Title: Megaman 10 - Attack Plan from Outer Space!
Post by: HyperSonicEXE on February 28, 2010, 04:29:37 AM
Also, post what you think the weakness cycle will be.

Sheep > Pump > Solar > Chill > Nitro > Strike > Blade > Commando > Sheep

or

Sheep > Commando > Chill > Solar > Nitro > Pump > Blade > Strike > Sheep

I just see Thunder Wool tearing through the Water Shield. And I think the spikes left behind by Chill Spike were meant for Nitro Man's tires. Riding up the wall with Wheel Cutter makes it almost impossible to guess, and I have no idea what Triple Blade's supposed to beat.

Don't know what the Weakness list may be but I know I'll start with Chill. His level looks like it'll be the easiest to complete.

Either Sheep or Pump Man.

Cool avatar, BTW, Jace!
"Robots?! Well come on, let's boogaloo!"

I want to start with Pump Man. Would give me a nice shield, but don't have a solid clue who it beats. Pretty sure it's Solar Man, although it counters Blade Man's strategy nicely.

Strike Man is a nice idea too. To test if his weapon is really as broken as it sounds.

And that makes me want to try Nitro Man's stage because it looks like frantic fun and to get Wall Cutter.

...I mean Wheel Climber.

...GAH!

I don't know why but I get the feeling Triple Blade is going to beat Pump Man for some reason. I really wish I knew why.

And Aldo, thanks for that. Old TMNT is awesome.

It would get rid of each water ball three at a time.

And hells yeah! I've got the first five eps. on DVD and watch them regularly!

... Time to pull out what I said in another thread...
HMMM... A water-style shield weapon? HMM...

Actually, those are pretty nifty designs, me likey.
And now, it's time to speculate the weakness cycle! XD
I'm going with...
Commando blasts away Chill freezes up Solar dries up Pump splashes Sheep shocks Nitro speeds past Strike curve balls Blade slices up Commando.
Title: Re: Megaman 10 - Attack Plan from Outer Space!
Post by: ST Jestah on February 28, 2010, 05:35:24 PM
I'll start with either Chill Man or Solar Man. Chill because he gives me the feeling that he will be the easiest, and Solar...I just don't like Solar and wanna blow him up as fast as possible.

As for the weakness cycle...hmm

Chill freezes Pump's Shield, Who douses Solar's Generator, That burns away Strikes baseballs, Which he uses to bean Sheep, That uses his clouds to electrocute Blade, Who pokes a hole in Nitro's wheel, Who shreds Commando's heavy armor, Who ends this cycle by blowing up Chill to smitherings.

That's another thing, too; since Sheep Man goes airborne, his could be Triple Blade, Rebound Striker, or Commando Bomb.
Title: Re: Megaman 10 - Attack Plan from Outer Space!
Post by: DjKlzonez on February 28, 2010, 06:49:17 PM
I'll start with Sheepman, because i want to hear his music as fast as possible (without those stupid game testers dying every 5 seconds)

As for the enemy cycle... i guess Solar>Chill>Nitro>Sheep>Blade>Strike>Commando>Pump ?
That's another thing, too; since Sheep Man goes airborne, his could be Triple Blade, Rebound Striker, or Commando Bomb.
I don't think so, if the enemy goes airbone, his weakness doesn't (ex. MM9 Plug>Tornado)

Ah, but Plug's weapon did go up the wall.

Good point regardless.

I'm starting with Sheep Man because he LOOKS easy. If I get a weapon from a Robot Master, I'm probably going to try to find the weakness cycle by myself.

Well, Vixy's soundtrack rip convinced me.

I'm starting with Nitro Man. That's my favorite song thus far; I can't believe it's not Wily 1. And the stage looks like it's heart stopping fun.

WHEEL CUTTER, HERE I COME!

Well, I'll go out on a limb here and start with Blade Man. That castle mini-boss is too good to pass up! [eyebrow]

That, and I won't fall into the trap of starting with the silly-looking (well, silliest) one.

If I buy Wii - I will start from... Solar. I wanna hear his theme.

Wild guess...
Chill>Nitro>Sheep>Blade>Strike>Solar>Pump >Commando>

Chill Spike flats Nitro's Tire

Wheel Cutter shreds Sheep's cloud Fur

Thunder Wool shocks Blade

Throw Blade slices up Strikes Balls

Shoot the Rebound Ball in Solar Ring  8D

Solar Wave droughts Pump Man's Water Supply

Water Shield corrodes Commandos tough exterior

Commando Bomb Shatters Chill

Chill > Nitro > Commando > Blade > Strike > Sheep > Pump > Solar
I was trying to think outside the box but in the end common sense prevails. I did get Blade > Strike though.  XD

Chill > Nitro is obvious.

Don't know if it beats MM9's music but MM10 definitely has way very interesting approach in it's music department than 9. The Tunes are good all in all.

My top 3 picks are Nitro, Chill, & WS3 (http://www.mediafire.com/?i1fqttnzmzd)! I put an effort to edit it so I can listen it nonstop in my mp3 player. Might as well share it. ^^

I did notice one nice bug though for getting past the sand storms for the speed runners out there. Use rush jet to get above the screen and the sandstorm won't slow you down at all. Not to mention it's a lot easier to get past the area. =P

THEY WEREN'T F***ING AROUND WITH THE BOSS THEMES.

Jesus Christ... the music in this game is... atrocious.
And I'm not talking about it being "8-bit"... I'm talking about it sounding horrible.
Additionally, Forte's sprites are just edits of Lokkuman.
I just hope, the game's good. Maybe I'll convince that one [Top Spin] in my vicinity to get this.

It doesn't sound horrible.
Horrible is reserved for Mega Man II (GB)
That [parasitic bomb] is horrible.
This music however, is just different, it's got more of a Rockman and Forte style to it on a lot of tunes, like Sheep Man's stage.

I think it sounds a lot better than RM&F, frankly.

The only tune in 10 that I'd call "unfitting" would be the menu theme, because Classic MegaMan menu themes tend to have a very light-hearted sound to them.  Maybe the third Castle theme I didn't care for too much, but as a whole I thought the soundtrack was very impressive.

Yeah, I like it better than RM&F, aside from a few themes, like Strike Man's theme.
To me, it sounds like a [tornado fang]ing mess.

I find Strike's theme to be quite fitting actually, happens to be on of my faves too.

Personally, the only theme I disliked in 10 is Chill Man's, THAT is mess of a tune.

Ironically, that happens to be my personal favorite!  I also like the Kirby feel that Sheep Man's tune has.

So far, the only music I find out of place is the one in Nitro Man's stage. I like Solar Man's a lot though. Strike Man's music is the one that sounds "8-bit".

This is what happens when you have too many composers. They should have stuck with Just the two guys from the last game. And Infaking should have co-directed this one too. He sat it out on this one and let the other guy take it on.

The music is great imo. Its darker than usual, and so is some of the stage settings. It has a very MM3 like atmosphere overall.

So far I'm pretty impressed with the boss abilities and weapons. While not as useful as MM9's, their usefulness is not to be underestimated. They have a more tactical/assist advantage than 9's brute force weapons.

The ending was fairly disappointing for me though. MM9's was way better. Spoiler for why I didn't like it as much;
"Oh no Dr Wily did you get the robot-only illness?!" "No you [tornado fang]ing moron, I'm a human!" And then there was one boring cut-scene image with no characters in it, and NO SPECIAL BOSS PORTRAITS/IMAGES IN THE CREDITS.
Everyone seems to have different opinions on the music this time around, I guess it might have something to do with the varying styles present in each tune.

What I love about MM10's music is the unique sound to all of the tracks when you compare it to the previous game.  It kinda reminds me of how MM3's music sounded after MM2, or how MM5's music sounded after MM4.  In this game, like the games I mentioned, they seemed to take a new direction with the soundtrack and added somewhat new instruments, like in SolarMan's stage for example.  It's like when hearing GravityMan's stage for the first time in MM5 and comparing it to almost any track from MM4.  Now whether you like it or not is completely up to the ear of BeholderMan.  Personally, I'm a huge fan of it.  I might prefer MM9's soundtrack more in terms of certain things.  For example, MM9's Final Wily Machine Theme is still the best there is, and I like it more than MM10's Pirate Wily theme.  On the other hand, after listening to it more and more, I think I like MM10's Wily Stage II theme better than all the MM9 Wily Stage themes.  Overall, I'm very happy with the MM10 soundtrack, and can't wait till MM11's soundtrack and DLC 8-Bit Playable Roll.

But of course, it cannot be perfect and some group of people will [sonic slicer] and complain about at least ONE of the tracks being "butchered" in some way, like they did with Tornado Man's track on the MM9 AST. XD

Yes. I know exactly what you mean PB. I rather like the shifting of atmosphere giving things a different feeling game to game. I was worried MM10 may have been simply a money maker riding on MM9's fame, but it really stands out on its own very well.

Again, I actually really like the AST version of TornadoMan's theme.  The only one I didn't really care for all that much was the AST of Flash in the Dark.

Post by: Protoman Blues on March 04, 2010, 06:28:05 AM
I wasn't upset by it really.  I just didn't think it was arranged that well.  In all honestly, I think an acoustic guitar would've worked a lot better, similar to how the Megas did an acoustic version of their songs.

Yeah, I think that would have been nice.
The only track I can say with certainty that I don't like from the AST is the boss battle theme, I really can't stand that kind of music, at all.
So I was disappoint with it.

Tough, I'll admit... I kind of liked the last(I think so) Wily Stage music, the moment I heard it. It's the one, which is like dem pigs...in SPAAACEEEEEE.

I found one interesting detail. I watched RM9 and RM10 trailers. We know, that track in trailers - is Tornado's and Nitro's themes. And in those trailers Capcom showing to us sillhoutes( or how spelling this word?) of RM...so..Tornado man and Nitro man are fourth in trailers (RM9 - Splash, Galaxy, Concrete, Tornado, Plug, Jewel, Magma. RM10 - Strike, Sheep, Pump, Nitro, Solar, Chill, Commando, Blade)
So..if Capcom will make a RM11, a trailer track will be a fourth Robot Master theme

I can just hear Wily Stage II redone in MMX2 instruments. It even SOUNDS like it was composed by the X series composer.
