I forget what he does, but hopefully he has enough influence that my telling him not to screw this up will actually help.
And if I'm lucky, I can try pressing him for info on the movie, if possible.
Well, I'll try to see if I can e-mail him for info and such.

Huh that's pretty cool, it would be cool if he could also get them to show new dubbed episodes of Megaman NT Warroir but that would probably never happen. Hopefully he can save the Daeth Note movie.

So I got a reply from my uncle in Warner Brothers.
While he can't do anything regarding the making of the movie, he will be giving me news on the movie production as he hears them.

Yeah, it seems that Warner Brothers knows what to do (somewhat) when it comes from converting one medium into a movie.
Fox is the one that needs to take the freaking hint.

Nothing will beat for me the two japanese live action DN movies. They were awesome.
This one will be probably full of shitty attempts at Americanization and [parasitic bomb]. It's not that I think that "JAPANESE ROOL ALL XD", it's just that... Jesus, just look at Dragon Ball Evolution.

Oh yeah, I skimmed through that script once. It actually did use a lot of the events from the early chapters of the manga. I can even sympathize with the desire to remove the Shinigami. Sure they gave the Death Notes a reason to exist and someone for our protagonist to talk to, but they also followed a lot of silly rules that seemed to have been contrived just to make the plot work the way it did.
But what did bother me was that it looked like they were having Luke start using the Death Note out of revenge for the murder of his mother, to try to justify why he would do all that, while I prefer the themes of the original story that power corrupts, and it's the nice, smart people who have the furthest to fall. It's simply a much juicier story for the guy to become a murderer due to idealism rather than trauma.

I hope not. Having seen the japanese live action movie(s) I dont think anything the US can do, much less Hollywood, can be any better than even the cartoon... I mean, seriously. this is Hollywood.

I find it very interesting that we have such drastically different opinions of Death Note, & yet we both abhor the concept of a Death Note movie. Though, I don't see why you hate Hollywood so much. Dragon Ball Evolution was fantastically everything I expected, & Astro Boy looks pretty good.

I dont hate Hollywood. But Hollywood and anime just dont mix. Hollywood and Video games dont either. just look at Legend of Chun Li.
