The facial animations are too stiff, but I suppose it's fine for the limitations of the 3DS (the version shown is Vita). And I'm going to miss the visual novel format, which was removed because "Americans are too lazy to read".

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if 999 remains my favorite, mostly because of this decision to do full cinematics. More worrisome, it seems the dialogue is much shorter now and feels rather abridged, as a consequence of cinematics.

In any case, it's good to see the banter between Phi and Sigma still present, at the very least.
