reploid cognitive repair centre , where the scientists are trying to fix his bug which makes him go insane.

I would also like it better if X was helping Zero recover and train him into a hunter. It would make their friendship better and would equally develop them better.

Anyway, what about you guys? Would you think a better story would benefit the X series a bit more.

X / Why do some people hate/dislike the PSX-era Rockman X games more?

Hi guys.

I wanted to ask one thing. I noticed some people hate/dislike the PSX-era Rockman X games. I want to ask why is that? I love all the Rockman X games equally (Excluding X7. That was OK). I loved the Super Famicon games because i loved the music , sprites and gameplay. Everything was perfect. I had those same feeling for the PSX games. Maybe i did not like X5 much because of Alia. But other than that i loved the PSX-era games. X6 was special for me  <3. X4 was amazing and really well made out of the first three because it was really high quality made (I played Rockman X4 so i did not suffer the bad voice acting in Megaman X4). I feel like i do for X4 for all three of them.

I can understand that some people hated the 3D static backgrounds and platforms which i can understand. Other than that i see no reason why they are hated/disliked. I liked The sprites, backgrounds and music. (The Music is superbly phenomenal).

I would like to hear why some of you guys dislike/hate them.

Fan Games / Rockman X Fan Game Ideas.

Hi guys, its nice to see you all.

About a Year Ago i had bought MMF2 Developer and have been practising my skills up to now. I did it solely for Rockman because i love him a lot and he is Amazing. So now i think my skills should be able to create a really high quality fan game. Its my first time making a Rockman fan game but that doesn't mean i will go for something simple.

So i thought about making a very high quality fan game for Rockman ( X specifically ). I got as much advise as possible from developers alike and learned a lot more about game developing as well as the roles, and also how difficult and long it is. Since making a game is not something that could be accomplished in a month or two. It takes almost two or more years to complete something really high and triple AAA. I am ready to accept those consequences and sleepless nights. Because i will devote my self to this project for Rockman since he is one of my Heroes that i adore.


So with that said, i would love your guys ideas and opinions on what you want in the game.

Here are my ideas:

Story:
The story is set after X8, there is peace on earth between Reploids and Humans. However, it only lasts for a short time. Reploids due to a unatural event started to evolve further and started to become as complex as humans. Most would think that it would be a wonderful thing, but it is quite the opposite. Reploids due to their higher inteligence and strength have gotten more jobs then humans. They are better at: Construction, Politics, Education and many more. Humans starting to realize how better reploids are decided to give out one order: *Retire all reploids*.  The world peace committee which governs over the world which consists of humans decided to accept this due to numerous humans living in poverty. Most reploids had agreed to that because they loved their masters a lot which had given them life in the first place. X agreed to this and wanted everlasting peace even if it means decomissioning himself.

The reploids had one month before they were decommissioned. During this time, one Reploid disagreed fully and said that reploids lives are just as important as humans, he believed in the notion of Reploids and Humans living together. The World Peace Committee decided that he is dangerous and should be decommissioned quickly. Luckily he escaped and managed to have a large amount of reploids on his side. One of them being Zero. Zero also believed there was another way to this but if the humans want to kill all reploids then he wont allow it. The world peace commitee regarded the rebelion led by the mysterious reploid as a act of an Irregular. With X agreeing, he goes to stop the rebellion. Which he will also have to face Zero. The rebelion aims to stop the destruction of all reploids while trying not to harm or kill many humans.

X as he fights starts to realize the dangerous side of himself that Dr.Light had mentioned. Everything is not as it seems in this final chapter of the X series.
Will X be a threat to all life or will he be the protector of all life.

Game play:
-Rage/Threat Bar, when it is full. The bad side of X starts to awaken.
-Shining Finger Attack which analyzes the enemy and absorbs their energy and data which can be used to upgrade:
Armours, Boss weapons and movement Skills.
-Downward Dash which causes a mini explosion upon impact. Can be upgraded .
-Reploid Enemies that have much more advanced AI and chase you some times.
-No stage select. Metroid Style exploration with some tweaks such as a world map and more.
-Bosses react differently when they are in different areas.
-Hunting Style missions. Getting a mission explanation and finding the boss depending on which area he is in.
-Side selection. throughout the game you can choose which path to take. The rebelion or the humans.
-Multiple endings.
-A new character.
-Deep story with plot twists.
-Visual novel style story telling because it is the best style for heavy story telling.
-Character interactions. Interact with characters while in the base to know them better.
-Armour colour customization.
-Combine armour parts. For example: Combine Ultimate Armour and Falcon Armours busters to make the falcon shot fast powerful or the ultimate shot spilt into three shots.
-Zero is unlock able.
-Give X equal story and character development like Zero.
-Explore X's past and find more secrets about him.
-VAVAs mysterious appearance.
-Ride armour hangar which can be deployed on special mission only.
-Unexpected Final Boss ( Not Sigma ).
-Axl will be in it.

Those are my ideas which i have been thinking about for a long time and seem do-able in MMF2. What about you guys?

Original / What will push Rockman Original forward?

Hi guys.

After replaying all the Rockman Series, i looked at the original and thought to myself on how it could be pushed forward. What i mean is how can it evolve a little more. How can it improve the formula and evolve the series further. What could make it go forward and not backwards.

I would like your thoughts and ideas about this.

X / Infinite Dash Upgrade, A good idea or bad idea?

Hi guys, i was playing Rockman X4 the other day and i played through Magma Dragoons stage and re-imagined playing it with a infinite dash. So then i played all thee others and thought to myself that maybe it would a kind of cool idea. Its better than spamming the dash key but at the same time i think it makes the games too easy.

What do you guys think? I would like to discuss with you guys about this.

X / Which X games should be re-made if you had the chance?

Hi guys its me again  :). I am replaying the whole Rockman Series in chronological order ( 3rd Time. I am Rockman Holic 8) ) and as i played through the X series i was thinking which X games should be remade. I quickly thought of X5 and X8 ( I already talked about Rockman X7 in my other thread ) because there are some things i didn't really like about both.

X5:
What i didn't like:
*The story was bad and had bad writing.
*The stages felt bland and boring.
*The Bosses were not much of a challenge for me even on extreme mode ( Excluding Shadow Devil and Sigma ).
*The atmosphere felt depressive.
*Not much attention for X. ( The same with X4 and X6 ).
*Some non-canon endings. ( X's ending )
*Tidal Makkoeens boring stage.
*Alia interrupting you when bursts through a stage.
*No VAVA  o//////o ( same applies to X4,X6 and X7. )

What needs to be improved and added:
-Stage re-design.
-Story should be altered so that it would suit X6 more.
-Give X equal attention instead of only Zero having attention.
-Maybe add GOOD voice acting ( Voice acting can be your choice ).
-Animated Sequences after each boss fight to unravel the story more.
-Boss select and dialogue re-design.
-Keep Armors from X2 and X3.
-VAVA  B(.

X8:
*Some stages weren't as good as they were.
*The ugly graphics.
*The Navigators are kind of useless sometimes.
*Repetitive Game play.
*No back story about Axl or who created him.

What it needs improved or added:
-A improved version of Rockman X7 with drastic changes and improvements.
-Better Stages.
-Improved Cell shaded X7 graphics.
-Make the navigators more useful.
-Give more back story and better dialogue to Axl.

Those are the games which i think should be remade. I think it would be nice for X8 to be a better version of X7 with new features. X5 for me had a lot of problems.

But maybe its just me. Anyway which games do you guys think should be remade chance?

X / X not getting much as much attention as Zero?

Sometimes i feel that after X4 (Maybe X3) that X didn't get too much story as a character. I felt that there was more attention to Zero rather than X.
Zero had someone he really cared about and felt more than sad when he had to kill her.

In X4 there was mostly Zeros past that was revealed. While X had to fight a spy and there was no cut-scene or mention of his past. They should mention X's past before he was an irregular hunter or when he was found by doctor Cain and he should also have someone or something special that he cares about deeply like Iris which Zero had.

Also in X5 i felt it was definitely more about Zero rather than X. Since it was about Zero handling the virus and realizing that he cannot be infected but the people around (Except X) could. X6, despite the fact you have to unlock Zero. Once you unlock Zero, it is focused more on him since Gate used his DNA to power himself up. Isoc also mostly talks about Zero and knows a lot about Zero, it has been speculated that he may be Wily.

Then in X7, X was an unlock-able character and his character development flew out of the window since he is a strong pacifist that doesn't want to fight (until you unlock him) and this time it was focused more on Axl which is acceptable and there's no problem with that because he was a new character that was introduced,

In X8 it was equal since everyone got an equal amount of attention.

But for the majority Zero gets more attention than X. Its not that i dislike Zero since he is my second favorite character and i mostly play as him. But in the end i think X got much less attention then Zero.

Anyway I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions on this. i like discussing with you guys.   :)

Hi fan game developers.

I saw a lot of classic Rockman fan games on this forum and i will say they are really good. But they are all the same (no offense meant). I am sorry if i upset you or angered you but most of the Classic Rockman games are 8-bit and have the same jump and shoot objective. This is kind of getting repetitive and old.

The Classic Rockman fan games i saw hear aren't really different from the classic games on the Famicon/NES and R9 and R10. The difference would be story and new weapons. I also do know hard and difficult game development is (especially on your own) since i am a game developer who has had a lot of sleepless nights and headaches.

But can you guys maybe be more ambitious and maybe do something different to the Classic Series. The reason why its mainly the classic series is because most if not all of the fan games i saw are the same but use a different skin. It doesn't mean their bad but it means that its already been done.

The X series fan games are different and (no offense) but the devs who work on the X series put more ambition. For example JKBs Rockman X Corrupted is really amazing because of its innovation and new ideas such as the exploration,mixing armors,side quests and a Rpg system.Green Biker Dude was something really nice innovative and different.

I understand that making a game is a very long and hard process but in the end the accomplishment feels great and more people would be willing to play. I also know that making a game may take more than 2 years but i think the longer the game is in development, the more better it will be.

I am not saying your games are bad since i played most of them and they are really good but i do think you guys should do something different.

Original / Is anyone kind of getting tired of 8-bit Rockman fan games?

Hi guys. Today i saw some Rockman fan games like:
*Rockman Unlimited.
*Rockman Forever.
*Rockman 7 FC.
*Rockman 3D (Although the sprites are 8-bit).
*Rockman Multiplayer.
*Rockman 8 FC.
*Rockman Perfect Harmony.
*Rockman Revolution.
*Rockman Triple Threat.
*Rockman Rocks.
*Rockman DASH 2D.

I have noticed that all but one of these fan games are just the same, but with different skins.
No offense to people who like the 8-bit fan games, but i dont find it really exciting since its been done about 26 Years ago. Dont get me wrong because i love the 8 bit games and still play them to this day ( Maybe i didnt like 10 as much ) but seing a lot of people just doing the same 8-bit graphics and gameplay is just getting kind of old for me since i can just go and play Rockman 1,2,3,4,5,6,9,10 ( 10 was okay). But when its a fan game i would like it to be something different like Rockman Triple Threat. But i will say Rockman unlimited was pretty cool and well made so i wont say that all of them bore me.

Anyway i would like to hear what you guys think on fan 8-bit games.

X / What would improve Rockman X7.

Hi guys its me as usual. I played Rockman X7 yesterday and thought to myself:`What would make Rockman X7 a lot better?`. So i decided to discuss it with you guys because i like discussing with you guys. So if you were to change Rockman X7, what would you change.

I would Change:
*The frame rate.
*The graphics a little bit.
*The 3D sections. They needed a lot of fixing especially the wall jump and do the transitions a bit better.
*Dual Voice acting. I hate the English voices for X7 .  The Japanese voices were excellent for X7
*Maybe the story a little bit.
*Make X THE MAIN CHARACTER, i cannot believe how they got that wrong.
*Make the boss battles a little more exciting and less annoying ( Burn, Burn, Burn to the Ground !)
*Improve Axl`s gameplay and include his story ( Especially his past)
*Make X less overpowered.
*Better design. I didn't like the enemies , they looked bland to me.
*Make A-trans useful.
*Maybe a 3D and 2D switch.

Thats what i would change. What about you guys, i would like to hear your opinions.

Original / Why do people hate Rockman 7 so much?

Hi guys. I was wondering, why do some of you hate or dislike Rockman 7? I don't see anything wrong with it really, to be honest its my third favorite Rockman Game. It had a great soundtrack,gameplay,bosses and difficulty ( i am a lover of hard games that kick your ass). I would like to hear your thoughts and ideas.

X / Could Doctor Light be a prototype-Cyber Elf.

Sometimes in the X series, whenever i go to a armor capsule. I always think that Dr Light could maybe be a cyber elf because there would be no way for him to predict the events that happen in the X series so far. For example Zero allying himself with X or when Zero encounters a armor capsule and how Dr light seems to know about Zero amazes me.

Thats why i think he is maybe a cyber elf due since it would be impossible for him to see the future so much unless he has psychic powers. What do you guys think?

X / What would the story for Rockman X9 be?

Hi everyone i am new to the forums , nice to meet you all. I was wondering , what would if Rockman X9 was made? (i dont know if it will happen because of CAPCOM right now  :( )   I would like to know your opinions/thoughts on how the game would be.
