Gaming / Re: Castlevania
« on: January 08, 2009, 04:52:58 AM »
Just finished Order Of Ecclesia last night.  Pretty good, but I think I liked Portrait better. (and Dawn and Aria have a better system for acquiring different powers imo)  Music is still good but not quite as memorable as Dawn and Portrait. (Giant's Dwelling reminded me of a better Circle of the Moon tune, which was awesome)  Oh also?  Albus mode kinda sucks.  I mean yeah he's powerful, but the fact that you are planted to the ground whenever you use your basic shot(which is most of the time!)is pretty annoying, and makes him feel a little sluggish in contrast to other Castlevania characters.  I'm having to jump all over the place whenever I want to shoot enemies, otherwise I end up standing still, shooting, moving, standing still, shooting, and then moving again.  Not very fluid, like Shanoa is.

See that's the thing, I can't find those folders when I connect my PSP to my laptop.  The only folder that appears is called "PSP."  In this folder are all the saved data for my games.

Gaming / Question about transferring files to my PSP
« on: January 03, 2009, 07:44:12 AM »
Hey, I'm trying to transfer my wallpapers from my laptop onto my PSP so I can use one of those wallpapers as my PSP wallpaper.  Here's the thing: I have a USB wire, connect it to my laptop and PSP, hit the USB option on my PSP and the PSP files appear on my laptop.  I drag the wallpapers onto my PSP drive, take the cord out, and I don't know where I can get these wallpapers on my PSP or if they are even on my system.  When I try to change my wallpaper it doesn't give me any new options.

Also does anyone know if you can transfer itunes mp3 files to a PSP through a USB cable?  Thanks.

I didn't even bother finishing, I was so horrified with what I was playing.
Same, I stopped after 5 minutes.

I enjoy these almost as much as I enjoy the Powered Up fanarts.

So I finally got to play Unleashed last night since the demo is now on Xbox Live (after it's release which makes so much sense) and frankly GameSpot wasn't all that far off with their review.  About 30 seconds into playing it everything fell apart.  Yes, going really blinking fast is what Sonic is all about and is fun as hell, but not when your have little to no control whether you hit a wall or not, instantly stopping that blissful feeling of speed.  And this happened more times than not.

What Sonic Unleashed delivered was what Sega has been delivering for years: very pretty graphics and a horrible mess of a game.  That's all I needed to rest assured that I never touch this game again.

This guy's (http://guiltism.x0.com/) stuff is wicked sweet.  I love how they show the process sketches that came before the finished piece.  Makes me realize these japanese fan artists aren't super immortal art gods after all.  I LOVE how the Zero model came out.  The eyes could be better (bit too big) but the overall design is brilliant.  Jazwares could've learned a thing or two from artists like him.  Here are his character sheets he used for the MegaMan(Rockman)9 poster he did: (his Shadow MegaMan is awesome)

I wish I remembered the artist...
Meh.  I could probably draw that.

Notice the lower right-hand corner? It seems SEGA is making the storybook based Sonic games an ongoing spin-off series.

I hate to say it but that is some pretty sweet box art.  Still, this game will suck, because it is Sonic, recent, and not 2-D.

Probably the only game asides Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep that I'm looking forward to in '09.  It's being made by the brilliant minds of Tim Schafer and Double Fine, their previous game being Psychonauts.  For those who didn't play or buy Psychonauts go punch yourself in the crotch right now.

First trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WYH2sFCGvE    (It's been said that everything you see in this teaser can be done in the game  :V)

Video Game Awards trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM5lMHbq9j8 (DOUBLE FIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE)

Also well as Jack Black voicing the main character (Eddie Riggs) it's been confirmed that Lemmy Kilmister (who's playing a character named Kill Master  8D) bassist/vocalist of Motorhead, Rob Halford vocalist of Judas Priest, and Ronnie James Dio who was in Black Sabbath will be in it.  More Hollywood voice actors/metal stars have yet to be announced.  Here's hoping Kyle Gas and Dave Grohl make it in.  8)

So yeah.  Pretty pumped for this.

All I know is the artist username "Kinniku" (Spelled in Japanese) in the Pixiv website, I don't know how to contact him or his thinking to do that further.
Do you have a link to his profile?  I don't mind if it's not in english.

Question to Milen:
I see you name pop up a lot on Akibakko posts.  Your name has appeared under all of the fanarts of Rockman Rockman 2, 3, and 4.  This is what I speak of:

My question is this:  Do you have any idea who this artist is and any way of contacting them?  If you don't, then where do you find these magnificent pieces of work?  If you DO know them, are they planning to do 6,7,8 and 9?  Maybe even the Stardriods? (pleeeeeeeeeease?  :V)
Thanks a bunch.

I think it's funny how some kid thought up the Rush Cycle way back in 1992.  8D
Also, apprently Wind Man was one of the winners.  I also remember Knight Man being the other only American robot master contest winner for MegaMan 6, but then where is he on those pages???  Also, for funny:
