We haven't heard anything about the ZX series in years. Is it dead yet?

Nah, it's not dead, They will just tease us for years to come with spinoffs, fighting games including Zx characters just to, a dozens of years later, release an official sequel...or not.

Personally, I think X deserves the fighting game appearance for a bit. Megaman had his in MVC 1 and 2, EXE and Z series Zero had it in Onimusha, and Trigger and Classic Roll in Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. I think X deserves a shot.

Inti-Creates did produce 3 games after ZX.

Well the chance is bigger for me to play ZX3 then X9 or Legends (if they plan to bring them on a console)

Having the big finish for a series does take awhile to make, I'll give you that. somehow, Inti needs thier own origional series if they were wrap up ZX. Ironic that Doreamon still airs at a certain time of the day in ecuador, and inti has a game for him. :\

If you look at the time between each game's release, it's obvious they had both series' planned earlier than expected. Right after X5 and/or X6. Zero's X6 ending (that you all know takes place very, very late in the X series), had to be shown earlier than expected, so the Zero and ZX series' could be made. And stuff. >v< </wii>

I think it also work with how much profit a game brings to the company. So if the profit that ZXA created was low, even if there's a cliffhanger, Capcom won't give the green light for a sequel. Then again, I absolutely have no idea how much ZXA created...

If that's the case, why not have US exclusive to ZX3 since there's quite the demand for it?
Capcom makes Japan only exclusives every so often, so why not here?

Because they'd still have to make the whole game and there'd be a demand on both sides. I don't think exclusives happen except when it's something completely new that noone overseas is likely to care about (or more importantly, buy).

Honestly I say since it took 11 years for us to get Mega Man 9 obviously we'll get Legends 3 in 2 years. So sorry you guys got 9 more years for ZX 3. =P

That guy at 0:15 minutes in is actually faking it. And no I'm not a hueg star trek fan, that's from one episode I watched and I just remember it very well.
And Capcom just loves the EXE series more than the classic timeline.

I must admitt that ZXA was also REALLY underated, like that epic Final Boss fight.. it's so unheard of, but it was so great!

Why not? MegaMan's generally been best received on Nintendo's platforms.

How many series failed elsewhere? X, MHX, PU, Legends.
Nintendo is oldschool and MegaMan is oldschool. I don't think it's any stretch that there'd be a correlation in the userbase, especially since at the release of MHX/PU the phrase, "I'd buy those if I had a PSP" was freaking everywhere on the internet. The sooner Capcom realizes that, the better.

Any news, rumors about ZX3? I love the Series... I bought the Japanese Version of Both also the EU Version of both. Because i was really sad as Zero disappeared at Zero4 (or died what else) because he was my Hero since Childhood and also was a special role in my real life. Because that at all I did write my own storys also with a new Hero the better Version of Zero so because it was Rockman then Rockman X so i did similiar create ZeroX. So I was really excited as Rockman ZX was coming I just thought "OMG my own created Hero got his own Storyline!" and now to see in end like this makes me even more sad. =( after all I just have left a little flame of hope.... but it looks like it really ended now.....

Just curious, but when was the last time we got a full-blown, console platformer Mega Man? X8?
And because someone is going to bring this up, not counting MM9 since (despite how awesome it is) it's a downloadable game.

that's the other problem some years ago it was normal that are 3 series at the same time was running, now we just have 1! and that is what more shocking me it looks like Rockman is going to dead :'( well Rockman 9 was a little hope that blows up, but just a little. We all just can hope or can we do anything? maybe support the GBD more for a new Serie? >0< well I still hope... if Rockman is gone... I don't know.. what happen then because it's fact without Rockman I wouldn't stand here also did not get a girlfriend (yeah.. Rockman did manage my life somehow) so I'm really little scary...

Capcom needs to get of their lazy duff, stop making NES games, and put time and effort into a good megaman game. God forbid they improve upon something good.
the 2.5D worked wonderfully. the engine was good, and although I disliked the X8 models, MHX had them good. they should just stick with that style. maybe up the graphics, but retain that 3D sidescroller thing.

And even Tron and the Servbot's got their turn in MVC2, and of course Classic Roll got her 2nd appearence in a fighting game. Roll has been in 3 Vs. Capcom games so far, what makes her so popular (I mean, it's not like she's a good character or anything.).
