So apparently the Asahi Shinbun website is reporting that on the blurb given for Mario's 25th Anniversary, a special mention was made regarding Mario's next appearances, most notably that Paper Mario 3DS will be seeing a Q4 2010 release.

Now then, what does this mean?

A.) The 3DS will be getting launched in one regions before year's end (possibly all three thanks to some interesting things circling the news reels)?
B.) There will be a new entry in the series with conventions closer to The (mother [tornado fang]ing) Thousand Year Door?
C.) I'm drowning in my own hype?
D.) All of the above.

Rage edit: Changed the title of the thread, because sometimes I wonder why we have the internet and instant access to information when people can't be assed to utilize it.

Nintendo’s Fluidity combines an amazing physics engine that realistically models flowing water with innovative puzzle game play. Using the three forms of water – liquid, ice and cloud – players will solve challenging puzzles across multiple chapters of an illustrated magical book called Aquaticus. The game offers detailed tutorials that introduce basic game mechanics, but the complexity quickly ramps up as special powers are acquired and enemies are introduced, testing players’ reflexes and ingenuity

This is just really freakin' cool to me. It also reminds me that more developers need to realize just how much potential water has in games. I already have a kooky idea on something after seeing this, but I digress. This is such a Day 1 purchase for myself. How about you, my fellow RPM members?

Yet Another Note From News Reporter Jelly

And with yet another revolution around the sun, we are now hot on the heels of the most anticipated yearly gamer event around -- the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for short. Much to our delight, this year promises to be packed to bursting with excellent news on all fronts of gaming. Whether or not said things are new developments or teased for long periods of time beforehand, this promises to be a most spectacular time for each of us enthusiasts in our favorite (or close to favorite) hobby.

Taking a cue from my previous RPM mega thread, I will most definitely try to rise to the occasion and keep on updating the thread in a way that is both timely and easy to digest. However, since things tend to move relatively quickly during E3 time, there is always the slight chance that I might miss an update or two as things move along. At that time, I will ask for all of your help to make sure that things keep moving at a decent pace.

Final notes from me on this all: no flaming, no trolling, no psuedo trolling, no fanboy agendas, and no riling up folks. It'd be best if you all just kept whatever thoughts you had along those lines to yourself. With that all said, kick back, relax and have fun with the rest of RPM!

This is a thread I've cooked up with the purpose of creating some fun names for a set of characters in a musical concept I'm working on. Basically, members of RPM, I want you to list five musical artists or personalities (from whatever era or genre) and list their real or given name. After a bit (probably 2 - 4 pages), I'm going to close down the thread since this is really just glorified name collecting, but hopefully I'll be able to share some things related to the outcome of this later. With that said, I'll start:

1.) Michael Jackson
2.) Jimi Hendrix
3.) The Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace)
4.) Mayumi Kojima
5.) Frank Sinatra

The only other rule I'll stick on here is to try not to mention people who have already been posted on someone else's list. Also, if you can't do 5, do 3. If you can't do 3, do 1. Thanks and let's do this!

Yes, you were supposed to read the second half of the title like Bugs & Daffy. XD

Now then, welcome RPM! How's it going? With another year gone by and a month to go before the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for all you cool people, I think it's time for one of RPM's newest traditions, namely the Pre E3 news gathering and general speculation thread, to make another appearance. This year we've been given numerous hints that things will be big and very interesting. Whether it be with the release of Sony & Microsoft's new attempts at motion & camera control, Stereoscopic (3D) gaming in the form of PS3's updates, Nintendo's brand new 3DS handheld, or the mysterious Xbox 360 update that only those in Korea have been selected to receive, or just hints at the games of the show (Zelda Wii, The Last Guardian, etc), this is the place for it all. So come on in and share as we wait for the video gaming event of the year!

It would seem as though Siliconera has found a really interesting tidbit in a recent trademark filed by Capcom. Capcom's USA branch has trademarked the title "Mega Man Universe" and the fans are getting down to the guess work. So far, folks have thought of everything, from things as modest as new art book series to a new full fledged MT Framework flagship blue bomber entry on consoles. Whatever this may turn out to be, it's sure to keep us guessing as the only info we have is said name.

Quote from: Siliconera
Perhaps, Mega Man Universe is their next major Mega Man project. Capcom trademarked Mega Man Universe in the USA and they have a pretty good track record when it comes to using trademarks. Remember Okamiden, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, and Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth? All of those games were outed by trademark registrations dug up by Siliconera.

This discovery comes just a day after Seth Killian, Capcom’s Community Manager, hinted at a surprise for Mega Man fans.

So what do you all think? Expecting something amazing? Keeping your hopes tempered? Or cynical and doubtful? Whatever the thought, you can share it all here. Discuss!

Basically, I'm looking for the best "Intro to"/"C/C++ for Dummies" type of book with enough meat to get me started on the long and winding road that this programming language tends to be. Anyone have any good suggestions? Plus points if you can give me a little on what to expect or your personal rating of said suggestion from your own experiences.

I don't know how many folks on RPM actually like this series outside of the given mango lemonade guzzler, but it seems like my praer has been answered and the Boondocks Season 3 will be coming much sooner than I thought. Bad news is this is it for the series. D:

Anime & Manga / Fairy Tail
« on: March 16, 2010, 04:38:50 AM »

So, I was wondering if anyone else was following this series and I felt like a thread would make for great advertising. It's an interesting and fairly enjoyable shonen, if a tad bit predictable or scatterbrained at times. This isn't too bad though if you are still amused by shonen tropes and don't mind looking out for the developing stories under the surface. The author, Hiro Mashima is responsible for Rave Master/Groove Adventure Rave (an awesome read) and he references/gives a shoutout to lots of things & concepts in Rave from time to time.

The series is fairly straight forward. It revolves around a world where magic is the norm. In this world, the folks who use magic, the mages, seek out guilds in order to use and refine their abilities as well as take on jobs for their lively hood. Naturally, as there are many different guilds with different intentions, this leads to the bulk of the storyline and interaction within the story. The character lineup is quite diverse and makes the most out of this premise. There is also an anime series out for this, but it might be a bit off putting due to the amount of "lol magic circles" and almost slideshow like fights & action sequences. Some of the fights are like watching extended summons in a videogame with no real contact made whatsoever. XD

Still it's not bad to burn though when you've got some time on your hands. It also has a magnificently bitchin' soundtrack.

Last thing I'd like to mention is that this series has copious amounts of fanservice. If you're the type that can't deal with it, I'll tell you from the start that you'll probably be irritated with the series since most of the funny comes from these moments. That all said, welcome to the thread! Discuss away!

Gaming / Nintendo Media Summit Thread
« on: February 24, 2010, 04:11:12 PM »
You know the drill. Roughly two hours from now, Nintendo is set to make a few announcements. The fun part all lies in guess whether or not we'll love the news or pass it off as a big meh. You can follow a live "feed" of the event by following the official Nintendo of America twitter page. If you were to ask me about what we can reasonably expect, I'd say expect a bit of coverage on Monster Hunter Tri's marketing and release date, DSi XL, some games we knew about but didn't have any info on getting some air time, and maybe one or two good surprises.

Gaming / Xenoblade (Wii) - Monolith x Nintendo RPG
« on: February 17, 2010, 05:59:55 PM »
So around the time of that big reveal on Sakaguchi's newest Mistwalker project, "The Last Story", another reputable group of RPG makers made a surprising announcement. The Nintendo owned Monolith (formerly Monolithsoft) announced that their latest game, previously titled Monado: Beginning of the World, would be getting a name change to Xenoblade. The team seems to have been working on this one for quite some time and now, in the latest issue of Famitsu, they are able to divulge more info on the game:

Quote
All it took was a "Xeno" to get gamers everywhere talking about Monolith's new Wii RPG. Previously announced at E3 2009 as Monado: Beginning of the World, Nintendo, the title's publisher, gave the game the new name of "Xenoblade" a couple of weeks back and had people wondering if this might be a new entry in the Xenosaga series.

It's not a new entry in that fabled PlayStation series, though. Xenoblade director Tetsuya Takahashi made this clear in an interview in this week's Famitsu.

"The world setting, story and other elements have no relation," explained Takahashi on connections to past Xeno games. "It's a completely new title."

Design philosophy also appears to be different here. Past titles from Monolith have focused on events and scenario, Takahashi admitted. However, he feels that this type of development has reached a "dead end." The Xenoblade project started off by looking at the origins of the RPG genre. Takahashi wanted to make a game where it was simply enjoyable to adventure.

He suggested that players consider the "Xeno" part of the title to be just a symbol. "I wanted to to have some sort of common point with the games I've made."

Takahashi was a little shy in fully explaining the Xenoblade name to the magazine. "Xeno" has the meaning of "different nature" or "uniqueness," he explained. As for the "Blade" part, Takahashi asked that we refer to the game's ending to find out.

Possible ties with Xenosaga out of the way, Takahashi shared details on Xenoblade's unique story and world setting, and even gave some preliminary gameplay details.

Xenoblade's background story starts thousands or maybe tens of thousands of years in the past as two great gods waged a great battle. In the end, all that was left of the two gods were two giant corpses. Xenoblade is set on top of those two corpses.

Takahashi came up with the idea for this unique world setting after a meeting about Soma Bringer, a past Monolith project. "It seemed like it would be enjoyable to adventure on top of the body of a giant god," he told the magazine. He immediately returned to the office, wrote up a design document, and showed it to a number of other people, getting a positive reaction in the process.

In order to better get the point across about his plan, he had one of the Monolith staffers create a model of the two gods in their final resting position. The Famitsu article has an image of this model. The two gods, one winged, are facing each other, with their swords clashing like they're engaged in battle. One is kneeling while the other looks like he's about to fall to one knee.

This model, the magazine notes, was created far before actual production began on Xenoblade. "It was of great help when explaining the project to Nintendo," said Takahashi.

The entire game world is set on the top of the corpses of these two gods. The rest of the world is nothing but ocean. It's an entirely enclosed space. You won't find outer space if you look up. And it does not seem to be the case that the two gods are resting on a planet.

Takahashi actually gave a pretty specific size to the world. From one end of the corpse to the other (I'm not sure if he's referring to just one corpse or both combined), the world is about the size of Japan.

But it may be larger than it looks. Areas of the world will open up as you progress through the story, and you'll eventually enter the body of one of the gods.

Outside of the sheer uniqueness of a setting on top of two gods, Takahashi pointed out something else of note about the Xenoblade world. Because it's set on these human-like god figures, Xenoblade's world has a lot of height. "From the start of the project," said Takahashi, "we thought it would be interesting if we could make use of a vertical construction."

Areas of the world correspond to parts of the gods' bodies (no jokes now!). You'll find a wide variety to the world, from different weather to varied monster ecology. As an example of some of the regional features, Takahashi said that you can head to the top of one of the gods to see an aurora.

Not surprisingly, your quest is tied in closely with the unique setting. Residents of the two corpses are enemies. The player is on one god, which is home to a population of organic life. The other side of the world has mechanical life. Explaining how the story starts, Takahashi said, "It's simple -- the fight against mechanical life that threatens the peace of mankind."

The adventure starts on the right foot of the player's god, in an empty cave. This was actually something that was decided upon when the god model was first made. You'll initially make your way to the head area of your god.

Navigating what appears to be a large world will be simplified thanks to some of the steps Monolith is taking. The game will keep track of where you should be going, both for the main story and for sub quests that are unrelated to the story. You'll also be able to make use of warps to transport to areas that you've previously visited. Monolith even has some systems in place to keep you from losing your way when you're physically moving about the areas.

Your movement through the world will be seamless. "We've put effort into this," said Takahashi, "because we felt that in order to show a living world, we needed an overwhelming sense of scale, like that of an MMORPG."

Exploration of the world looks like it could be one of the game's charms. Takahashi said that he hopes players will simply walk around in search of special unexplored areas which have beautiful settings. You'll get experience for just finding these. Some areas include monsters that can't be defeated at first. Once you've powered your character up, you'll want to return to take on those beasts.

While most of this first interview was about Xenoblade's world setting, Takahashi also shared a few details on the Xenoblade battle system. Enemies in Xenoblade roam the fields alongside you. Encounter an enemy, and the game will transition seamlessly into battle. Takahashi explained that he didn't want make the game transition from field to battle in typical RPG style.

Since battles take place on the same fields across which you and the enemies roam, you'll find that nearby enemies will join in on the battle. As a strategy, you'll want to engage in battle in areas where there aren't any other enemies.

Your main character will adventure alongside two AI-controlled party members. Your character performs his attacks automatically while you watch the action and select special skills, known as "arts." Arts include attack skills, recovery skills and so forth, and are learned as you progress through the game.

The game will offer an adventure of around 50 to 60 hours, said Takahashi. This time will not consist of endless leveling up. It also, he made sure to note, won't consist of endless event scenes.

This first major feature on Xenoblade consisted almost entirely of the interview with Takahashi, with Famitsu getting its hands on just a few pieces of artwork and screens from the game. Xenoblade is set for a Spring release, so the wait for a more solid look shouldn't be too long.

Gaming / Super Mario Bros. 3 is 20 Years Old.
« on: February 12, 2010, 11:02:27 PM »
Holy [parasitic bomb].

Funfacts about SMB3:

- Nintendo licensed an entire movie, "The Wizard", to hype the population for it's upcoming release. In said movie, they hinted at a way to warp between massive sections of the game.
- Prior to this generation, it was the single highest selling video game not bundled with a console ever.
- The entire game is a play. Think about it for a second. (Mind blown yet?)
- There are 3 warp whistles in the game.
- The "God Mode" hammer suit can only be worn one at a time. You can only get a hammer suit in worlds 6 & 7 at certain Toad's Houses.
- Kuribo's Shoe was only available in one level. It is still the best powerup ever. XD

Now then, to take this thread in another direction, what were my fellow RPMers doing 20 years ago?

I was 5 months old. XD

Gaming / Awesome Nintendo Concept Art
« on: February 12, 2010, 08:44:09 PM »
People should know that I love concept art. People should know that I like Nintendo. That said, what do you think my expression was when I happened upon a thread on NeoGAF where a compilation of images regarding never before seen concept art & fun things was posted? Apparently, these are all lifted from 2chan where a poster shared some of the complimentary stuff from Nintendo's Prospective Employee Handbook/Gift Basket:

Quote from: mahdi_san @ GAF
I think it is from the small book for the recruitment of new employees at Nintendo for this year. Every company here in Japan makes these kinds of pamphlets to attract universities students to apply for a job at their company. I actually have the one for last year (got it at my school), but I was disappointed they didn't send us the one for this year :( Gotta find a way to get it !!!
The one I had was printed on very nice paper and had many pictures of how Nintendo offices look like, some prototype, artworks, etc...

[spoiler]

[/spoiler]

That same poster mentioned before has gone on to say that he'd scan the rest of the book & upload it if he gets clearance to do so. My fingers are crossed.

Meanwhile, you are now appreciating the awesome of BOAT TRAIN. You'll know it when you see it. XD

Gaming / Blaster Master™ Overdrive Headed To WiiWare Monday!
« on: February 07, 2010, 04:44:08 AM »
Quote
Redding, CA – February 6, 2010 – SUNSOFT, a division of SUNCORPORATION (JASDAQ: 6736), has today announced that BLASTER MASTER™:OVERDRIVE will be available in North America on February 8th for WiiWare.

BLASTER MASTER™:OVERDRIVE is an action-shooting game that takes place on an Earth infected by an aggressive, polymorphic virus. Poor, defenseless animals worldwide infected by the virus have been turned into flesh-eating, hemoglobin-swilling terrors. Fortunately, the world has Alex. And, even more coincidentally, he happens to be one of the world’s foremost biologists - specializing in viral mutation profiles and genetic manipulation.

Every studious biologist facing imminent global annihilation needs a sweet ride, and Alex is no exception. He has S.O.P.H.I.A., a shape-shifting, gas-guzzling, projectile-spewing paean to destruction on four wheels. Things look grim, but with Alex and S.O.P.H.I.A. on the case, the world just may have a chance.

Gameplay in BLASTER MASTER™:OVERDRIVE retains the critically acclaimed format of the original NES BLASTER MASTER™, alternating between side-scrolling platforming in S.O.P.H.I.A. and overhead-perspective blasting and exploration when controlling Alex. Upgrades for S.O.P.H.I.A. must be collected to access progressively more challenging terrain and a total of eight distinct areas. Each area features a mutant boss that must be defeated to progress.

The sublime blend of side-scrolling shooting/platforming mixed with overhead perspective action/shooting areas is just as addictive now as it was in the original game. The game is rated E10 for Mild Fantasy Violence and can be purchased from the Wii Store online for 1000 Wii points beginning February 8th, 2010.

As with the BLASTER MASTER NES Virtual Console release, fans are encouraged to improve their skills completing this game so they can compete and win in a coming promotion that will test their skill for collectible prizes.

Official Site: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/slsj/index.html

Due for release in Japan in 2010, The Last Story is a RPG from Mistwalker on the Nintendo Wii which takes on a new direction for the genre. The theme of the game involves the universal feelings all of humanity shares.

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/library/events/100129/07.html

Apparently, this game has been in the works since the FF6/7 era as numerous working prototypes by Sakaguchi & crew. The recent news however has pegged it as being a very big deal from Mistwalker studio.

News and Announcements / Inafune & Ariga: Grilled By The Fans
« on: December 16, 2009, 04:21:59 AM »
On the heels of a very special webcast event for the Rockman fandom, series veteran designer Keiji Inafune & Rockman Megamix artist Hitoshi Ariga are having an interview tomorrow for the greater majority of their Japanese fans. What's even more interesting is that now, Capcom is currently taking our questions in order to answer them at the planned event tomorrow.

So then, ladies and gentlemen, what kinds of interesting questions are on your minds? Also, what ulterior motive could be behind the team up of these two men with a history of working in the series? Discuss!

Off The Wall / Requesting a program!

OK, so after dicking around with Windows Live Messenger's "Draw Chat", I have to wonder, are there more full featured programs on the net that allow one to actively draw and have another person either comment on it, instant message another one or join in without being so finicky on the limits? Any help would be appreciated!

Zelda Wii (believe)
Sin & Punishment: Successor To The Sky
Golden Sun 3

Monster Hunter 3 Tri
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate Allstars

And this list is still missing a ton of blockbusters that I've probably forgotten. Good God. So then, what are some of your hopefuls and most anticipated in the upcoming flurry?

Gaming / David Wise Leaves Rare.
« on: November 15, 2009, 12:40:27 AM »
And I cry bitter tears. From his facebook:

Quote
"I think the business of Rare has changed a great deal, and at the moment there is just not the opportunity to create the soundtracks that Rare were fortunately very famous for."

It's really sad to see this happen, especially after Grant Kirkhope left much earlier this year as well. It's really enough to make ya wonder what's going on  in Rare's studios. A part of me would love to see the two of them composing for Nintendo again, and another part of me just wants them to keep composing for games regardless because they're both amazing.

And for those of us who don't know why Wise leaving is a big deal, he's the one who did the soundtracks for the Donkey Kong Country series, most notably (and fondly remembered), Donkey Kong Country 2.

Speaking under conditions of anonymity, further credible sources from within the mobile graphics industry have provided Digital Foundry with further background detail on the raw technical capabilities of the new hardware. These sources, intimately involved with the alliances and deal-making within their sector, effectively confirm the reported allegiances between Nintendo/NVIDIA and Sony/IMG, but also provide a fascinating insight into the kinds of devices the new handhelds will be, and the power levels we can expect.

In many ways, the next generation of handheld gaming technology will mirror the differences in philosophy seen in today's devices. Nintendo's new machine will offer a modest level of 3D power using established parts, while Sony will once again be aiming for the bleeding edge in mobile performance, which could well come with the same kind of price premium we saw with the launch of the original PSP.

What's really funny about the underlined part of the quote to me is the fact that if Nintendo is really confirmed to be using nVidia's second gen portable Tegra solution, that statement is a tremendous understatement of the DS2's graphical prowess. Granted, they were probably speaking in terms of being released this upcoming year, but when you consider that Tegra is capable of pushing better than Wii level graphics, moderate computing & web browsing (comparable to an iPhone/Pod Touch), and HD video playback on a portable device (mostly thanks to the constraints of being portable) and you compare that to our current DS' 3D performance, well you can see why this is a veeeery fun announcement.

Man, I missed hardware speculation and discussions. XD

Gaming / Miyamoto is "disappointed in StarFox".
« on: October 29, 2009, 12:48:47 AM »
Hmm, I wonder why...

Quote
"I tend to forget those games [laughs]. I'm a big fan of the 'Star Fox' games. Every time we make a 'Star Fox' game I'm hoping people will enjoy it as much as I do. Of course the goal every time is to try and make it more and more fun but, at least in Japan, the people that purchase the 'Star Fox' games has decreased over the years. But we still try to make them more fun and hopefully people will see the appeal in those games."

Now, I find it funny that Miyamoto's talking StarFox after we've mentioned it here recently. In my opinion, SF is in need of a return to basics/form. I've mentioned it too many times for it to get repeated again here, but now that Miyamoto has mentioned it, I have to wonder what he plans to do (if anything currently) to change this.

Gaming / ITT: We can rebuild them, we have the ideas.
« on: September 22, 2009, 03:55:08 AM »
Everyone here can remember a time when certain game franchises began. They burst onto the scene and offered us experiences that were either new and different (revolutionary even) or old fashioned, "tried and true" and classic. As time went along however, while some of these games went on to achieve incredible highs and receive numerous accolades due to their gameplay, some seemingly became victims of circumstance. When everything else went off and got bigger and better, these franchises seemed to get bigger but not necessarily for the better. Others simply disappeared and never got a second look or re-thinking.

This thread is for those franchises and game series that have seemingly lost their way or been neglected and are in need of a "pick-me-up". Now of course, since this is an internet message board, our opinions have a slim to nil chance of being heard. The fun is in seeing what others might think a good solution might be after all.

Also, since we all have wildly varying opinions and tastes, the responses here will probably get kinda hectic. For the sake of keeping a good discussion going though, I'd like it if posts in here would be well thought out and somewhat organized. For example, see below.

TL;DR - This thread is where all of us amateur designers or simple series enthusiasts mention what it is that our favorite series that have come upon rocky roads need to get ack on track. I'll start with something that I started in another thread, namely the StarFox series when I get back, but for now, I hope you all can enjoy this thread. Now then, discuss!

General / Official RPM Computer & Electronics Discussion Thread
« on: August 25, 2009, 11:49:58 PM »
OK, after an interesting thought hit me in Nodoka's current gen console thread, I decided to make a bit of an unusual thread that will hopefully help the RPM populace. The purpose of this thread is simple, it's to be used to help anyone looking for a recommendation, facts or hands on impressions for electronics, laptops, desktops, and their parts. It's also going to be used to help educate our fellow members on a few topics I'm sure you'll all have questions on. So whether it's simple things like graphics cards, getting the best bang for your buck when shopping for your gadgetry, the ins and outs of drawing tablets, or getting your iPod up and running smoothly, this topic is for you!

Please note though, this topic is not meant for PC related problems. While I'm sure there might be some things along the way that will get brought up here at first, if your questions pertain to a specific problem you are having with your device and computer, see the Computer Problem Thread or our resident Meltyhead DominicanZero aka Shiki Tonho for more info to help you out.

Now with all of this covered, I'd like to leave you all to post and help one another out with information as the thread goes on. I'll be back to post in the thread soon enough to cover some interesting topics, mostly on the computing side of the spectrum.

Some things of note to post in here whenever you discuss your issues or want to share information would be:

  • Your desktop or laptop specs
  • Your level of proficiency with computers
  • Are you a light or heavy electronics consumer?
  • Your experience with a certain brand or device
  • "Futureproofing" (I.E. Buying the best with the future and longevity in mind) or "For The Here and Now" (Multiple purchases as they first roll out)?

Gaming / What got you into gaming?
« on: August 22, 2009, 01:51:52 AM »
I thought this would make for an interesting topic. What was the spark that got you deep into this hobby?

For me, it was weekly game nights when I was 3 or so watching my Aunt and Mother go back and forth on Tetris or Super Mario Bros. I just had to try it myself and sure enough, I had become hooked.

Wada: This is a great opportunity, so I have something I'd like to say. In Punch-Out!!, the game gives you a lot of hints about effective timing of punches. There is a big boxer called Bald Bull in the NES version as well and a light flashes to the right in the audience when he charges. If you punch when it flashes you will land a body blow.

Tanabe: What? Really?

Wada: No one has known about that for about 22 years…

Everyone: (laughter)

Wada: I was wondering when I would have a chance to tell people that.

Iwata: You've been holding that information for 22 years since the release. (laughs)

Wada: Now that I had the chance. (laughs) There are a lot of hidden elements in the NES version.

The Quote That Made Me Go Wild:

Iwata: Sorry for making you wait so long, Tanabe-san.

Tanabe: That's fine.

Iwata: You were responsible for the mission of resurrecting games made by Genyo Takeda, Nintendo's first game designer. Why did you do this project?

Tanabe: It all started from Next Level Games wanting to do this game.

Games produced by Genyo Takeda:

Punch-Out!! (arcade game)
Super Punch-Out!! (arcade game)
Arm Wrestling (video game)
StarTropics
Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II
Pilotwings 64

Pokémon Puzzle League
Dr. Mario 64
